Parador de Ceuta

Clean but dated, quite noisy, right next to the army base so expect to hear trumpets. Breakfast is really really bad. No eggs, only cold cuts, no coffee, machine is broken and they only have decaf pods. I think it’s very tight for least worst between this and the Ulyses.

I had read reviews before going and wasn’t expecting too much, I was happily surprised. Had a lovely clean room with great views, staff were mostly very helpful and accommodating. Pool area lovely. Had breakfast both mornings and it was very good and plenty to choose from. Ok bathroom door was a bit stiff to shut but it certainly didn’t bother us, that is the only thing I can think of to say negative about it, which really didn’t matter to me. Central location near to some great restaurants and bars. Had a lovely stay. Thankyou.

Located in a beautiful square in the centre of town it is well positioned for the town and the beach. This hotel has wonderful views over the Mediterranian. We had a room with a terrific view of Gibraltar rock. The staff are very friendly, efficient and professional. The rooms are spotless and comfortable. It is not the cheapest but worth the extra that you pay.

I had a really enjoyable stay at the Parador of Ceuta. The hotel is in a fantastic location, right in the heart of the city, with beautiful views over the port and just steps away from the historic old town. The building itself has real character, blending modern comfort with a sense of history—especially with the ancient city walls integrated into the grounds.
My room was spacious and clean, with a great balcony and all the essentials for a comfortable stay. Breakfast was generous and varied, with plenty of local touches. Staff were professional and welcoming throughout.
A great base for exploring Ceuta, whether you're visiting for business or leisure. Would definitely stay again.

Apr25: Two night business trip. Rooms clean, spacious and comfortable. Service is excellent as is the location. Evening meal and breakfast are top quality.

This hotel is in a nice, convenient area, but it was built 70 years ago and had had very little improvements since.
The historical nature of the company with its preservation goals and unique historic facilities was the reason I booked this hotel. The facility is a gem of it's period in design, however the facility needs maintenance.

Our room was a bit small, but it was comfortable enough. I agree with previous reviewers who said that the hotel and the rooms were a bit old fashioned. The bed was comfortable and there was little noise. The Wi-Fi was not consistent, and frequently the connection dropped. We had a good view of the Straits of Gibraltar and the view of the sun on the east side of Gibraltar was great. The breakfast was very good. Staff were very pleasant and helpful. The location is excellent, being equidistant between the ferry terminal and the main squares in the centre of town. The Plaza de Africa is a magnificent square right outside the main door of the Parador. The Murallas Reales, the Royal Walls, Ceuta’s most impressive sight, are less than 5 minutes away. I guess that we are too used to staying in apartments or studios. We stayed in 34 apartments or studios in 2024 and only 3 hotels.

Although this is my second stay at a Parador, I would highly recommend this one when visiting the Spanish autonomous city of Ceuta in Northern Africa. The staff were all friendly and kind, and the view from the room made the stay in Ceuta truly worthwhile. The location is undoubtedly the best, as all the Paradores are located in the most prestigious parts of their perspective towns.

I stayed here at the Hotel for 2 nights, whilst visiting Ceuta. The only downside was the 'Drain smell' in my room (although I left the door open, which helped get rid of it). The hotel is a bit old fashioned in regard to the furniture and the very big key fob, which did weigh a bit… However, there are many positives. My room was a good size and had a comfy bed. The view from the Balcony was very nice (Pool Side) and it was nice to just sit on the balcony and relax. The bathroom was adequate size and clean. There is a safe, TV, aircon and minibar in the room (which was not to pricey), but that was about it. There was no noise from the outside (although, it was winter time and outside pool area was closed).
The hotel has a bar, which was well stocked and reasonably priced. We had breakfast on the morning we left. There was the usual buffet style and also a choice of cooked breakfast. All of which was nice.
The staff were friendly and helpful.
The selling point for me was the price and location of the hotel. It is a 10/15 min walk from the ferry port and a short walk into town/ tourist attractions.
I would stay here again if I visit Ceuta.

I like the hotel very clean and nice. They offer a very good breakfast, and the rooms are very clean.

Very good breakfast, friendly staff, nice pool and outdoor area. Loved our sea view from our royal balcony. Downside is that the hotel is somewhat outdated. However there is very little choice in Ceuta, so still the best we have had so far.

This was a return visit but we brought friends. The hotel and rooms are very clean. Beds are comfortable. We had a view over the pool and towards Africa. The staff are very friendly and helpful we was even allowed to leave our luggage for a few hours after we checked out at no charge. The checking in process at the front desk is a bit long winded. We will be returning to Ceuta and will be staying again at the Parador De Ceuta.

The place was OK but not worth the price. Outdated, not the most hygienic. But the staff were absolutely lovely. Top service from them. I wish the room was better.

The room was clean and spacious but very basic. There was an incredible view from the suite very panoramic. Breakfast buffet didn’t have any eggs which I found weird but at least it had lactose free milk. The two server ladies at the breakfast buffet were really nice and helpful even though they didn’t speak English.

We stayed at this hotel in May at the start of the summer season. It is an OK hotel but is in need of modernisation. No modern room key cards here. Big bulky old fashioned brick keys which weigh you down if you try to carry the key in your pocket.
The rooms are serviced and cleaned daily but TV doesn’t work. The mini bar however in the rooms is very cheap.
The beds are sadly rock hard. I had back ache by the end of the first night of our week long stay.
As for breakfast, there is a good choice of breakfast but they do not advertise the cost of breakfast and seem to make it up day-day.
Being the start of the summer season, it was disappointing the pool was not available. The city pool was however available, but forget asking the male members of staff if you can borrow a hotel towel to take to the city pool. We was told no even though when we challenged them what would we use if the hotel pool was open, they replied the hotel towels!
As for the staff, the women are very friendly, but the male members of staff are not so pleasant and you can tell they have worked here many years and the younger members of staff or women seem scared to challenge them.
It’s ashame I couldn’t rate this hotel higher as it has potential which needs a leader with a vision to unlock its potential through a modernisation programme and replacing some members of the team.

Second time in this hotel. If you can get a room facing the port, it's awesome watching the ferries arriving. Large room, with excellent very large beds and high quality linens. My only disappointment was that the second time, the shutters were broken, and the heat was off for the season. I was offered a space heater, which I thought was a good solution BUT it ended up being broken.
Great great location.

All seems to be easy and customers feel welcomed in such a nice place.
