Stopped by for a sunday breakfast, its the only place open early in the morning in this area. Decent hot breakfast, but coffee was poor (instant). Nice staff, comfortable dining area.

Would have loved to have explored thus lace more, I have a great lunch in their buffet. I'm sure if they always have a buffet or it was a special case during our visit but I loved it.

I would say for the price the hotel rooms is worth it. The staff was friendly enough and willing to assist with queries. There was unfortuanitly a oil/engine/burning plastic smell coming in the room from the harborside that wasn't pleasant. The view was great, with plenty of things to see and activity in the harbor. The breakfast was good but not 5 stars. What's awesome is you get a free cellphone to use while you stay over for calls etc. I didn't use it, but I must say it's a great gesture. There is ample parking inside the boomed off area for your vehicle. Will definitely book again if the need arises.

The hotel is at the right location, there is no noise & is very close to uShaka Marine. The rooms are tidy, however I was dissappointed that there no was bar fridge with a bottle of water in the room. Other than that, I really enjoyed my stay & the hotel employees are very friendly. It was worth it. Oh how can I forget their tasty breakfast. Keep it up.

An absolutely transcending experience. To be honest, I was a little apprehensive about booking this hotel as the pictures in Google Street View wasn't very flattering and there wasn't much to go on in the image search. Pulling up to the hotel, the building looked purposefully rustic. Walking into the hotel, ai realised that I have just found a diamond in the rough. Modern with a natural balance of old made the hotel very attractive. The room was modern and made me feel comfortable the moment I walked in. Now if that isnt enough, the best was in the view. Over looking the ship yard docks a mere 40m away. We sat on the balcony (huge balcony by the way) almost the entire evening drinking wine and looking at the ships being loaded. The hotel is less than 1km from uShaka Marine World. Amazing experience. The restaurant was a complete treat. The food there was absolutely fantastic. A little bit of inside info… the passenger docking area will soon be moved to right infront of the hotel. This will make the WaterFront Hotel one of the most desirable places to stay in Durban. The view would be so interesting that you would never want to leave. Oh yes, book room 3015. The best view you can get.

Customer service is the best … its too great so accomodative… I'd really recommend to any middle-class couple or family … out of 10 I give them 9… I will deffinatly call again… B.

I have somewhat mixed feelings about my stay. The gentleman at reception acted unprofessionally. After failing to find my booking on their system, he had no courtesy to inform us the family room I had booked was not available. Instead, he handed me the key for a standard room (while he could see I was with my wife and two kids). It's only when we returned to reception, after realising the room wasn't suitable, that he explained there appeared to have been a system error after my booking was confirmed. When I expressed my frustration that it wasn't my fault, he expected me to "praise" him for at least making a plan with a standard room. Eventually I asked for a manager, who went out of his way to sort me out, despite a couple of embarrassing moments. While the manager tried to get me an alternative family room, I was handed keys for rooms where I found occupants (happened twice), which raised serious questions about their system. We ended up in two standard rooms for the first night, and moved to a family room for the rest of our stay. The rest of my stay was good. The manager and the rest of the staff were quite friendly. Lastly, they must consider covering the food on the breakfast table with a net, the flies took away from an otherwise decent breakfast setup.

Service excellent. Rooms clean and neat… reception spot on… will visit at anytime again. Will recomend it to anyone.

@R25 a coke you are ridiculously priced with your bar prices! When myself and a whole lot of others complained we get told that this is what you pay in hotels. Bull! I travel and frequent hotels a lot and in a 5 star hotel was charged R17 a coke. I also am involved in bars and know and understand that you make money on your products in the bar but if it was better priced you would actually turnover more units resulting in increase of sales. A bottle of water @ R15? Really a rip off at the bar. Food was good besides the beef curry where meet was a bit tough. Otherwise the service of staff and the establishment was between fair to good. Some staff disappear when asked to get something. At the function the staff all stood in the bar and watching soccer, made such a racket and when asked to close the doors only closed one side and continue cheering the soccer. Made it impossible to hear the speaker… wont recommend the hotel for a function and certainly wont use it myself either.

Site was originally one of the oldest buildings and now has been ŕenovated and converted to a classy hotel. Ancient structure is breathtaking after it has been decorate swirl modern wall decor as well as furniture. Must visit!

I AM LIVID with this hotel as I am still waiting for my refund and it's been a month and two weeks now waiting for the the hotel to pay me back my money and I am so tired with having to use my own airtime calling you guys for my money. I need that money as I have death in the family and need to use to arrange for funeral arrangement. Pay back my money!

Generally ok, looks clean and wants to be advertised as a spa and relax hotel but I wasn't able to relax when I saw a small cock roach next to my bath sink. Requested a room change but the single nigh stay became a nightmare of not sleeping. Will definitely not return here if in Durban again. Restaurant at normal levels and breakfast buffet very good. Busted call button at 2nd floor for the elevator so you have to wait for an elevator going up, relevant announcement posted.

Location, views, service and pricing is just perfect. If you want to be close to the city center and the beach, this is your obvious choice. Highly recommended.

Nice quite hotel, has good views of harbour. Staff are friendly, breakfast was good but average selection. Shower in the room has no door (designed like that) which leaves A puddle outside the bathroom floor. Location is quite, close to usharka marine world. We stayed with our 11 year old son in the room with no extra charge.

I've only been here to eat at the Wodka restaurant and they never disappoint. The ambience is great for mature individuals, the food is splendid and the staff add to the overall pleasant experience. This is a gem of a place within the city.

They were very flexible and convenient. Loved they customer service. It was too good more than the words can explain.

This should have been a 5 star rated hotel. Not 3 star. From the rooms. Staff. Buffet. And decor were amazing. I will def come here again. Well done guys!

Loved the interior of the hotel however we came at a bad time because we stayed on the 2nd floor which was apparently flooded by the storm and had a bad smell but not our room just the corridor. The breakfast buffet was good but the room service was close to none existence.

The accommodation, staff and Food… my goodness all on point. The ladies at reception area thank you and also special compliments to the chef.

The hotel is good for some one who enjoys quite and private space. The staff are friendly and always eager to assist where possible.

Bad service at restaurant. Got order wrong. When trying to fix the problem the gave me a rib eye stake and told me it was a fillet. Noisy air conditioning in rooms.

I am utterly disappointed at the lack of unprofessionalism I experienced this week. I have been trying with no success to get hold of Sean over the phone who I assume is in charge of event bookings. Since Wednesday I have left messages at reception however till today I have not been called back! I find it disturbing that no one except Sean has access to information one needs regarding bookings, what happens when his off sick or on leave than? DO we need to wait for him to return?! DISAPPOINTING!

Nice and quiet place to stay. They have free Wi-Fi (slow) and buffet breakfast included in the fees. There's also a bar, small gym and a spa (extra cost) The staff is friendly and the rooms are clean.

Location not to bad… the main issue was the showers. It would allow water to come thru for under 3 min then it would stop. Very frustrating.

Beautiful hotel, nice food but needs improvement. Shower didn't have a door or curtain, Did not provide us with room service menu, light @ the bathroom was on and off and toilet floor was dirty. Improvement is needed…

The place is beautiful, the staff is great but service is POOR, you might request something very basic, but start wondering if you are not a burden. Dining area with flies all over the breakfast buffet all the days of stay which was FIVE days. Management is really POOR.

A very pleasant stay for the time we spent at the hotel. Staff was friendly and the breakfasts of high standard. Swimming pool facilities would be a bonus if they were to offer the full hotel experience.

I was there recently with my gf. When we got there the room we stayed in had a very nasty smell that was a bit of a turn off, but they quickly put us in a new room when we brought it to their attention. The environment is clean. The food at the bar is very good. I also feel for the rate of their rooms they should have DSTV in every room and a mini fridge. There was no small fridge or a microwave in the room. Also the time in which they clean the rooms are much too late. Our room was tidied up everyday after 2pm only.

I spent my valentines night over at this hotel. It was lovely, the Wodka restaurant was very accommodating, there cosmos were the best I ever had. The room was tasteful and the decor was stunning. Friendly and informative staff made our stay the best. Thank you.

Arrived on a friday night; 28th September. The reception was welcoming and the room was what we expected. Room service was the worst, we had to wait hours to get the service in the room. The restaurant food was just okay, but I prefered eating out of the hotel cos it tasted like food that has been prepared the day before. I would have loved to relax in a pool during my stay. I'd visit again, provided they have improved their service and finished with renovations.

Nice hotel but location not good, only attraction nearby is moyos.
