Our second visit to this hotel. My husband is in a wheelchair and I just wanted to thank the staff for all their help with getting about and it especially want to thank the restaurant staff as they were extremely helpful during our visit.

Very small Rooms. They said mountain view when booking. But I would say its a building right in front and sides, and rooms are very noisy. The cleaning people equipment room is right in front of our rooms. Its very noisy all time. The staff is shouting. And the trolleys are making an even worst noise.
They need to understand not to do this way to the customer. We come along way to relax and enjoy. And expect the best for the price paid. Would never ever recommend this hotel to anybody! Regret alot!

The location is great. The food is very nice and I liked the band that plays music while you eat. The swimming pool is a good one. Be aware if monkeys as they may go into your room and steal things if you leave the windows open.

Nice and sweet place to have get together. My sisters wedding was hosted in hotel. Food beverages and everything is in very good quality. Many foreign nationals also staying in hotel. Rooms are super clean and very carefully maintained. When reservations maid for wedding function they offers a free changing room and. Overnight stay room for the couple.

Service 10/10. Rooms 8/10. Breakfast 9/10. Internet speed 5/10. Price level, a little pricey. Overall value 7/10. Restaurant, a little pricey, not good vegetarian alternatives on the menu, but I am sure they can make if you ask. Nice pool area. Nice location and view to the Kandy valley, white Buddha statue on the hill etc.

Had a very nice experience in this elegant if slightly worn big hotel on the hillside. It's an easy walk to the lake, a good night club, the temple, and downtown. The food, especially the breakfast buffet and the set menu dinner, was incredibly delicious. The staff do tend to hover a bit more than I care for. Our room was very quiet despite overlooking the lake and its traffic. The shower was not very warm however. This hotel has a general friendly feeling and I'll come back.

The hotel is located in hill overlooking Kandy lake. May be due to limitations of space or structural constraints for building in Hill, it doesn't give a feeling of good Hotel. The view from the hotel is marvellous. Staff are great and smile always. These things can be improved: The door locks suck! Food is disappointing, we were told Indian food is available but none of Indian food comes closer to shape, size, taste of Indian food. Breakfast is again can be improved. Lobby area is full of table / chairs and difficult to manoeuvre around, may be arranged so for bus full of tourists check in at one go. Room service menu can be improved drastically. If they can introduce few more Italian dishes, it will help many foreign tourists,

Nice place to stay. As it is a 3star hotel they are giving good service. And you can have a very good view of lake from here and also you can see Buddha statue from here. Calm and peace.

A very very awesome hotel with awesome view from the room, very good food for all the tourists from all the places. Personally I enjoyed the dinner over there with my better half a lot. Pleasant environment, humble staff and cleaniness is awesome. I prefer to stay whenever I come to Kandy Srilanka.

Star hotel for those would like to have enjoy Kandy city, Temple of tooth with ample space for leisure, nature & parking. Staffs are friendly & guide you well. Rooms are in good condition even though hotel was build sometime back. For Best viewing, book Royal Pavilion 960 Room.

Hotel in city of quality, good service catering, however small pool and not accessible but especially unheated.

Clean and large room. Adequately hot water but not the hottest. Wi-Fi a little temperamental in room. Limited selection of tea and coffee offered. Staff friendly. Breakfast and a la carte dinner average.

Great place with nice rooms, great restaurant by the pool side with a wide variety of food for breakfast and spacious toilets. It's a little expensive and I didn't like the fact that they charged my credit card before check in time. Check out the gem store in the hotel with exquisite gems and for affordable prices.

Short version: Lied and said there was a water issue (aka they overbooked), moved us to a dramatically worse hotel for the same rate. Hotel Thilanka are scammers. We arrived from Dambulla where we'd been scammed by Thilanka Resort & Spa in the same exact way, where we were told that due to a water issue in the hotel there were no rooms available. They then stated that we were going to stay at the same hotel, just up the hill, and would get a free dinner for compensation.
The… "same hotel" ended up being Lee's Holiday Inn, a 2 star (at best) hotel with huge mildew stains, dirty towels, dirty walls, stained sheets, and no hot water. Again, I'd like to state this is the exact same thing that happened with Thilanka in Dambulla 24 hours previously. Before we gave up on the atrocious hotel room and went to an AirBnB, we decided to stay by the pool at Thilanka since we were still officially checked in. While we were there, a worker shattered a wine bottle directly poolside, whose glass clearly had fallen in the pool. Rather than drain the pool or close it for more than 5 minutes, they had another worker undress and feel around with his bare hands on the bottom, while a senior worker pointed at the glass. Not a minute after the pool opened, 5 young children were swimming in this pool.

What a fabulous hotel. I highly recommend it. We had a room with a 180 degree view over Kandy. The people and staff can’t help you enough. The food was beautiful and such a variety for all tastes. ***** that’s a 5* from us. I would love to go back.

Another great hotel with wonderfully spacious rooms. People say that the rooms are "outdated" are completely wrong. It is like when you visit a museum or a lived in hotel/house whatever it is "dated". You have to realize that you are a guest there and you should show more respect. If you want luxury you should stay at home (my opinion). So back to the hotel: people were very friendly AND professional and we made some friends there with whom we talk to on a regular basis. Very helpful too because one of the ladies my girlfriend and I befriended pointed us to a wonderful guide that showed us the hidden gems and architecture of Kandy. Conclusion if you ever visit Kandy book at this hotel, you won't forget it.

Its a very good Hotel with a swimming pool and a Bar. One of the very few places in Srilanka where you find Shisha (Hookah). Rooms were really good and cozy. Service was really good too. Staff — very kind. We arrived late to the hotel to they offered us a free Dinner buffet. With live music. It was a very good gesture.

Nice looking place. Monkeys are cute but can be aggressive. Keep your door locked — they know how open them. Shame that the hot water is a joke and the roof leaks if you run your air conditioner too long.

One of the best locations and hotels in Kandy we have stayed in. Have a look at the Royal Pavillion which has some secrets to offer. We loved the food here and can only recommend this hotel.

Cousin's wedding was there last week. Working with hotel staff is so easy as they are very friendly. Food is tasty and price is reasonable. The view near the pool is amazing. Whole kandy town can be seen there. But the parking facility should be expanded…

This hotel is definitely one of the best hotels not only in Kandy but also the entire Sri Lanka. I really enjoyed my stay at the royal pavilion suites during my trip to Sri Lanka last month. The views of the lake and Kandy town were breathtakingly good, the food at the buffet was delicious and the staffs were friendly. Really want to stay at this hotel again if I visit Kandy again in my next Sri Lanka trip including walking around the magnificent Kandy lake and visiting the tooth temple for the daily drum ceremony. Highly recommended!

Great events venue with extremely helpful staff. Nice views with a good pool. Rooms are moder and spacious. Food was fantastic. Has a nice aryuvedic spa with properly trained therapists.

I like it. It has a calm and relaxed atmosphere and a beautiful view of Kandy and it's surrounding nature. Rooms are big and well equipped. Just lacking warm water in the morning. The pool and it's sundeck are wonderful!

Nice pool and the bar offers good quality beverages and cocktails according to your choice and from the deck one can have a good look of the Kandy town. Restaurant and food quality is superb. Very nostalgic place for me, remember staying with my family in 1988 as a kid. This time I came with my own kids. Very family friendly hotel and staff, ask for the pool side rooms they have the best view of the lake and a very good breeze too. Bathrooms are not updated but they were clean. Good choice of food for everyone. They said meat is Halal but it was made with Red wine sauce. So we ate only sea food which was delicious. Don't expect your typical continental food or Arabic food. It's mostly local food with couple of continental dishes. Can have a better choice for desserts. Overall it's a good place to stay if you are not too fussy.

It is a nice hotel with comfortable and spacious rooms and plenty of bed space if you book a triple room (in case you are travelling with 2 kids). The manager was very cooperative and the hotel staffs were really friendly. The hotel served exquisite buffet breakfast with a mix of Srilankan delicacies and English gourmets The hotel offered elaborate buffet dinner on Christmas Eve (they charged extra dollars) but entertainment galore and its free! Only flaw which we experienced was with the Wi-Fi which is not provided in your rooms. Overall a pleasant stay and nice experience.
