Wedding Function @Ballroom
We had our wedding on 28 th November should say the staff was very helpful and the service and food is excellent. Managers worked on 28 th night was was very helpful and chef Ruchira thanks a lot. Front desk staff have late checkout without any hesitation and also thankyou Ms Kosala and Melissa for the coordination part and support. Thankyou hilton and all staff members for the excellent service.

We had a wedding for our daughter yesterday and I must tell you I was very impressed by the service and staff. I specially would like to mention Melissa from the banquet dept very very helpful Heyn and Karunaratne and their team who were on the ground … absolutely excellent service … and the food … lovely… Thank you all for making our little girl's day special. Amirtha and Jeremy.

Nicely located, spacious hotel however very old property hence room are not that great. Location, breakfast and restaurants are too good and should not give it a miss. Executive lounge for members is very good. Best part is that staff of this hotel. Very courteous and friendly.

Went for a conference. They served us multiple meals anr snacks and the food quality is superb. There we number of things for vegetarians in the meals which is so great for me because I am a vegetarian. Main parking was always full but there is another huge parking opposites Hilton gate facing lotus road on the others is of the road. So parking wasn't a problem. A/C level in conference hall is great and the bathroom were very clean and maintained regularly. Staff is good and helpful.

Room is spacious and I got a sea view. Rooms services are good but expecting tips all the time. Breakfast ok with good varieties of food with choice of egg dishes. Bar is expensive when compared with other near by hotels. Worth to stay if you get a more than 30% offer…

The best best food in Colombo! Nothing can beat their restaurant food and service. Favourite is graze kitchen. Lovely ambience especially by the pond, watching the swans go by on a nice sunny day.

My star ratin is 5 stars for Graze kitchen and 1to 2 stars for cafe KAI. The cafe KAI service is very good my 1 star is for the menu or The lack of it at Cafe KAI. The service and food was Very Good at Graze kitchen. I have also noticed now they have a young pleasent staff unlike a couple of years ago. My complaint is cafe KAI. I have been a patroniser of finethings (KAI previous name) for the past 20 years. As a chocoholic every weekend I fill up my home front with all the liquor chocolates. Eg. Baily cream, Armanac, and the cakes such as chocolate Brandy harlem etc. In fact I had my wedding at Hilton and I served the guest chocolates from fine things after dessert. Now I found they have done away with all liquor based items chocolates and cakes from cafe KAI. The reason a Islam Moslem executive chef who has come to hilton has forbidden to serve anything with liquor. I must stress here I respect his religious views. BUT he is working for a world wide multinational hotel chain hilton. You cannot force your your personal religious views on clients customers of a world wide hotel chain. I am appealing to GM Mr. Manesh Fernando to please enforce multiethnic views and menus without jepadising the hilton name.
I feel sad for present Autocratic decisions of the Executive chef. Hilton lover.

I had my wedding at Hilton Colombo last year May, They mentioned that you get a dinner voucher for two on your first anniversary and some other discounts, However when I checked with their banquet manager who arranged the same for us, he kept asking 101 questions plus he will check and get back, However I didn’t give up on that and kept calling him 5 to 6 times and then he wanted me to place a booking at glaze kitchen and then he will sort it out, On the day I went for the dinner he sent another contact number and asked me to call him and tell the same story again to get the dinner. Somehow I managed to get the dinner voucher but isn’t it your responsibility to call the customer and update on the anniversary dinner and arrange it as appropriate? After spending millions for the wedding and it’s really sad to see a service like this from Hilton Colombo. I will not recommend this place for weddings, as there’s are more places which provide better service plus offers for a lesser price.

Graze kitchen at Hilton is fully worth for what you pay. They have a good range of meats, salads, Japanese cuisine and desserts. Also indian cuisine is available at their international buffet. Recommend.

Very luxury hotel, suitable for family occasions like weddings, corporate events like meetings and conferences. Better place for dining with good hospitality. Luxurious stay for locals and foreigners. They have variety of cuisines, luxury rooms, amazing meeting and conference halls. The location is more attractive for nature lovers and city lovers. Altogether an amazing icon for hospitality, luxury, taste and convenience.

It was all good until I ordered a cake from Hilton. It was for my wife's birthday and I took the cake off the counter. Somehow the person who wrapped it up have me the wrong cake with saying happy birthday someone else name. I complained and the KAI manager have me a call apologizing to me. Then asked me to give a call when I'm coming back. So after a month I was going to Hilton disregarding all my instincts and I have a call. She didn't pick up for several times so I had to call the hotel and get the hotel to call her. Poor customer service and follow up from The managers end. Totally disappointed. I think that's why I usually like going to Cinnamon as they do things well compared to Hilton.

One of the oldest standing property build by Japanese engineering attention to detail. Rock solid cascade but very long in the toooth with respect to decor and the complete old school marble look… The staff uniforms are build to bring some brightness and casualness to the ambience but you can feel the old office building kind of feel at the property…

The staff was not punctual and not accommodating at all. Unfriendly and not accommodating! The hall was terrible. The main entrance door to the hall was born it won't stay open. The blinds a inside the hall were broken. Some of the table clothes and chair covers were not ironed and cleaned. I personally had to ask the late arrival staff to change them. After paying a fortune to book the hall for the wedding this is what we had to face. The groom was about to get charged with LKR50, 000 to replace the wood or the room caused from an open two in the bathroom. Which means the room service didn't check anything properly. In top the bathroom sink should never overflow from just is tap unless it's clogged. Which man the system is faulty. But when we asked for reasons they ignored the invoice and asked us to not to worry about it. If this was an innocent person, he would have been charged the amount. So do not book this hell hall for your special day. You will regret it!

Good place with nice restaurants. I like the curry leaf restaurant, Nice ambience, local cuisine, and very friendly staff. Recommend this place for anyone who want to spend some quality time.

I had my wedding at Hilton Colombo last year October and it was a mess from The start. They advertise that you get a dinner voucher for two on your first anniversary and that you get special something in your room given for the night for the couple etc. Believe me I didn’t get anything. I asked several times from my banquet manager and was told I will be given. But I wasn’t given. It was just a room. Also they messed up my wedding rituals as they didn’t give the hall vacated on time (the time they promised) for us from the previous wedding to decorate the hall for my wedding hence the poruwa time and everything got delayed, parents got frustrated, people couldn’t dress up in time to attend the rituals as they were busy running around trying to organize everything. Decorating people said they cannot be held responsible as they were not given enough time to do their job properly. I had 252 guests, one by one arriving waiting to be seated. Honestly my experience was just horrible. They gave the ice sculptures and the bubble machine for free. That I appreciate. Afterwards they compensated for the whole bad experience but still it left a very bad mark in my special day. Also your banquet manager’s could learn a bit of manners when talking to their clients. People spend million to hold a wedding at your hotel not to be talked like trash but with respect.

Fantastic property with the most friendly and observant staff! Fullfilled all our wishes with a smile! The breakfast at Graze was excellent and Curry Leaf was one of the best buffets I have had around the globe. The executive lounge is nicely refurbished and the staff are great aswell are the food and beverage options. Big thanks to all staff for making our 2 stays this pleasant, we will for sure return!

This is an exceptional hotel. The location is great in a very upscale part of Sri Lanka that overlooks the ocean on obe side and the cityscape on the other. Service was extraodinary. From check in with a personal escort to the executive lounge (as I arrive early) to the personal fruit basket and chocolates in my room. The rooms are spacious and well appointed. The food at Graze was great. A broad selection of items on the buffet from local favorites to foods from all regions of the world. Moreover, the ambiance of Graze was very nice. It feels more like an upscale restaurant rather that a buffet. Highly recommend this hotel for your next trip to Colombo.

This one of the finest hotel situated in the commercial area of Colombo city. This is a very good hotel for business travelers. Their executive lounge is one of the best in the town. The staff is very friendly and it provides everything you want to work. The front office staff was very friendly and helpful.

Location Good location, great service, lovely view from the window. The bath room looks old fashioned but clean and functional. Very expensive taxi to the airport. In advance to know about transfer at acquaintances or friends, look in Instagram those who deals with transfer. I got a taxi in $50 in October 2016. Tuk-tuk drivers take in Tridorogo, haggle necessarily and shoot the price twice, and sometimes more.

Birthday Celebrations … We came in here many times we love Colombo Hilton. Nice and beautiful ambiance hotel. We had a great time at there restaurant GRAZE the variety of food is so welcoming we love there spread so much to choose from we enjoyed our special day in a special place we want to thank Zainab and the Guest Relation team for organizing my birthday cake and special room Made my day special keep up the great work! The service was superb! Superb service as always at Colombo Hilton more specifically at Executive Lounge.

Buffet style breakfast is nice. Internet speed is very fast. Elevator is very fast without any stress to wait. Staff level is not that high as other 5 star hotels out of Sri Lanka. They are not so knowledgeable on any events outside hotel. Lobby is gorgeous and nice.

Nice hotel but not the latest.

Dined at The Curry Leaf. The buffet at the restaurant was awesome… It's the only place that has crabs as part of the buffet menu. All seafood is prepared as per your choice with spice you need. Flexibility in a buffet which is unheard off. Overall experience was lovely when you want to see your wife enjoy herself and she did!

Excellent location. Breath taking interior and delicious food of various cuisines. Highly recommended for people who enjoy classy atmosphere coupled with little pockets of solitude.

Elegant hotel. Food is very good. We had 2 official conferences there. They were very flexible to arrange their setup in the hotel as per our requirements. They converted an entire floor with hotel rooms in to small conference rooms.

The newly refurbished hotel looks beautiful. Improved service. Their Endless High Tea is a must try.

Service is really good. Food is good. Internet speed is around 2-3 MB — could be faster. Furniture is old as are most hotels in Colombo. (I might have stayed in the older wing). Downstairs lobby and bar are really well maintained.

Hilton's grand ballroom is the wedding hall in Colombo that can facilitate the highest number of guests. Just over 500 Ample parking at Hilton's carpark just opposite the hotel. Food at a wedding is usually good. Not so much of a garden. Daily dinner buffet is alright but not great. Several other leading hotels in Colombo have much better ones.

Great Place. When you enter cannot think you are in thw middle of the city. Have a peaceful outdoor area. Food is amazing! Have lots of tastes.

The Hilton used to be the best modern hotel in Colombo. Specially the Enchilon pub and Sunday brunch was iconic. Sadly the Hilton lost ground now due to weird modernization and better competitors. The Oktoberfest was fantastic. But when Monopoly Lion took over it's nothing but a disaster. Not one drop of draft beer in 2016!

I like the food offered at Species Restaurant. Specially the sushi they offer is fresh. We don't get a chance to experience these types else where in Sri Lanka. The service is good it's a fine place to entertain a guest.

No Questions asked great service and all. Food is good. Accommodation is great. But the Grand ballroom floor can do with a bit of additional grandeur. The doors have scratches on them and which have just been painted over. A bad job of restoration.

Echelon pub only: good prices and service, go during the happy hour 6.30-8pm to get 50% OFF on selected drinks. Be sure to find comfortable seating, some of the high chairs are literally a pain in the ass after a while.

One of the best places to have dinner. The dinner buffet is fabulous. Includes a whole variety of food. The soup and salad bar is excellent. The main meals are very good, specially the spaghetti bolgnese and cabonara. Love the Western and Italian dishes. Desserts are very tasty specially the cream puffs and the chocolate eclairs. Service was very good and overall this is one of the best places to go for a dinner also the price is very reasonable.

From the outside and the furnishings it looks a bit bland, but the rooms are all super clean, one side has good views of the sea and room service is very decent. I would recommend staying there.

Nice hotel in a busy area of Colombo. Rooms are clean but appear a little bit old style. Very friendly and supportive staff. No problems with airport pickup. 40min drive from airport. Gym and pool area with bar and food service available. Breakfast with western and Asian style dishes. 5 min walk from Dutch Hospital Shopping and restaurant area. Seafood at Green Leaf Restaurant is excellent. I had dinner there three times.

Such an irresponsible manager.

A long review but good to know what's happening at Hilton Colombo. I booked my room at Hilton Colombo to stay between 9-13 July to attend an exhibition. The story starts from requesting to changing my booking from 8-13 to 9-13 July and also confirmation of airport pickup. The booking was changed to 9-13 July on the same day. However, after 4 emails (each time got reply with my reservation details only), no one confirmed if there was an airport pick up arranged for me or not. I finally called the hotel to confirm if the airport pick up is arranged or not, they said YES. It is arranged. When arrived at the airport, there was no driver to pick me up. In fact the driver who was supposed to pick me up was busy in his mobile so he had my name under his arm and I couldn't find him. I had to go to the counter to ask for the driver. Finally got into the car and arrived at my room. When looked up at my items, I realised that I had forgotten my box of chocolates in the car. I called the reception to see if the driver has handed it over, short story, the chocolates disappeared. In the morning when taking shower, it took me a while to find out how the shower system works (not to confuse you with my ability of using a shower, I have been traveling around the world for the last 10 years). There was no fan or air exchange system while taking shower to keep the fog away so after shower, had to clean the mirrors to be able to see myself.

Echelon Pub made a wonderful place to wrap up a Saturday in Colombo! With some EPL matches on the big screen TVs, we enjoyed Lion draft beer and mixed drinks with very friendly and attentive service. The food didn't quite match the quality of the rest of the experience, but the overall atmosphere — including live music — is highly recommended.

Love the cakes. Hotel is pretty much the same as it was for the last 15 years. Good selection of restaurants and nice ambiance. However, the customer service could be improved since some of the staff members seem very inhospitable and have the western attitude syndrome which seems to affect their perception of following the 'customer is king' mantra, which in the service industry should be of utmost importance.

I attended my uncles wedding here. I should say I enjoyed every moment of it. Thanks to Hilton.

Best at happy hours. Drinks are even cheaper than regular bar prices and you get Coke or orange juice for free.
