Kodev Hotel

Kodev glamping experience was so amazing and this is a place you must visit if you really want to feel Glamorous Camping. Kodev staff is one of the coolest staff I have ever met and they will definitely make your stay a memorable one. Their sustainability initiatives must be admired and we felt really proud of witnessing this beautiful site. Foods are the best part of our stay and I really love those kalpitiya seafood and lagoon fish. Below are few pictures we took and I would like to thank entire kodev team for being such a wonderful family and making our days wonderful!

Kodev is a perfect place for nature lovers. We loved our stay at Kodev. Food was so delicious & fresh. Staff is very good, friendly and supportive. Tents are comfortable. Highly recommended.

This place is truly fantastic with the most amazing staff and a genuinely eco-friendly outlook. My wife and I stayed there for a few days at the end of our honeymoon and had a lovely time. The tents have solid wooden floors with en-suite bathrooms, there is always hot water for showers and the tent temperature was always comfortable in the sun and at night. The food was really tasty; mostly Sri Lankan fare but a real variety so that we never had the same meal twice during our stay, even breakfast. The staff couldn't be more helpful, they dropped us off by boat at our kitesurfing school (they helped arrange lessons for us). We also did tours to see dolphins and a lagoon trip. I spent some time discussing the ecological aspect with the on-site manager and it is clear that it is not just a marketing gimmick but something the founders believe in. They started this project and are growing it slowly, adding infrastructure as they need. Water is brought in larger containers and they will refill bottles to reduce plastic, electricity is from a solar, as is hot water. They have not cleared any vegetation to build but have fitted around the landscape. This is a truly great place that deserves to be a success both on the visitor experience and their admirable approach to the business.

Beautiful location, good food, friendly staff, plenty of activities (if you wish so) or just relaxing by the lagoon… we had a great time at Kodev.

Lost in a paradise Kodev is the synonyms for paradise! The ultimate experience in Sri Lanka. I never been in a such a peaceful place. Very luxurious camps beautiful architecture. Mingle with the nature so all you can hear is the nature. It's super luxurious camp. Bathroom is so open to the nature. (Obviously you can close the blinds if you want to)
We went on a boat trip through the Dutch canal exploring nature and the lagoon done by Dutch in early 17th century. Such a peaceful journey.
The food is amazing. Fresh sea food was served. Loved the BBQ sea food specially the crab. The different cuisine served including very delicious breakfast.
The staff is polite and friendly and always very helpful.
The location is very easy to find and 2 hours drive from colombo. It was a hassle free route. There is s boat journey to kodev and the adventure begins at that point.
We will definitely visit Kodev many more times! Will never get enough of that experience.

We spent 3 fantastic days there. Luxury camping with great food in a secluded location. Wild donkeys roaming around, while the staff ensures that you enjoy every moment. Options to go whale watching, kite surfing, Safari, etc nearby. Only 3 tents (max 9 guests) make it a very exclusive place. Can only recommend this also very eco-friendly place.

The place is more than paradise, time almost stops there. You can expect luxurious accommodation in tents with a wild view and also delicious sea food, vegetables and fruits. The service is incredibly friendly and makes you feel as if you were in a 5* hotel. Also Chanuka is an extremely friendly host who is capable to answer any question about the region, local culture and much more. I recommend the visit especially for couples, the place has an amazing romantic atmosphere.

Truly commendable service! We were waited on hand and feet, brought fresh towels to wash our salty faces after every venture into the windy lagoon and a dinner to delight afterwards, keeping us refreshed and refuelled. Chan, the owner/manager, boasts a wealth of knowledge on the surrounding area and knows how to please first-time explorers with an array of activities including boat tours through the mangroves, friendly expeditions on jungle safari's, and a windy land of milk and honey; kite surfing paradise. Peaceful, patient, and punctual, the staff outdid themselves and exceeded our expectations. The food was fantastic and the tent was our own little escape from the elements with great bathroom facilities. The boat ferried us across the lagoon at no extra cost and picked us up with cold beers. What more is there to say…? Would recommend to any kitesurfer or anyone looking for a peaceful sanctuary away from the business of everyday life. Keep in mind it is windy (which is what we wanted) so maybe bring a pair of earplugs for the tent as when it picks up at night, like any tent, the fabric can start to luff. I was fine but my girlfriend is not a deep sleeper so she just used her earplugs from the flight and she was fine. A pleasure to stay with these guys and cant wait to go back!

We spent 3 days in Kodev in June and I can quite honestly say that these were the most amazing and memorable days in my life! The place is an absolute paradise, the views are stunning, it's very authentic and close to nature. Everything in Kodev is driven by the idea of sustainability, the electricity and hot water come from solar power (they also have a backup generator in case of emergency) and the hotel ground has been left with its original shrubs and mangroves and other wildlife (including couple of wild donkeys, which I'm told is normal to this part of Sri Lanka).
There is no trace of the overcrowded and noisy, manicured, brick and concrete tourist resorts. Every morning we woke up to the sounds of the lagoon and the sight of the stunning beach and the colourful kites on the other side of the lagoon. The staff were extremely helpful and went out of their way to make this holiday extra special for us. They even arranged a barbeque dinner just for the two of us — we had a beautifully set table on the beach, just the two of us in the romantic light of the lanterns. The food was always local and fresh — such as pineapples, papaya, and crabs and fish caught just a few hours before from the lagoon. There was huge choice of dishes and always in abundance and cooked to perfection. The accommodation is luxurious, yet keeps you as close to nature as possible — I couldn't quite grasp the idea of luxurious camping until I experienced it myself — and I absolutely loved it.

Kodev is an absolute essence of a miraculously crafted masterpiece blended with an amazing touch of nature. I spent the most beautiful 2 nights of my life there & still I'm struggling to take back my soul sunk over this paradise. From the very moment u get in to that boat to the island u will feel like u r just getting closer to the most luxurious & amazing travel experience ever. This is one place that I truly wish if I could stop time to freeze that breath taking view from …my luxury tent. These two gentlemen Chanuka & Anuja will personally attend to your requirements & arrange the most amazing island experience to make sure that you remain mesmerized in every second u spend at Kodev accompanied by the most humble & disciplined staff to serve u with an ulterior respect & care.
