Really disappointed with all services. Friendly staff with some bad staff. Mosquito filled room, there are no adequate feeding chairs for infants. Give priority to foreigners. First bad hotel experience I ever had for my life. Never recommend for anyone. Really we lost our money and time there.

We had a Pleasant stay at Avani, since they had only locals the food was fully Sri Lankan style but we loved it. We loved the food, service people and the place. Thank you we had a good stay ♥️ My daughter loved the pool and the play area. It was fun at the craft area too, she had fun. Have been to Avani before it was fully packed, it was sad to see the hotel empty. Hope there will more people coming in. Hope for the best 🎈

It is a 5 star property. Had a great time with my family. Was warmly welcomed. Most beautiful lagoon and sea views are an advantage for the this hotel. Really calm environment. Nice pool areas. One of the best in Kaluthara area Where you can find delicious foods plus top class accommodatins.

Loved the hospitality of the Avani staff, great food — any kind of cuisine the chef could could pull it off — had a great time at our niece's wedding — Kairos wedding planners are worth mentioning — Janice and her entire staff — commendable, helped us plan the wedding without any setbacks — they were super helpful, very sweet and awesome! Thank you to everyone at the Avani Kalutara Resort. A wonderful resort with the most friendly, warm and welcoming staff, who made our stay amazing. The rooms were bright, spotlessly clean and well equipped. The buffet food was good and well supplied with a variety of choices. We will return one day.

We had a all hands event with a group of 100 for 3days. We enjoyed the stay to maximum. We love the view as the hotel is located between sea and a lagoon. Rooms were in very good standard. Bathrooms were well maintained and very good looking. The negative side is the food and most our members were complaining about the food stunning variation is limited. Bit less staff seems to servicing the food area.

One best place to spend the weekend. I have beef with my family from UK, each one of us enjoyed very well. Hotel is old but clean and nicely kept. Staffs are so friendly and helpful. All three meals are out of the world, we may think can pay extra from what we got billed. It got sea view and lagoon view on both side.

Excellent service. Rooms were top class and well serviced. A special thanks to Amali who was in charge of servicing the rooms! Breakfast and dinner was top class. Saturday night musical entertainment was excellent.

The area is big. The rooms are the most ordinary. Family. They're cleaning up so-so. The food is delicious, but it is difficult to choose not spicy. But this is already a feature of Sri Lanka. At night, music plays loudly from the restaurant. Maybe we're so lucky to have a corporate one there, but still, a lot of families with kids, and it's not very nice. On the morning they explained that it was corporate, that it usually does not happen. Apologized for the inconvenience, which was nice and smoothed the experience.

Wonderful hotel with a friendly staff. We traveled as a family. Food was amazing and the location is very nice, You have both lagoon view and the sea view. Sea in this part is bit rough though. Hotel offered a small cake for me as it was my birthday with some candles. Very nice! Buffet was really good and they offer a wide variety of food. And more importantly they are really tasty! Chef was kind enough to prepare some pasta for my kid and he had a friendly chat with most of the guest while we were having lunch. Manager was friendly too and they were very flexible (do not rush guest to check out) All and all I have a very positive experience with AVANI Kaluthara. I really enjoyed my trip. Hopefully will return to enjoy your food once again!

The hotel has an interesting location, away from the hustle and bustle of the peninsula. Surrounded by the ocean and the river. For tourists like me and my husband-which is important silence and size on vacation, this hotel-just super! The hotel grounds are plenty large, shared with another hotel. Very clean, well-groomed. Lots of animals and greenery. The room is large, filled with everything necessary, but I lacked the light, it seems that it is dark, but can it because of the location of the room. And so, in the room is a good repair, everything looks stylish, nice inconspicuous colors, nothing superfluous. From the furniture we had a bed with a very comfortable soft mattress, roomy wardrobe, table, mirror, furniture on the balcony. Air conditioning, TV, mini-bar, hair dryer. In the bathroom there is a shower cubicle, sets of fresh and clean towels. The room service is very timely and quality, even without tips everything was excellent. The staff is attentive and friendly to all the guests. I especially liked the staff of the recipes, which could be contacted at any time and on any issue. We just had a crane break in the night — quickly done. The food at the hotel did not disappoint us. It was a lot, satisfying, tasty. Of course, there is no special variety in the daily menu, cook from the same. But even the same chicken-cooked excellently and in all sorts of ways. The cost is standard, cereals, yogurt, eggs, garnish, cheese, cutting vegetables, fruit, pastries, drinks.

Good hotel with a friendly staff. Its full with foreigners. Few locals I have seen. Room are good. Complimentary cofee, tea, suger and 2 water bottles available. Balcony with chairs and a table. Dinner buffet is good. Good place to relax and enjoy the day without any hassle.

Have a great view through lagoon and sea. Sceneric. Car park is spacious. But heavily dissatisfied about the service. Went for an event there. Snacks supplied less than the crowd. Also tea table didnt have sugar for long time. Service guys saw both incidents and they got hidden from area. Worst ever.

Excellent experience in a superbly run resort. Perfectly situated in the lagoon giving an spectacular view to guests. Cuisines are a delight and facilities are a boon.

The Avani Kalutara is a lovely hotel, positioned right on the end of a headland on the beach BUT it is very isolated from anything and you need a Tuk Tuk to get you into the town which is a working town not geared up for tourists.
The staff were very friendly and helpful. The room we had was large, a comfortable bed and cleaned daily. Also free soft drinks in mini bar in room along with tea/coffee making facilities with two bottles of water left daily.
Swimming pool was lovely, same depth in whole pool, there is a small pool for children. Wear flip flops to get to the pool as the flooring gets really hot and can burn soles of feet.
Our only gripe was that there was not enough choice of food in the restaurant. You could eat curry dishes for breakfast, lunch and evening meal but not much in the way of European style foods and very little for vegetarians. Also the service of clearing tables was slow to non existence at times. If you are going to this hotel I would recommend all inclusive as there is nowhere nearby for food and again the snack menu is the same everyday with very little choice.

Very nice hotel with very nice staff and great food. The hotel is a bit secluded on a headland, one side sea view the other in the lagoon. The cocktails are delicious, the food excellent and varied. There are plenty of sun beds and umbrellas at the pool. Who likes can also lie on the beach. Swimming in the sea is a bit difficult as there are undercurrents. Man can bathe. A great place to relax. We had room 243, a junior suite with plenty of space, much better not going!

Dirty place, sea drags. It's impossible to swim. The hotel is not equipped with a shower by the pool. Staff boorish. A bunch of locals who are bred for money.

It has very good view. It is better place for a photo shoot like wedding day. However service and food (Im a vegetarian) not the best.

This hotel is situated facing a lagoon and that is one of best places a hotel can be. It has larger yard giving us calm ambiance with a lot of trees. The other side of the hotel faces the beach, and it's a clean and a beautiful one. The food is also good have many variations as well. In the banquet hall I visited, the dining area is divided into 3 parts where the larger one has the buffet setup, so it has both pros and cons (good for weddings, not for conferences). (You can check with them to see if they have another set up. )

Only stayed one night as a stop over but a very nice clean modern hotel Room was very good, food nice staff very helpful Hotel is based on a river bank which if you feeling brave you can go in or there is the hotel pool Would have been happy to stay longer!

A lovely resort in perfect location. I had a great time with my friends. I loved the location since its separated from the noisy roads. Rooms were clean and tide, but I wish room service be better. I stayed around 2 days and very satisfied with the food and location.

Fabulous hotel set in beautiful surroundings. Staff are extremely helpful and lovely. Food is excellent and the housekeepers are brilliant. This is my 2nd visit to this hotel and I would love to return again in the future.

Great hotel, the location is quiet and cozy, what is needed for a family holiday. Swimming in the ocean is not suitable for all, strong current and wave, saves the pool on the territory of the hotel.

Avant Kalutara, wonderful hotel with good service. Clean, nice, tasty.
Location: 1, 5 hours from the airport, location between the river and the ocean.
The beach is almost deserted. 10 days rested all the time on the beach and in the ocean on the waves hopped. 2 times in the pool, but there are only Europeans kisnut (ocean fear).
Animals: Ravens, chipmunks (palm squirrels), lizards, lizards, different birds…
Very nice! We like Molodozhonam in the room brought a plate of fruit and cake. Honestly very nice.
Free: Towels Beach mattresses sun loungers billiards table Tennis Volleyball Darts Chess Checkers Wi fi (throughout the hotel) Room: Big bed, lots of light, we had a mini bar free of charge (Coca-Cola, Fanta, Straight, tonic… Local ginger lemonade), 1 liter of water. Cleaning 2 times a day, the 3rd time came mace Spray from Nasikomyh. Lots of towels (3-4 towels per person), linen changed once in 2-3 days. The flowers on the bed were always left.
Kitchen: We had breakfasts and dinners. Food is always enough, all very tasty, lots of choice, chicken, fish, squid, pork, beef… Lasagna, omelets, muesli, salads, soups… Rice is different… Cake, ice-cream… Fruits (pineapples, pappaja, mini bananas, mini watermelons, passion, oranges, apples…)
The hotel is for a relaxing holiday. The main mass of tourists is the Europeans (Germans, Frenchmen, Englishmen…) for 50…
Recommend! The hotel is not 4 star but for all + 5

Staff with small care, welcoming and tastefully decorated infrastructure but not very easy in locating and lack of accessibility for people with disabilities.
Very decent food extras a little expensive evenings with very nice themes; Barbecue in front of the pool, candlelight dinner, musicians for a cosy atmosphere…

Rest at the Avani Kalutara Resort from 11.12.17 to 22.12.2017, we want to share our impressions, disappointed by the colossal lack of organization on the part of the guide (Chamira Dilanka) not once during our arrival not to ask whether we have any issues or problems, on the day of departure the transfer was not organized. The guide did not answer our calls, we even had to call Russia to the company's tour and the Sri Lankan Embassy
After numerous negotiations we were sent a bus that drove through all the towns to not go to the highway.
After that we were late to the airport, and the guide never got in touch with us.
As well as the hotel staff, leaves much to be desired.
During our arrival not once changed the bed, towels once and then at our request, as well as not once there was no wet cleaning and constantly had to be reminded, about that put water and shampoo.
As far as we understand the staff is strictly forbidden to walk with holidaymakers, but (Security oic Ajith)
it did not stop, did not give the passage, constantly there were unequivocal hints when received from us refused began to rude.
And also we had to change the room as leaving on the balcony of the first floor were painting works. But having changed the number our troubles are not over. Next to our room from seven o'clock in the morning sawed drills and until the end of the holiday every day.

This place is really excellently located to be able to have adventurous trips around the island and then to return into quite secluded luxury. For the price you get plenty of bang for your buck. Due to the price/quality valuation im doing in my head, I give this place 5 stars.

Delicious cuisine, Services are friendly and accurate. Scenic environment and breathtaking place to stay. Yet there are some minor problems, it will be a better experience especially for the elderly people if they had a lift in the building where the rooms are and their own custom TV operating system laggs quite sometime plus they have space for make stuff better. Overall I had a nice stay there and can rate 5 stars.

I spent almost all day inside the pool and from the reception to the pool attendants everybody were polite and well behaved. Food is nice. Environment is nicer and cleaner. One of the best hotels in Kalutra. I'm glad I chose this one for the hangout.

I stayed at Avani Kalutara for two days with my family. It's an absolutely good hotel and the services provided by the staff were excellent. Mr. Jayantha — the front office manger and his colleagues of the front office did a wonderful job. Check in and check out was very quick and hassle free. Buffet was also excellent and had all kinds of varieties. Staff of the room service and house-keeping also did a wonderful job. Mr. Anuruddha and Mr Nimal — members of the room service department, were very helpful, courteous and efficient.

Having a new hotel feel to it. Have lots of places to chill. Friendly and accommodating staff (no group playing in the pool if you are screaming though) … A good portion of beach to enjoy the sunset… but would not recommend to wet your feet due to rough sea. Buffet is of good quality even though limited variety.

Very nice and classy hotel. The staff is incredibly friendly and eager to make your stay as pleasant as possible. The restaurant and breakfast are also really good and not overpriced. Just bear in mind that it is not possible to bathe in the sea in the rain season. They really made us have a memorable honeymoon and even prepared a delicious candle light dinner at the beach for us. Very very kind!

Situated at the Kalutara River peninsula by the lagoon. Very scenic location. Super for relaxation. Very good cuisine. Just over one hours drive from Colombo city. Good pools. Two restaurants.

Excellent service and excellent food other than to the exceptional location. Only issue is vehicle parking and it is management.

Staff in the reception is mean. Do not trust their telephone operator whatsoever. She is a big liar and try to grab extra money. Food and atmosphere is good. They usually don't offer buffet if the guest count is below so called 30. Always get ready for the set menu IYKWIM.

Very good stay overall, we were able to make the acquaintance of PAOLO on the Beach the first day, this one offers excursions at very affordable prices, he talks and includes the french, do not hesitate to go see it or ask on the beach!

They provide a customized experience for each guest. That's what's awesome about this place. Other than that, the food is great even though the selection is minimal. And the environment is awesome with jetskiis and all that near the beach.

'' Wedding in Paradise'' we had our dream wedding on 1st of May at Avani Kalutara Resort. we organised our reception within 10 days and the big day itself went by so smoothly and I never thoughts I would feel as relaxed as I did on my wedding day! From the moments we arrived we were treated with the finest service. The view when you first walk through reception and towards the beach is breath taking. The outdoor scenery was an added bonus.! Each and every staff members we came across was so polite, friendly and attentive. Specially Thanks for the Wonderful man in the Resort! Mr. Donald for his priceless coordination, guidance and reception. As for the resort itself, Wow.! The buffet selections offered in the kitchen were awesome. Since we have arrived at the Avani hotel the staff have been nothing but friendly, helpful and couldn't do enough for us. The head chef catered for all my dietary requirements and nothing was too much trouble. Donald arranged a beautiful beach dinner for my partners birthday, complete with a menu that I could eat and a wonderful disc of photos, making the whole occasion special and memorable. The restaurant staff and bar staff were amazing and took the time to make us feel at home and the pool staff were friendly and always available with a smile and to help with anything. The rooms were kept beautifully clean and flowers and decorations left on the bed. Thank you very much also to the wonderful lady on the reception who ensured that everyday was started with started with a big smile and a friendly face. Very nice hotel, staff very attentive. Cold have a bit more to do around the pool and some entertainment during the night, if you like a quiet hotel then its ideal for you. Sea is on the rough side and the beach could do with a good clean. Very cheap tours offered by Fredee, local on the beach. We have been out and about with him and would fully recommend him.
