The room was clean and the staff were friendly and helpful. To spend a weekend in Madrid and go only to sleep enough.

I haven't stayed at the hotel because they had cancel my reservation for no reason. I was surprised to receive cancellation from them the very next day that I got email confirmation. So I called them to find out why, the front desk was very rude explaining (and yelling at the end of conversation) that it didn't pass authorization. I called my bank to see my transactions, but learned that the hotel didn't even try to run my card. Be cautious booking this place and make sure that you did book it!

Stayed here two nights. One person. Double room. Affordable. Private bath. Nice staff but little English. The procedure for room keys is odd, be sure and ask but this is a nice place for cheap. Not a hostel.

This place is in a great location and has simple but adequate rooms. It's within walking distance of nearly everything one would want to see in Madrid and is very close to the Gran Via metro stop. My husband and I had a double room with private bath, and we had a view of Gran Via from our (spacious) balcony. The bedroom was fairly large, although the bathroom was tiny and obviously added on. There is a "no laundry" rule in this hotel, which unfortunately means there are no stoppers for the sink and tub. The shower had great water pressure and never ran out of hot water. One thing that I found a little difficult here was communicating with the staff — — admittedly, my Spanish is fairly limited, but I had trouble understanding the accent of the older gentleman more than anyone else I encountered in Spain! Make sure you ask him to repeat himself slowly so that you don't misunderstand the key situation (you must leave your key in a box when you leave and be let back in by a security guard late at night so that you don't have to ring the bell). Other than that, I would say this is a perfect place to stay for someone on a budget who wants something better than a youth hostel and who likes a central location.
