Hostal Baires Hotel

Simply horrific. Avoid! Noisy, dirty, too hot. The shared bathrooms are filthy. No AC in the rooms but they got one in the corridor for their reception! Do not care about their guest comfort. My room was dirty after check in with hair on my bed. Downstairs is street full of bars — impossible to sleep as drunk people are screaming but it's too hot to close the windows.

Nice hostel. We booked a twin room. It was very clean. Its not the most modern hostel in the world but we didnt really care because we only came there to sleep. Considering the price we had absolutely nothing to complain about. Its in the gotic quarter and its pretty crowded there. Despite this, we had no noise disturbance. I would definitely recomend this hostel!

I guess 1 star is enough for this place. The ONLY good thing that its very near to everything.

Cockroaches everywhere every night of my stay. Plus side — — it was a private room for 40 euros a night.

Positive: + The location is super Central, right in the old town that was also the only positive aspect of this hostel.
Negative: — old, worn-out and partly broken furniture, through mattress — no daylight in the room — broken plastic window held together with tape. The window always geqietscht at steps in the hallway (very strange), sleeping without earplugs was not possible!
— Hardly any hooks and/or storage facilities in the room, no toilet paper or towel racks — unfriendly greeting after we arrived at night, as our flights were immensely late — previous calls were not accepted to notify, mails were Also not answered — on the first arrival it took more than 10 minutes until the door was opened (no nice greeting after strenuous arrival) — we never noticed the breakfast, as there seemed to be only rusks — it was said that the towels after 2 Days. Even after 4 days we did not get any new-the toilet paper was also not replenished — the hostel is worth the price of over 60 €/night No if value. Never again! Definitely no recommendation! Terrible dive!

Cheap, but clean and well organized, strategic location between downtown and waterfront.

No aircon, noisy bedside fan, little effort to make room look good, grumpy Old man at front desk… good Hot water, nice clean rooms, good location.

Nothing more call to be attended only received screams and bad answers from a man who says to call Antonio, is regrettable… a penalty thus meet.

If you get a room with windows/balcony toward the street, be prepared to not get any sleep until 3-4 AM in the weekends. The rooms are not at all soundproof. That goes for inside as well. Be prepared to listen in on the conversations going on in the hallway and in your neighbouring rooms. The price is reasonable considering how central the location is. The Ramblas (main street) is only a short walk away. The service is excellent. Rooms were cleant every day to our satisfaction. Overall, very happy with the stay. Lots of cozy places to drink and eat right outside.

Good location, rooms smallish but acceptable, daily cleaning of the rooms, breakfast, bathroom a little baby. Great price.
