Nice place to sleep over and it is nice and quite.

The place is so warm and has a lot of positive energy something that you can feel as you arrive. The food is so scrumptious, you can not stop eating. Marian and Paul are delightful hosts, Marian is the best vegan chef I know. We had a wonderful time there although it rained all the time we still had a wonderful time, there are lots of books to read and a great wooden deck to relax on and take in the beautiful forest. We loved it.

The most delicious vegan food I’ve ever tasted! Such a beautiful atmosphere with the labyrinth and pool, I’ll definitely be going back.

Definitely some of the best vegan food I've had. The total experience was one of tranquility, with Paul and Mariaan being very attentive to our needs. I highly recommend staying at old joes to either relax for a few days or on route to the Kruger Park and other surrounding attractions.

Really great gem in a beautiful setting. The staff was great, and the food is truly amazing! They went out of their way to make our first South African vacation memorable, and they helped us get a last minute booking to Kruger Park after we'd tried ourselves and we're told it was sold out (during the busiest time of year)! The food is vegan and a delight to any palette. An absolute treasure of a resturant hidden amongst the trees. There is also a very spiritual labyrinth. This is such a beautiful calm place. It is so sad they are closing down soon.

Such an incredible experience! Close enough to Jozi for an easy drive out of the city but far enough away to be considered away for the weekend. The staff are friendly, efficient and professional. The log cabins in the forest are comfortably perfect. The highlight of course was the complete vegan fair on offer. Highest accolades to Mariane and her team.

The food is exceptionally good and even though it is almost a year since my visit, I still think fondly of the dinner and breakfast we had. The fantastic food, rustic relaxed setting and friendly owners make for an enjoyable stay or visit for a meal if in the area. The cabin rooms were clean and comfortable. Unfortunately what prevents me from giving it five stars is that the accommodation is very close to the road and while earplugs were provided, we still found the road noise very disruptive that we needed to return home to catch up on sleep. But would return for a meal.

I only had short time but will definitely come back. Beautiful place, delicious food and you feel so much welcome!

This accommodation and its owners are something very special. And definitely worth a trip. The lodges are affectionate, stylish and individually decorated. Whether tea or shower gel, everything is organic and without plastic packaging. On cool evenings there is even a hot water bottle to bed.
In the main building, the loving establishment continues. Also there everything is individual, stylish and affectionately designed. There is a magnificent view over the spacious garden. The huge garden invites you to explore. And there is plenty to discover.
The food was very special. Lovingly prepared with fresh ingredients from your own garden. An extremely imaginative and rich vegan cuisine. Even for non-vegans a real experience.
We enjoyed the stay there very much. Unfortunately we were only one night there. Next time I would plan for this wonderful place much more time.

Love, love and more love… that is what you feel from the moment you arrive. The food is out of this world delicious and prepared with so much attention to detail. The rooms are superb too. The walks and access to nature are a huge attraction. I have memories that have imprinted on my soul forever. Thank you Marian and Paul and to all your staff who made my stay so memorable. I remember (or tried too) an amazing Lunch we had their on a climbing rest day with fiends. Great food, good wine and in the company of good friends. Even the selection of hats we found were a great addition to the party. Go there! You will have fun. Even a meat eater can have fun in a vegan restaurant.

Beautiful venue, amazing staff, peaceful, relaxing, and some of the best food I have ever eaten in my life. Blown away. Already trying to figure out when I can go back. It's so encouraging to see places like this functioning, in South Africa, by people who care about things like veganism, organic food, and permaculture, in spite of the ignorant narrow mindedness some people have towards these progressive ideas.

As a vegan this place was heaven on earth. I have eaten some truly amazing vegan food overseas but The Seedling served us with some of the best food I've ever had. The staff are friendly and warm and the location is beautiful. Treat yourself to some Old Joe's Kaia love whether you're vegan or not.
