Review of Pierre & Vacances Estepona 4*

We arrived late at around 1am and was met by a friendly and helpful man on reception (Antonio? ). Our room was a one bed and was very clean. We were lucky to have a balcony overlooking the pool. The room was very basic and we were self catering. The bed was two singles pushed together which is fine but the mattresses were very hard and uncomfortable. The sofa bed isn't a double so beware if that's what you're expecting… it separates into two parts. The bathroom had two sinks and a shower over a bath. The TV is not good… but we came away to have fun rather than sit in the apartment so this wasn't a problem for us. In terms of location, a car would be beneficial but if you don't drive then make sure you ask reception for a bus time table. The bus stop was a 15 minutes walk and is right by Lidl. The bus was air conditioned and only took 20 minutes to get to the main sea front in Estepona. Buses run to Estepona and Marbella. We came here in October and it was very quiet. I think groups of young adults would potentially find it a little too remote but this wasn't a problem for us. We went to the local beach and ate at Pepe's Bar. Don't eat there! It's a bloody rip off for sub standard food and poor service. Fine if you're just having drinks and plenty of Sun loungers. Pierre and Vacances is a beautiful resort and we found the staff friendly and helpful. The entertainment guy is hillarious and got us up dancing in the club. As feedback I'd recommend a small kiosk/shop rather than limited supplies behind the reception counter. We've awarded the resort 4/5 purely because the location is slightly remote. However don't let this put you off if you have a car or are willing to get buses. Lidl is 20 mins walk away. Estepona is beautiful… check out the winding streets and old town. The harbour is lovely too. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay so thank you to all the staff here at Pierre and Vacances.
