Good small hotel Location is ok if you have a transportation mean Swimming pool and rooms are very good value for money (55usd) Restaurant is not a restaurant but a stop for tourist buses. They flow by dozens.

Very friendly service. Clean and calm place. Very good food verity. Highly recommended.

Good food & coolest place to stay in middle of Long journey.

This is a good place to stay if you are travelling to Polonnaruwa to see the ancient city, good facility, good food and excellent service from the staff.

Stayed there 2 nights, very neat and clean place. The chalets are very spacious with high ceilings, have good beds and a bathroom I would like at my home, with a good shower with pressure and hot water, which is a rare thing in Sri Lanka. Nice green environment all around and a nice pool. Yes you might find a few bugs and a lizard but that comes with the green. The staff is very friendly and the service is just superb, they go beyond to please you, very friendly manager too. The only reason I did not have 5 stars was because I was disappointed with the food that was served in the evening from the menu. Tried a steak which was tasteful give them that but very though, but that's the thing with most beef in Sri Lanka. Also tried spaghetti, this I didn't like at all, way to much of a bad tasting sauce. It's a shame because the breakfast was good and the buffet for lunch was just amazing. So I know they can do it better.

This place is just a tourist trap. Thidas Arana has hotel and restaurant. The hotel is look nice, but rooms are full of bugs and lizards, which are all over the place. Restaurant is overpriced with extremely bad food. Staff is friendly, however is trying to scum you at any opportunity. This is just a tourist trap and need to be avoided.

This is a convenient location to see Polonnaruwa and its ancient ruins. Very comfortable, modern and relatively new chalets by a paddy field gives you the feel of living in the village. Rooms are larger than average and has contemporary architecture worth mentioning. No complaints about the food and service, though there is room for improvement. The last upstair chalet in particular is very private. The pool is kept well but you may get bitten by very tiny bugs from the paddy fields, who will join you in the evening for a swim.

The Hotelrooms are beautiful, a large bathroom with shower. The Pool looks reallynice, but the water wasn't clear, more milky, so we didn't swim. You can have Western or Sri Lanken Breakfast. At noon they have a buffet, where you can eat as much as you want, but you can order as well from the menue card. They have a big Restaurant place, for tourist groups who are coming to lunch time. The food is good, but not special. At Dinner time it is quiet, there moastly only hotel guests at the restaurant. They also have a small Bar with the basic cocktails.

Really a nice place. Rooms, pool, cleanliness and hospitality are great. Food is very good. But better to have some improvements.

Super facility with very nice and typical rooms. Unfortunately, the kitchen still has a lot of "air" up.

Firstly, the ambience at Tides Arena is nice. It has got a good swimming pool in one corner. The landscaped garden is a treat to the eyes. The four chalets are located at the back of the land next to a rice (paddy) field. Each consists of two well furnished rooms — one on each floor. The restaurant is at the front just behind the open car park. Parking is generally adequate. Restaurant serves good food.

Lovely chalet accommodation among rice paddies, with an excellent restaurant attached. All the staff were great, we were particularly grateful to Mr W. W. Dissenayake who helped care for a guest who suffered an ant bite in the nearby Polunnaruwa ruins.

Food quality and service good. Relaxed atmosphere. However if there is a private function in the adjoining hall, disturbances are very high because no soundproofing.

Hey it's got my name on it, no doubt it's excellent.

Simply superb by every mean. Never experience such a worm hospitality in any hotel so far. From check in to check out everything was perfect, all the staff members are so friendly and helpful. If I not mention the manager it will not be a fair review. He is a great asset to the hotel and what I observe was he is a great leader and coach to the team. Also I can give a big plus to Head chef's skills. All meals are superb. Specially my daughter love all the food items. Surely we will be visiting this place again and…

Great place situated a short drive away from Polonnaruwa town. Good food and great rooms which are large, modern and contemporary. All the basics of good Bedding, washrooms with amenities, cable tv, tea/coffee facilities, AC etc.

A work and friendly welcome. Very professional.

We were well cared for. A very helpful manager with good organisational skills and able to speak excellent english. The views over the lake were stunning with a variety of wild life. We spent a very enjoyable three days.

This restaurant has a large parking area where you can even park large buses. It has a large dining area and a nice bar just next to it. I like the open area of the restaurant where you can relax after a long journey. They serve breakfast, lunch and dinner. The lunch is served as a buffet. You can have Sri Lankan sweets here. The restrooms are clean and well maintained. There are few rooms and a swimming pool.

Very very nice hotel with extremely friendly staff, the rice and curry is tradional and a great taste! You can even see peacocks strolling trough the ricefields :)

Just had lunch, it was simply perfect. Food taste, quality, service everything really really spot on, thanks guys keep up with the good work. Forgot mentioned service staff really friendly.
