Lovely rooms and awesome staff but a huge pity about the food. Really not good at all!

A big shout-out to Henry at BI for his friendliness and beyond helpfulness. Although the view is great, most staff (other than Henry) are not super keen to help. We missed having an aircon in the room and would have liked having breakfast an hour earlier on the day of departure — when we asked for this we were answered with a very rude no. This is more of a family resort, so pools are taken up with children learning to swim and noise, not really the romantic adult resort we expected it to be.

Needs to have earlier breakfast hours
The food is awesome. Rooms are clean and spacious
Service is a little slow
Really coffee and cream for only one night without an extra charge
Internet service is the worst. You can get it for free. But it only last 5 minutes.

From when we stopped there everything was awesome staff/rooms/parking even had a safe in the room Awsome guys keep it up.

Stunning venue. Very hard not to relax here. Amazing how much fun doing nothing can be. Plenty to do if you want to. Newly refurbished rooms are fantastic.

The place is very beautiful and smell fresh air and love the see breeze.

Restaurant and room service is an absolute joke! No coke, no coffee, no brandy. What else should we try? pathetic, very unimpressed. 4 star se gat.

We were looking forward to having a nice lunch at this 5 star hotel. What a terrible disappointment! No sparkling water, no savanna light, no smirnhoff spin, no ribs. The food was awful. Calamari very tough, prawns burnt black, chips cooked in old oil. Very bad service. Had to ask for something to put prawn shells in, had to ask for wet wipes which they also didn't have and no finger bowl offered. Shocking service! No offer of replacement meals and had to pay for the shocking food that was hardly eaten. I'm shocked to the core that this hotel has 5 stars!

Gorgeous views. Well situated location. Very friendly, accommodating staff. Spacious rooms wth all the basics. Most enjoyable stay with lots to do close by.

Family hotel for a week of relaxing. For the more adventurous guests there is enough to see and to do in and around Plettenberg. If you just want to relax and be pampered, this place is also for you.

A wonderful place to come and relax and rejuvenate. I v just had a massage and now I am lying in the sun at the sea and pool on a lounger in WINTER. The weather is amazing. The rooms are comfortable and spacious and we have a sea facing room with a balcony so we hear the waves crashing all night which is so calming. There are great kids activities during peak time holidays so they are kept busy and full of fun.

Great family resort, loads of supervised activities for the kids. A couple restaurants and bars but the service is a bit slow. Blue flag beaches, shops, restaurants and activities just a few minutes walk or drive from the resort. The history of Plettenberg Bay and hotel site is very interesting. The hotel is perched on a small rocky headland with magnificent views of Robberg Peninsula, Tsitsikamma Mountains and the bay.

What a delightful place to stay! We are here for a week. From the porters who effortlessly unpack your car and take it all through to your room, to the car valet who parks your car and brings it up every time you need it, this 4 star hotel feels like 5 stars to me. Plenty of in hotel places to eat with a good selection on the menus too. The setting is perfect. The sea facing rooms literally overhang the ocean with beautiful beaches nearby. The little town has plenty of coffee shops and restaurants. Storms River to the north and Knysna to the South and Robberg round the corner what else could you wish for?

The hotel has an excellent atmosphere with live music, games and themed evenings. I was very impressed with the friendly staff and the great views. I would recommend going to the Coral Reef restaurant, downstairs. The view of the waves, crashing against the rocks, just meters away, is amazing.

Sadly very disappointed with the hotel. Room closer to 2 star in terms of furnishings and ambience. Very expensive if just staying for one night and not getting outdoors.

Remains one of the world's best holiday destinations! Best possible location with sea and beaches all around. Accommodation is first class and resort restaurants offer the best service with quality food and menus. A must when visiting Plettenberg bay! Cannot wait for our next holiday at Beacon Isle.

This was our third visit and their standards are as high as ever. The staff is friendly and efficient. Excellent facilities that caters for everybody. Entertainment is good. Both formal and informal restaurants are excellent. Will be back again and again.

I really like this place. It's got that perfect holiday feel. The restaurant and drinks lounge both have incredible views and the interiors are super comfortable and nicely decorated. The prices were less than I expected (and this was during peak season in Dec). The food was very good, my second favourite thing about this place after the views. The overall atmosphere was very chilled and relaxed. Great place for lazy lunches and afternoon drinks.

Pretty, perfect location and awesome staff. A little tired looking and in need of some tlc and maintenance. But all in all a lovely place to visit.

A busy beach with attractive people. Durring December you will find a lot of students partying the day away during Plet Rage. Long sandy beaches and great view of the bay make amazing sunset walks. Backed up by a strong Sea Rescue team you can enjoy this wilder waters with ease.

Excellent holiday destination. All the staff extremely helpful and friendly. I love the theme each day for the menu specials. Although you could order anything from the different menus and eat in any of the 3 restaurants! The view from everywhere, inside and outside is just amazing!

Good place for a holiday, there are variety of restaurants to choose from. The rooms are a bit small, but have amazing views. The swimming pools are huge, there is one inside and one outside, there is an arcade for the kids to play in. There is a bus to go to the town, however there are a few shops on the resort.

One of the best locations on the South African Coastline. Stunning views, great service, very friendly staff. Would recommend this hotel to anyone. Loved our stay and will definitely be back.

Iconic, well know popular "resort" type hotel in Plettenberg Bay. Great position, cheap food, good amenities, indoor and outdoor pool plus a whole bunch of other stuff.

Relaxing holiday atmosphere with comfortable accommodation. Holiday entertainment everyday for old and young alike. All restaurants in hotel serve good meals at related prices. Service level good and kept clean. Enjoyable werk.

The Beacon Island Resort has been regularly upgraded over recent years and is looking at it's very best lately. Excellent, friendly service and fantastic amenities set on a beautiful island with abundent marine wildlife make it the very best Southern Sun Lifestyle Resort in South Africa. Kudos to the Management Team!

This place has everything, from an indoor pool to a gym and sona. It's more of a family resort however if you are interested in having a quiet week of relaxation you will feel right at home. The food is not expensive and the staff friendly. The nature surrounding this place if what made me fall in love, it's honestly a magnificent place to get away.

Still have 2 days left but overall amazing experience. Made use of room service a lot… food always came very quickly and quality of food excellent. Staff throughout very professional and made you feel as though u were 'home'. Price of all food and beverages extremely fair. Room comfortable, clean and great view. Would highly recommend Beacon Island.

It is home away from home. The staff is absolutely amazing. It is a family resort and they cater for all ages. Love this place and all the people who wok there.

Everything was on point starting at reception, accommodation and entertainment ect. I just got annoyed after we had ordered braai Wednesday, we ate and we did not finish our food so I asked for a take away, the lady that was serving us went away to get it and she came back without it. She said that the manager told her to tell us that we are not allowed to have take ways we must take our food with the plate up to our room. To us this did not make sense after we spent almost R400 for a braai. For this reason out of 10 I will give you a 6. Thank you.

The accommodation was comfortable and clean and well serviced daily. Food was good and tasty.
Service was lacking in that it was slow and staff had to be reminded to bring forgotten condiments which took too long. The meals did not always come out the same. The staff particularly those with who have been around a long time need a refressure course.
They were however very accommodating friendly and willing and went the extra mile especially in looking after children making it possible for parents to eat undisturbed.
I am aware it is not a hotel.
All round it was a pleasant experience and I would recommend staying here.

We stayed on the top floor facing the main beach. What a beautiful view of the beach, the sea and the birds. We had our own seagull come to visit every day. It was relaxing and the restaurant food was very good, although a bit expensive if you have to have meals there every evening. The evening entertainment of live music was laid back and wonderful, including some dancing for some fun. Overall a wonderful place anytime.

We have time share there and spend a week once a year, total recharge of batteries. Hotel is always clean and staff amazing.

We visited your hotel for drinks on 8th March only to see that you offered a braai buffet on a wednesday. As it was my hubby's birthday the wednesday we decided to celebrate it at your hotel. I spoke to Theresa and asked her to surprise him when they brought the desert, All the ladies followed her and sang happy birthday to him in different languages. They sounded like a choir, He was so surprised and enjoyed the fuss. Thanks for an awesome meal and thanks for making his day so special. Kind regards Yolande and Trevor Cloete.

One of my favourite holiday destinations! Our family has been coming here for years, and the staff already feels like family. Best place to go for a relaxing beach holiday!

Best place ever staff always so willing and happy. The resort position cannot be better or closer to the beautiful sea a amaaaaaaazing with wife at beacon Isle.

Wonderful hotel, this is a fantastic getaway for families, there are so many kids activities hosted by the hotel, from fashion shows to the flavour of every day, bingo. A definite must see for all. On a negative note the hotel is extremely noisy at night due to the ovality of the design, a few acoustic solutions are required to enhance ones rest at night after all the great activities.

Stunning place with very friendly people and the view is to die for.

Dont run around too much, imagine u on an island. Enjoy the spot.
