We won a picnic voucher for your venue, and we made all the necessary arrangements. On the date of our picnic, I phoned very early to ask if they can accommodate us indoors, due to rainy weather. Upon our arrival, we were escorted to the pool area, still in the cold weather.
When I enquire about the indoor arrangement, and even offered to sit inside the restaurant with other guests, we were set up in a board room 😡…
We ordered hot beverages, and got them cold. We weren't given an option of sugar, just 2 brown sugars. When I said that I don't drink brown sugar, the waiter said that he would bring… Which never happened, and I had to drink the bitter latte before it gets even colder.
I was informed that the kiddies picnic includes burger, which she received nuggets (she doesn't eat nuggets) and a cupcake for her to decorate (which we never even got).
We received our picnic foods in cardboard containers, were as on some of your Facebook photos, people got them ons plates.
We got a wrap that was very unpleasant, and super oily.
The deserts was not too bad, although there was a mousse type of thing, that was just disgusting to eat.
We honestly expected more from a 3 star lodge.

I've never experienced such a great hospitality from any other places i've been to, tge place itself its so peacefull and beautiful, the stuff members are so friendly and professional. This was the best holiday week of my life.

We regularly visit The Blades for dinner or breakfast and we are never dissapointed. The beautiful deck that overlooks the river is my favourite spot. The staff are professional, friendly and well trained. The Blades is a hidden gem.

The staff was welcoming, clean quite rooms, great for relaxing.

We had our wedding here and it was absolutely amazing! Everything was run beautifully and professionally! Larissa is an absolute star!

Secluded, peaceful and a pleasant getaway. The place can accommodates wedding and other functions. Staff service is good. Rooms are spacious and well maintained. Breakfast offer halaal food as well. At least there was a section marked as such Lovely place for a relaxed breakaway and yet not far from the Urban environment.

Can't believe that such hospitality exist just here in PTA, it was awesome.

Very nice experience. You'd never expect a place like this so close to civilization. You feel like you're in the wilderness but yet you're only 10-15 min away from shops. Very beautiful location. Perfect for events and/or shoots. Will definitely come again.

I would easily give this place 5 stars but was turned off by being charged for ice and champagne.

It was a beautiful experience at the Blades. Except for one receptionist, the entire staff was very friendly and willing to assist whenever requested, and they did so in the most professional and kind way. The room had a spectacular view of the dam. It was so calming to stay here for the weekend. It's an experience I would love to have again. So definitely returning here. The staff also gave us a tour around the property, they have a good variety of conference rooms all with uniqueness and designed so well. The Blades is the place to be for a good rest and retreat.

Great place for wedding and honeymoon. Was recently at a wedding and the staff servicr was excellent.

We visited The Blades for our anniversary weekend and were treated to an amazing picnic basket that had far too much food for the both of us (not complaining) and champagne with a lovely view. The room was upscale and romantic. Dinner that night was brought to the room. The next day was spent relaxing by the poolside drinking cocktails and soaking up the sun. Highly recommend for a romantic weekend away!

Stagnant, green, polluted water in front of the 2nd unit after booking another unit that had no hot water. Unit had torn bedding and all the press studs have been ironed over (so nothing closed on the duvet) TV had lunes across and no fridge but 4 x water at the bottom of the cupboard. Went for dinner and Ostrich steak and was so over season with salt I couldn't finish it. Lovely food though. Next morning all the breakfast was cold. They also played the same music at dinner and breakfast which included R Kelly — I wish I could fly 3 x times. Staff was lovely.

Loved it but for families with babies there is nothing, no option one can select, on the Menu for kids please add that.

Had a workshop there. The scenery is really good and the meals and catering to your requests were also done well. The location is a bit far from the centre of the cities and on a diet road. But the ace is quite nice and has a really nice view of the river which a d good surroundings. I know that there is also a hotel next door and apparently some teams using the conferencing facility stay there as well.

It's a good place to have a wedding, there is lots of space and you're going to have a good time (if you book the right DJ). The service could be a little better but I've had a really good time and I'm sure you would too :)

Great food, they have places to work. In general they are very chilled and accommodating.

Drove over an hour (one-way) to have lunch at the Blades today. However, upon arrival we were informed that they have no high chair for us to use. I specifically made a booking for 4 adults and 1 baby, requesting a high chair. When we asked to speak to the manager, he referred to our son as 'one of those' in a condescending manner. No, my son is not 'one of those' that you referred to. But Yes, my son is 'one of those' 13 month old babies who need a high chair to eat safely. We left without having lunch and will never return.

Absolutely stunning Hotel, situated just minutes from Pretoria's hustle and bustle… Top class culinary cuisine as well as service. Great function coordinating, and their rooms allow for a luxurious overnight stay.

5 star lodge. The rooms are beautiful and the views are breathtaking. Highly recommended for a getaway, wedding or a conference.

Nice and quiet! Rooms are beautifull. They had a bowl of bath salt in the bathroom — nice touch. Had a hickup with the hot water tap in the shower. A Manager came to appologize and had it fixed the same night. Breakfast was good, a lot of food. Friendly staff and very helpfull.

Very schick. Beautiful, romantic place. If you are looking to get away with your better half or someone special for a very special time, this is the place to go!

I was at there yesterday for a picnic and I have to say the place is beautiful, breath taking and relaxing. I was also pleased with the excellent service I got from Bitty our day waiter he was on point and very friendly. Everything about the blades was just perfect my partner was blown away by the great view, the food and wine. I wouldn't mind coming again with family and friends. Once again Bitty was great.

Most enjoyable semi formal and dam view bush feel. Great for medium size conferences. Room, swimming pool, big open areas. Lots of parking.

Really nice escape from the city. Come here if you want to slow things down… It's only 30 minutes outside of Pretoria and 1 hour from OR TAMBO international airport. Food is decent.

We were looking forward to visiting your establishment, after months of postponing. We were very disappointed to come across a torn table cloth, as well as a wobbly table we had to request be changed. Our unhappiness increased as we ordered the food. The salmon starter was not fresh, heaped with too much cream cheese. I could not bring myself to taste the accompanying cold soup that looked very unappetising. The Ostrich and Pork Belly mains were no different, not fresh at all, with very unpleasant gravy that was almost jelly like. We were very disappointed that our Easter Sunday had to end that way. We frequent a lot of establishments such as yours, in the Vaal, Muldersdrift, all over Gauteng, and yours is among the very worst we've come across — very, very disappointing. Your manager came to speak to us after we expressed dissatisfaction to our waiter, but he did very little to remedy the situation. It is very disappointing to pay over R500 for a lunch we did not enjoy, let alone finish, we feel cheated. Look into your quality, or I'm afraid it will be very difficult to catch up to your competitors who are already light years ahead of you.

This place is beautiful, I love it been here twice already and I love the scenery and the vibe, I don't mind driving far to get the best, me and my girls had such a great time and will go again, the food is on point, the staff is on point. Love it.

I took my family there for Christmas lunch — one doesn't normally have high expectations for these events — however we had a good lunch, the staff where excellent, constantly on call, and the food was delicious. Lovely place, I'll be going back.

I'll b visiting the place with friends pretty soon to experience wat I've experienced. Loved the place big time & thanx for a 5* treatment.
