This hostel is a gem, close to the beach and with lovely staff. They took the great step of putting curtains in the beds so you have your own space.

Excellent experience at Pension Altair! Minimalistic space, but great value for the price in this expensive town.

It had a quiet, very clean room, with a very comfortable bed and pillows. Had several electrical plugs, which was useful for charging phone and laptop. Wireless worked perfectly.

Friendly, helpful and kind owner. Wonderful hostel with great facilities and only 10 minutes from the beach.

Pleasant staff, nice clean room and generally excellent value. They have a bar downstairs which is brilliant for both supper snacks and breakfasts.

I enjoyed my stay here while walking the Camino del Norte. Service from the Reception team was excellent. The food & service at dinner and breakfast from downstairs restaurant was good too.

Fantastic hostel in a great location nearby to cafes and the cathedral. The facilities are clean and very well set up, with a drawer under your bed for storage and a locker downstairs.

Cristina at the reception is a lovely Woman. Muey bien! She did not hesitate to help and gave tips on good bars around.
Colo colo is honestly a 10/10.

I came here to learn how to surf and it was the best experience I could have hoped for.
Definitely come here if you are wanting to surf. The staff and instructors are very friendly and welcoming.

Very cool hostel, I really liked it. The girl-employee was very nice and tried very hard to help with the check in (something went wrong). Everything was cool, friendly and focused on me as a visitor.

So efficient. Quite hot in the rooms. Make sure you ask them to turn on the A/C. Laundry available. Towels for a fee. Convenient check-in and very neat atmosphere.

Rooms are small but location cannot be better and quite cozy. I give 5 because reasonable price and the host is flexible and caring.

We spend 2 nights here. Best location right in the heart of San Sebastian. The shared bathrooms are very very clean. It’s a little sweet pension. The owner is very helpful and friendly.

Surfing Extxea is a true home away from home.
From the moment I arrived, I felt completely at ease, as a woman travelling solo that is not always the case.

This place is great value without being in the center, which we preferred. It is a short walk to everything — old town, beaches, etc. Javier the owner was very accommodating and friendly.

Nice pension perfectly situated in the old Town.
The rooms are modern, clean and quite spacious. The bathroom could use more hanging options though (just one).

Straightforward check-in (albeit impersonal), clean and well-equipped room. It gets noisy outside but the windows are quite soundproof — still, ear plugs are recommended for light sleepers.

It's alright. There's only what you need. Nothing more nothing less.
Example: there's nowhere to hand your wet jacket.
