Review of Ilunion Les Corts Spa 4*

Very pleasant staff took care of us and and any problems we had were resolved instantly. The location is close to the nou camp stadium but not that close that it had any effect on our stay (there was a match on the first night no problems at all) even though the hotel is in the same street! You can get a open top tour bus from outside the nou camp that costs €85 for 2 days and well worth the money. You will see the whole of Barcalona using this method, the busses are frequent like every 10 mins or so. You pay on the bus and they accept credit/debit cards and it takes you everywhere that is worth seeing unlimited. There are options for as many days as you need. The train station is a 5 min walk and it costs €10.20 for 2 people and gives you access to buses, trains and trams ulimited for the day. We thought that was amazing value for money until we found the tour bus which makes life so much easier due to the trains being very busy (think London in rush hour permanently and your close) so I highly recommend the tour bus as it drops you at all the top attractions/museum's with out the hassle of finding where you are when leaving the under ground. The hotel food was amazing and fresh. We travel alot and we both agreed that the food was in our top 5. It has plenty of variety that will satisfy even the one in the group that always moans about the food (me). My only gripe with staying here was the spar. It was very over priced for what it was. We paid for an upgrade on our room thinking we could use the spar as part of the room… The room has spar towels and robes but you have to pay to get in. Needless to say everytime we went down to take a look it was empty. Now my only complaint! The pool was closed! For me and the wife the pool is a must. We were never told it would be closed, when we booked nothing was said. This was really disappointing. The reason for it being closed was it is out of season we think! So it's the end of April and it was 26 degrees but it's out of season. In England that's a heat wave. Very disappointed with that. Apart from that it's a clean place and the staff are great, I would recommend this hotel no problems. Just get rid of the stoopid rule of the pool and I would have give 5*.
