One of a best eco lodges I've seen…

The best place to stay in Sri Lanka, this location is glorious, right in the middle of the rainforest. The tree houses are spacious and well equipped and the views great. Staff at the restaurant are super friendly and the food is amazing. I'd go again!

Amazing place, stunning view, you can hear the jungle from your bed, unique experience, really eco-friendly place with nice staff and delicious food. Recommend it!

Paradise! " Well maintained, gracious staff, the whole package" This is exactly what Back of Beyond — Dehigaha Ela can be described as. As a group, we were treated with care and affection by the staff. The staff were well equipped with all the information that we needed, be it food, sigh, or the many cultural quirks of Sri Lanka. The staff along with the beautiful tree houses/ cottages that we stayed at, left us satisfied customers.

This was my first time in Sri Lanka from visiting from the United States and I loved it! You really get the full nature experience from tree house/boulder rooms, fish spa, amazing food, and diverse wildlife. If you are planning on staying anywhere in Sri Lanka make sure to check out this place.

One of my favorite places I have been to recently… loved the serenity of nature… waking to the chirping of birds… fresh air… they have a amazing cook… he cooked us a delicious fish with some local recipe…

Unique place to stay and zone out. Great food and friendly staff. Out of the way though (30 minutes to nearest shop) but well worth it! Theres a river with fish that massage your feet for free!

Dehigaha Ela — Back of beyond. It’s a once in a lifetime experience. It is a must visit if you are in Sri Lanka and wont to be on an actual vacation with nature. There are literally no cell phone signals and neither does the Wi-Fi work so it is time to enjoy the nature with all the animals. There is so much to do in the resort itself. Bicycle riding is another option available in the resort and just a km away is a farm field where the locals grow egg plants and tomatoes. Go indulge with the locals and pluck some tomatoes while you are at the resort. The fish spa is a nice place to go relax and let the fish do what they do best. The food at the resort is amazing and they do not use artificial coconut rather they make it themselves. The Lime juice is the best in the country which is generally served to you on your arrival. Kasun the manager of the resort is a really friendly person and his whole crew is commendable.

The perfect place to relax and get away from the hustle and bustle! It's just you and nature! The staff is friendly and the food is simple and wholesome! Definitely recommend!

I really loved this place… I must say this place is ideal for nature lovers and its worth going far away from colombo to witness the beauty of our surrounding. I must say the owner of back of beyond should be blessed as he/she taught me the wonders of nature which are spectacular.

If you truly love an experience with nature this is the place. If you love staying on top a Tree House and experience the sounds, smells & sights to the bone then this is the place. Unforgettable is the little stream on the side of the resort where you can have a wonderful cool dip during the day. The Sri Lankan authentic food served was delicious especially after a refreshing bath. Thumbs up, a great place to visit but remember that you'll need a Jeep to get there as it is back roads that you'll have to travel. That in itself is a worthy experience in my opinion.

Warning : Keep away extremely addictive formula for Nature Lovers. Do not enjoy or you will get dissolved and immersed in the serene experience. Do not infect the mosquitoes with your toxic city blood. Aptly named, Back of Beyond. It's the most rustic, and serene appointment with nature, which I would never want to end. Stayed just one night but was good for having the opportunity. The place though a bit difficult to find at 7.00 PM, in the midst of the jungle, when it was pitch dark, was eased with the clear instruction set and map given by the ECO-RETREAT and telephone support by Friendly Manager Prasantha. This place is impossible to reach without private vehicle. The manager was eager and waiting to welcome us, and was even worried as it was a bit late. The helpfull staff deserves full marks for all the help provided during the brief stay which was always more than expected. Mr. Prasantha also spent his time to show us around the place in the morning. The place would be pitch dark at night as in midst of the jungle and we couldn't see whats around. The only things visible were in the spotlight of our torch. My wife and Kid were scared on reaching and surfing the place, but it was just a matter of sometime till they blend in and my 6 year old starts enjoying and help her mother loosen up. The mornings with sunlight seeping through the net to wake you up, opens your eyes to the unimaginable beauty of nature.

This is truly an excellent place to stay and enjoy the world wild. Book your dinner there ' the food is excellent and the staff is super kind, we loved it.
Super endroit en pleine jungle, idéal pour se ressourcer. Bon point de départ pour sigyryia. Cuisine Sri lankaise tres bonne. A essayer.

Awesome place to experience the nature in tree-house. Need to stay at least 2 night to get the best experience.
