Horrible service! We have booked for 3 nights in this hostel and as everyone is aware of, the whole world is shutdown due to Covid-19.
Our flights were refunded and all europeans countries banned flights.
So we asked Hostal Balkonis to refund us or at least to be flexible and push the dates to another stay but they refused so they kind of stole our money! Literally, this is called theft!
Even their replies were very rude over the e-mails.
Watch out people for this hotel, it can literally steal your money!

Very nice welcome, great rooms. Beautiful Roof Top Terrace. Everything you need is in the vicinity. Metro 2 min, Bus 2 min. Can only recommend it.

Very good service, well located, comfortable rooms, bright and, in our case, with balcony to the street and was not noisy for nothing. Would and already have recommended it. Stay beautiful.

Hotel very well located, clean and comfortable bed. No one at the very nice reception and informed us well about the sites to visit.

The staff was great. Here you feel very welcome. The room was small and functionally furnished. But it's all there you need and a bit more. It is clean and centrally located. Perfect for a weekend getaway in Barcelona. I would book it again. Thanks again to the reception staff.

We stayed in a standard room. It was little more than box with a bed in. There was a cubbard, but very few places to hang clothes and put your things. Also, the shower was overflowing into a floor without a drain, and the hallway outside our room constantly had the a smell of an unwashed kitchen. However, the room was clean, and we got new towels every day for the 7 days we spent there. So, if you are looking for nothing more than a place to crash, then this may be the place for you — as the location is great. The staff was very friendly and helpfull. There was however, two major issues, and both are safety related. Firstly, there was no emergency exit. The main exit was labeled fire exit. And in case of fire we would have had no exit from the 5th floor where we were staying. Not even through the window as it opened into a light shaft, which was deep and had no fire escape ladder. Also, there seemed to be no smoke detector in our room. Secondly, the elevator door stop did not seem to work. I was hit by the door twice, and my wife got it slammed in her face once. I would not feel safe with children in that elevator. The place is not horrible, but for such a price you expect much much more. I would look for another place, and would not suggest this hostel. But it is seems to be a fact that in Barcelona you pay a lot for very little when it comes to accommodation.

Good, clean, budget hotel. The neighborhood itself is nothing special, but it's conveniently located for visiting many parts of the city. Street noise isn't bad and the blackout curtains are amazingly effective. Staff is friendly and helpful. Good value.

Really good hostel for the price in Sant Antoni, Barcelona! Lots of light in the room, parking nearby and great staff. Rooms are cleaned everyday.

The staff was very friendly and helpful. I am happy to be a client of Hostal Los Balkonis.

What I liked: nice structure, suggestive, very tactical position: From here you reach most of the sights of the center in 10/15 minutes on foot. Probably if you are travelling in two or more people, it is a very cozy facility. Too bad that my single traveler experience did not match very well.
What I did not like: the Habitación 2. The problem of this room is not the fact that probably a time was a closet, it is not even the complete lack of light, the heating is not functioning, the location between the reception, active 24/7 and the hallway, nor the bathroom, whose door does not close and whose window does not open, or the fact that it is without a curtain, making you visible from the room above, in the most glorious moments of awakening.
The real problem of Room 2 is the complete, total and absolute lack of privacy: Consider sleeping in a hallway and sharing every moment with the receptionist/roommate (24/7), because from there you hear and make everyone feel. Luck wished that the first morning I woke up with the bathroom flooded, due to an infiltration of water from upstairs (as well).
The courteous receptionist/flatmate gave me, then, a great room, but that unfortunately had not been contemplated in my reservation. Attention, therefore, to book by yourself and the word "super offer" of booking, because of super there is only the catch.

Very good service and Staff very welcoming. Friendly place close to the three major places University, Spain and Catalunya. The only remark: the beds are not comfortable.

Everything perfect clean courtesy and professionalism I recommend it to everyone.

Excellent service, very helpful to solve any inconvenience, good location, the Airbus to a block, many shops around, no luxuries but complete.

Very pleasant stuff. Marijana and Oscar are very hospitable, open for any help and advices how to spend time in Barcelona. Room was clean and bed was comfortable. However it wants that quite as I expected in the evenings and the room was little bit cold. But I would recommend this place anyways because of location! I was traveling alone so for me it was nice experience to stay there.

Went with friends to see Barça game … staff fantastic… location 8 minute walk to Ramblas… right next to supermarket cafè Metro tabak shop bakery and pubs… comfy… quiet… the Boss is a cool guy intelligent down to earth… I know where I will be staying next time… … and… we had an extra bed installed in the room as well! Thank you Hotel Balkonis.

The location is very good, the staff are very friendly and friendly. They clean up well. The room we had was small but with its bathroom. If you walk all day in Barcelona and come there to sleep is a very good option for such money.

We spent an excellent stay in this small hotel, unpretentious but with a lot of charm. The staff is really great, the housekeeping is impeccable and we had a home truly extraordinary. We will not forget Oscar, who has given us a very warm welcome, thank you very much, sincerely.

Really enjoyed staying here. At first We Had trouble with the online booking but the employees there worked it out professionally via telephone and even upgraded us to an apartment. At our arrival the host Oscar was giving us tons of helpful information and making us feel very much at home. The rooms were cleaned every day which we hadn't even expected from a hostel. The location of the hostel is perfect as it is not in the middle of a loud and touristic area but yet only a 2-3 minute walk from trendy neighborhoods. There is a supermarket right when you come out and a great bakery across the street. Overall perfect four stay. Thanks Oscar! We will come back soon.

A tiny room, didn't like it, I recommend it.

So clean, so central, so friendly. Our reservation was upgraded for free to a room with private terrace just because it was available. The cleaning lady took care of our room daily and the air conditioner was perfect for the hot weather outside. I did not expect this level of service. The receptionist was so kind and recommended us some landmarks to check out. After the long, hot sweaty road from the airport 2 bottles of refreshing water await you in your room — free! The towels are clean, the soap/shower gel/shampoo are quite good and sofa is comfortable. The location is everything and this hotel has it. We walked our way through Barcelona and the hotel was in the middle of our points of interest.

Great service. The rooms are small, but you get what you pay for.
