Do not answer for very long time. I did actually had someone answering calls. Customer service is definitely none existing.

Place is run down and in some serious need of maintenance — not at all like the pictures. Smells of mould in the passages. My husband and I had booked a romantic night out for our birthday, only to be disappointed by the shabby look of the hotel. We had paid for everything upfront, but decided to find alternative accommodation. When I spoke to Annelise the manager she did not seem at all surprised, and asked me to mail her. Since then, I have been unable to get hold of her again and she has not responded to my email. Very unprofessional and disappointing.

Our corporate friends will never use this place after they heard what we told them! Disgusting place! Hands down the worst experience I have ever had at any hotel!
1. Charged me twice for my booking? Been 3 weeks now and still no refund!
2. The room was okay, no soap to wash my hands or any shower gel, shampoo, conditioner.
3. Wrong room, Booked us in the wrong room.
4. Ordered platter and wine and it was not in my room and when we finally got it all the crackers was mushy and we never ate it.
5. No restaurants service, No Waiters and when someone finally helped us, they were unsure if there was even food for us. We finally got served raw steaks and had no choice from a menu.
6. The grounds and the hotel seriously need maintenance.
7. The never call me back, I have been waiting and waiting to get my money back and I phoned them so many times, the manger is never available to take my call, or she is never there. She just simply never calls you back even if you ask nicely.
I can go on and on and on but simply stay away! it’s not worth it.

Disgusting! Incompetent service — hotel refusing to pay my refund back after they indicated same. We did not even stay over as the room was dirty and everything broke. — not up to standard.
I need the owners number immediately as the manager does not give her co operation.

Didn't enjoy my bath in the morning the water was cold, there are drinks by the entrance but they don't offer their guests, the floor needs to be fixed cause wow… The staff is very friendly though.

Conference Venue is dirty! Chair covers are full of holes. Ladies rooms. Are dirty and an issue with one of the toilets. Spiderwebs galore. First time here and the last. Almost forgot to mention the HOT water on the tables. Horrible!

Awesome Hotel, beautiful rooms.

Utterly disappointed with this so called “Boutique Hotel”. To start off, I had to climb a wall in order to get to my room’s sliding door — there arent any steps to access the patio. The kettle’s cord couldnt reach the plug, it had to stand skew. When I opened the kettle, it was full of ants. I then threw the water with ants in the bathroom sink, it then appeared that the sink was blocked. I then called reception for assistance. After waiting 20 minutes for them, I eventually went to reception. I demanded a new room. They couldnt assist me with my request. Went back to my room, and tried to charge my phone, only to see that the plugs on both sides of the bed werent working. Wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone!

Stayed here before my wedding — lovely atmosphere, quiet, friendly staff and clean room.

Great function venue. The setting is parkland like and it makes for a good atmosphere and relaxed environment for dinner or events. Has been a popular spot for weddings for many years now. Reasonably priced and the food is top quality and well presented. Service is good and this place has remained a top venue for many years.

The building itself is pretty. Stayed in room 5 which was not great, bathroom had no shower. However the bed was comfortable. Managed to see Rooms 7 and 9 and they were well finished. Breakfast was good, only found one friendly staff member Patrick. Night manager was shocking. No dstv, no minibar. No snack vending machines.

Went to Lombardy with my husband on the 7th of July for a night. The food was amazing, Dinner and breakfast. The rooms though (Room 6) could use a bit of maintenance such as curtains and heating system. It was extremely cold and the heater on the wall took hours to warm up. The extra tiny fan heater was just noisy and smelt of dust, I didn’t see a point of having it there. For a 5 star botique hotel I expected better linen, it was just two tiny standard pillows on a king size bed and an old lumpy duvet that wasn’t even big enough to cover the whole bed. Had to ask reception for extra pillows as they didn’t have any extras even in the wardrobe. Otherwise, the food was delicious, warm and timely. We would definitely be back for the restaurant ONLY!

It still need some polishing to be commended as a boutique hotel. Simple stuff like cutlery, bedding sizes attention to details is always important.

Disappointing! 5-stars it isn't. Glass toilet door — lacking privacy for even an intimate couple, poor quality towels, thin, cheap toilet paper, broken toilet flush, broken bath faucet, bath handle pulled out of the wall, mould/grime on the tiles, badly done electrical outlets, poor room lighting, no fresh milk at breakfast the next morning, the waiter had to give us UHT capsules normally for the rooms. By European standards, 3.5 stars IF they rectified most of the defects.

Enjoyed dinner in the restaurant. Food was good, the service excellent. Wonderful evening.

Not 5/4 star. Needs Upgrade. Furnisher Old and dirty in room. Towels thin Old. Gardens at roompatio unkept. Staff friendly.

Doesn't qualify for any stars… Where does one start! This place should be closed down for maintenance. From checking in I had to ask about breakfast time and where… The rooms are horrible and filthy, checked out a few rooms and each has their own challenge. Two single sheets are used to cover two 3/4 (now one king) bed, mattress protector only covers half way, not to mention the mold in the showers, lights and air cons not working, fridges not working. Called reception and house keeping a few times and you wait like an hour for assistance, I also witnessed towels being dropped off from a cars boot not even covered in plastic, this is unhygienic and some towels needs replacement. Not even to mention the TV that 70% of the channels are not working. Breakfast sucks, found worms in the kelloggs… Safes are not working. Surely not what is being advertised on the website. Will not recommend or return, I am a frequent traveler and this is by far the worst service ever. I complained a few times and then just prayed for time to pass so I can leave. This could all be turned around into a project for job creation as this hotel requires serious maintenance and cleaning.

My husband and I were looking forward to celebrating our 8th wedding anniversary at the restaurant at Lombardy Boutique hotel on 8 May. We were received warmly and taken to our table. We ordered a lovely chardonnay. Then everything just went downhill from there. The rice in the calamari and prawn risotto we ordered as a starter was not cooked properly. It was very hard and we only had the seafood, but left the rice. What a waste… My husband ordered the coq au vin as a main meal, which is described as slow-cooked on the menu. The dish he received was so salty that he took two bites and could eat no more. The chicken cubes were also very tough. The main chef admitted that the coq au vin was not slow cooked and that it was too salty to eat, after tasting it. To put it mildly, our romantic celebration is spoiled. We discussed the matter with the manager and he agreed with our complaint that the food is not of an acceptable standard. We were not charged for the coq au vin. And that was all the manager ordered. We will NOT be back very soon. Extremely disappointed!

Rooms are spacious, bathroom was spacious but there were no amenities provided. The walk from reception to the rolm was way too long and uncomfortable. Breakfast was way too limited but service was very good and honest. Thank you to the gentleman who served us breakfast and the gentleman who walked us to the room.

I love this hotel and it’s serves its purpose rooms are lovely My daughter is getting married close by.

Quint little hotel. Beautifully maintained in front. Friendly staff. Clean rooms with updated bathroom. "Gardens" on the far end in front of rooms need a simple upgrade, as well as fresh coat of paint on outside of buildings.

Had a pleasent breakfast there this morning only fault was not enough Hollandaise with the eggs Benedict.

Very beautiful landscapes and views from the room. Its peaceful and the spa is just masterpiece. The food is nice. This hotel is just on another level.

So on Saturday night the 9th of December I was invited by a friend to Lombardy boutique hotel for a graduation dinner. My gawd to say the service was horrendous would be an understatement. Must be why they don’t enable the option to write on their wall. We waited to be served for half an hour that’s when we decided to go look for a waiter. One of the guy from the kitchen was on a smoke break n I walked up to him n asked him to find us a waiter very friendly guy didn’t get his name but he confirmed that here you’ll struggle for a waiter. Finally a waiter came but stood as far as the doorway n looked at us as though we fell outta space couldn’t be bothered to walk to us because God forbid he actually does this n look keen to serve us. So we walk up to this gentlemen who we tell we’d like to order he gives us the menu.
And walks away. So we laugh n go thru the menu and wait because shame man maybe he needed to pee real bad right? No not the case we go inside the reception area and ask her we are looking for our waiter who gave us menus and disappeared pls find him for us. She say do you have his name I say no but he’s an older gentleman she says ok I think I know him. Indeed she walks back with him. At this point I look at his name tag his name is Solly Tau.
Me: Bathong Abuti Solly you just gave us menus and disappeared for such a long time we stood there waiting for you n had to come looking for you.
Solly: yes but I’m here now n you can order.

We had a good stay but was disappointed with several aspects: — towels are small, unravelling and tatty — no floor mats in bathroom — coffee machine not working properly, had to ask 3 X for pods — sink plug not working — net curtains full of holes — wall paper needs replacing Dinner and breakfast was good. The meat was well prepared but the fish overcooked. We were overcharged for the wine. The hotel website states that this is a 5 star establishment but unfortunately the standards has dropped severely since our previous visit 10 years ago when this was true.

World class. Truly believe Gordon Ramsey would give Chef Graham the thumbs up. Enjoyed every course and when no one was looking I couldn't help but take a finger lick of the plate. Disappointing. Not at all what the foto's show on their website. Our reception was cold and unfriendly. The shower had mildew/mould from bottom to top and all over the ceiling. The room smelt like a hospital. Some of the lights were not working, one of the taps not working. Seriously don't know how they got their stars — might have been bribed?

The hotel has a very tranquil feel to it. It's like being in the country. Lunch time menu is excellent and very reasonable.

I had such an amzing experience at Lombardy Boutique Hotel. A really special dinner with a lot of attention to detail. The Staff was very friendly and helpful with excellent service. The food was well prepared and paired very well. The combinations complemented eavh other well and paied well with the fine wine selection. I really enjoyed the experience and would highly recommended it to any one. Ihabe read a few very rude and bad reviews and decided to still go and decide mysels, I was so suprised to find it completely the opposite and in reality a wonderful experience. I guess pessimistic critics will always find something wrong with the best restaurants, and it is usually only the bad reviews and negative people leaving feedback. So I thought it good to at leaet rate the service and review as you well deserve. Thank you for you time effort and excellent dinner.!

Visited for a wedding. Had a great day here. The buildings and grounds are lovely, a great setting out of the busy city.

Went there on the 15 — 17th Dec. Then the worst happened: after coming back from the Boyz II Men concert, found a large stain on the sheets. The receptionist then told us — housekeeping had locked up. We had to suggest to him to get sheets from another room, which we put on ourselves. Then on check-out they have the nerve to accuse me of having consumed stuff from the minibar. It's a 2-star hotel disguised as a 5-star.
