Second consecutive year staying at this hotel at the same time. We traveled two adults and two children. Knowing the fact that in 2018 will close the hotel for renovations we were afraid that the service and facilities were half-gas, but it was not. A very good stay this year as well. A perfect hotel for families and to disconnect from everything. A quality/price relationship that is hard to beat.
The check-in process is very easy. As members of the Dune Club last year we were upgraded to a Senior Suite with two bedrooms and two bathrooms. This year was not so and we stayed with our Suite "standard". At first we took a small disappointment because one gets used easy to upgrades, but the truth is that the room was well located in front of the pool at the top in a very quiet area and the arrangement of the beds between the room and the EST room Ar was very good so we didn't need more space. What was not missed was the fresh fruit tray in the room and the thank you card for coming back. Thanks a lot.
Hotel facilities: The common areas of gardens are incredible: palm trees, plants, clean walks, … The impeccable swimming pools with several air-conditioned and other cold water. The cleanliness of the services in common areas is to be highlighted although the hotel was complete (+ 900 people). In relation to the occupation, there has been no stress. It facilitates the fact that as guests coming from many countries the habits of meal schedules etc are different and therefore there were no agglomerations.
Meals: We were staying in all inclusive mode. Compared to last year's experience, we believe that this year the quality has risen slightly. Lots of variety for breakfast (alternate days of natural juices, eggs cooked at the moment, pastries, fruits, yoghurts, …). For the meals perhaps the variety is not so wide but there were always countless salads (some already prepared and always the possibility of doing yours to your liking), some soup/cream, several dishes of meat and fish, as well as meat and grilled fish. I could not miss the paste and the rice and vegetarian dishes. Fruit and desserts, ice cream, … I think a lot more can't be ordered. As for dinners, varied days with themes (Mexico, Asia, International, Canary Islands, Italy, …). It is good to change and you can see a great job in the kitchen with roasts, varied starters, second courses according to the theme as well as desserts. Wine has improved relative to last year. It was almost undrinkable last year and was allowed to drink this year. I would like to highlight the friendliness of the waiters and kitchen people. Always ready to help with a smile as well as to meet the needs of people with special requirements (allergies, …)
Animation: It is a group of young international people (people from Spain, Italy, Russia, Czech Rep, Bulgaria, Holland, Belgium, …) with great desire to work and strive. The musicals they organize (we agreed to Mamma Mia and House of Horror) are a demonstration of the hard work of essays and decorating tasks that they do with very limited means. They are worth it and a lot. The pool games and children's mini-club are also made almost without means but try to give the maximum. It is true that in the days during the week, it was noticed a lesser number of people of the team and the intensity of the animation went down but days of weekend gave a very high level. I would like to emphasize here the attitude and affection for the children of Ainhoa (who even with fever followed at the foot of the canyon) and the energy and sympathy of Pascha "from Russia". Thank you very much, really!
Summing up and ending. A very recommended hotel for people with family. Very good value for money. It's not a luxury hotel, not a top 5 star, but they make you feel like family despite the size and just a walk through their gardens are worth it. Don't hesitate, I don't think you'll be disappointed.
