Place to disconnect and very quiet with great professionals.

The situation of the hotel is absolutely stunning! this alone is worth the money. My gripes are unfortunately you can hear everything your neighbour says or does and the hotel is marketed as "pet friendly " so it's a pity the manager hates dogs … our personal experience and it was confirmed by a member of staff. If you go here without pets take earplugs and its idyllic.

A delightfully tranquil place.

The place is very nice, an old farmhouse that they have managed to make it hotel, has clean air and animals, the rooms are rustic and very nice, the bad, is that it is not very clean, the cleanliness is the worst, the breakfast is disgusting… I'd get up early and go to Ronda for breakfast, lunch and dinner sales… It is a pity that the service is so lousy… It is wasted… Pk the scenery and the farmhouse is beautiful… But the service and lack of hygiene leave it in very bad place… I wouldn't breathe or free…

All clean, very good atmosphere. Dogs are welcome. But there's a big problem, which is that by lunchtime you can be Indiana Jones or you won't eat. Because in the impossible hotel, you don't get a hot plate until dinner, and the nearest village more of the same. Just cold tapas or sandwiches.

The experience with dogs is very cool. The staff is attentive and the rooms are ok there are no doubles for rooms with dogs. Very normal food.

Excellent treatment of the hotel managers, great kindness and availability to help with any queries.
Rural and very nice rooms with air conditioning, and the best being able to travel with my puppies. Animal friendly.

If you like rustic hotels, away from the world and in the heart of nature you will love being here, the rooms are very cozy.

Several years ago I went and today by chance I found it again, just to say that some day we will come back. If you're looking to get away from it all this is your destination.

We stayed here in June 2009. We had previously stayed in Barcelona, Valencia and Cordoba and were looking for something quite and secluded as a break before heading to Granada. Locating El Horcajo was interesting because my GPS wanted to send us to the El Horcajo in New Mexico, USA. However, the directions provided by the hotel were accurate. We loved the hotel and loved the area. To us El Horcajo looked like an old farm house, full of charm and character. There were chickens and pigs in the yard which I suspect provided at least some of our meals. Breakfasts were excellent in quality, variety and quantity. The continental breakfasts we had in Spain are a world apart from those we get in north america. Every evening we chose to have whatever was offered that day on a fixed menu. Often we had no idea what was coming but enjoyed every meal The toilet did not flush reliably, but this was 4 years ago and it may very well be fixed by now, but it did not worry us. It added to the rustic out of the way charm of the place. Everything else was perfectly fine. We did not use the pool. The weather was very hot but the thick walls of our room kept it a comfortable temperature. There was no air con or Wi-Fi at that time and I hope it has stayed that way. Some staff members spoke very little english but it was never a problem. The were unfailingly helpful and friendly. I hate the obsequiousness and phoney chat that passes for customer service in north america.
