This was one of the worst places I have stayed at in a long time, and I would absolutely not recommend it to anyone.
First impression was good: the room was spacious, clean and with practical and nice furniture. Having a kitchen and even a small laundry machine is definitely a plus. Accessing the building and room worked fine, but it is a bit concerning that no one is there to help — older people might sturggle.
Second impression — not so great. None of the things that matter to me were up to a satisfying standard:
— First of all, I don't understand the reviews that say that the place is quiet. I was honestly thinking that the window must be open somewhere. The noise of the street was enormous (room on the 1st floor). Sleeping any longer than 5am was impossible, despite using earplugs, so I didn't rest well.
— Second: the Wi-Fi was unreliable and extremely slow. I struggled with screensharing on a Teams call. At times it took forever to load a simple website. When I checked, the downstream speed was 14Mbps, but it definitely felt worse than that most of the time.
— Third: whenever I left the room, the electricity (and AC — I was here in the fall, but could imagine this is a big issue in the warmer months) would turn off. This is a huge inconvenience. I had wanted to charge my laptop and other devices while I was out, and it just never got charged.
— Rooms are not cleaned daily. Not the biggest deal for me, but honestly, at 160 Euros a night, this is a big joke.
We really loved our stay at Sonder Sofia Apartment in beautiful Madrid. The neighborhood was quiet, safe, and close to tourist attractions as well as great restaurants. The apartment was spotless, and the bed was extremely comfortable — perfect after long days exploring the city.
The only drawback was the self check-in process, which felt more complicated than it needed to be. If extra forms and data are required, it would be better to collect them in advance or automatically from booking. Com.
Overall, a great stay in a convenient and comfortable apartment — just a smoother check-in would make it perfect.

This place felt like a home away from home—perfect for a slow, comfortable stay in Madrid. The room was spacious and thoughtfully equipped with everything you need: plates, cutlery, microwave, and even a washing machine, which made traveling feel so much easier and lighter.
Location-wise, it’s very convenient—just a few minutes’ walk to the nearest metro station and also close to the main train station, making day trips and moving around super hassle-free.
The only downside is that room service and cleaning are available upon request and with a fee, so it’s not daily housekeeping like a hotel. Still, for space, comfort, and convenience, it was a great stay for us.
