Review of Hotel Tent Granada 4*

Stayed here with a group. Although I had specified in earlier email had booked 6 rooms & wanted more, staff seemed surprised & more than annoyed that 16 of us would turn up together for check in. We were not in a hurry to check in & no pressure was put on receptionists at all by us by they did not seem happy to see all of us together. To be fair, the same receptionists became more pleasant as our stay went on & were ultimately more friendly & helpful by the time we left. The hotel is lovely, we were all disappointed the pool & terrace area were closed mid-May. However my biggest disappointment was our room. We did receive room on high floor with a view as requested & for that I thank you sincerely. However, 2 x bottles sparkling water in mini bar had already been opened & refilled I imagine by a previous guest which I found to be quite disgusting. The seals were broken on the bottles. I didn't check the bottles of still water. This meant the minibar was obviously not checked before we moved into room. We were not charged for these bottles. The air conditioning did not work on our first night. We mentioned to reception at which stage it was repaired and/or turned on but was hit & miss for the rest of our stay. The fans never worked in the bathroom at all (we also mentioned this to reception) & at times when running the tap water the smell was unbearable. The rain shower never worked for us, just the handheld which if positioned to cover your body in water as one would expect from a shower, sprayed water right over the top of the door and onto the floor. In order to work around this, we had to position the handheld shower towards the wall & squeeze in so all the water would stay in actual shower enclosure itself. Functional but a disappointing shower overall. Other than that the rooms were lovely and the hotel decorated very nicely. Some of our group had junior suites which were lovely. I would stay here again & I would recommend as the location was ideal for us but there are improvements which can be easily made which would bump this hotel up considerably. I should state that by the end of our stay the staff appeared to have warmed to our group and were most helpful.
