ATTENTION Fingers away from Iberostar — excessively overbooked: We have booked Iberostar Cala Barca via booking and received confirmation from both booking and hotel. Shortly before the start of the trip (no free cancellation possible) we learned via booking that the hotel is overbooked. We and booking have been trying to reach the hotel for hours. The management left a message to booking that they can only take care of this case from 15.08. Because the management is on vacation! What is this? We booked the flight from Linz to Mallorca on 14.08. And booked the hotel from 14. — 21.08. Unfortunately, it doesn't help us at all if the management doesn't want to take care of it until 15.08. We tried to call there again, came first to the booking center, who said that they did not know that any hotel of the Iberostar chain was overbooked. Then we got directly connected to the hotel and asked if we would get our rooms. The lady said, yes, the rooms are booked. Is that a joke now? We were a little confused as to why we were then informed by booking that they were overbooked and we would not get the room. The lady said that she had to inquire and then explained to us that they actually didn't have a room for us and that they could offer us another one, but at the other end of Mallorca. When asked to connect with the management, she said that they could do nothing for us! It could reconnect us to the headquarters. Now we are here, with 4 children and 2 adults, who were so looking forward to the well-deserved holiday and do not even know what will happen next.
We see this as an absolute naughtiness and unacceptable. For those who are still considering booking, fingers off Iberostar!
