The newly opened and reconstructed Beryl boarding house is situated near the Thalia Theatre in the centre of the Kosice city and offers a wide range of amenities and a homely atmosphere. Very hot no air condition in room.

The location was great. It was quiet yet very close to the city center and the trainstation. Kosice really comes to life in the evening, it is a very vibrant city with lights, terraces and live music. As we entered the room the airconditioning was on. It was really delightfull since it was very hot outside. The hotel staff lady quickly turned it off as we entered and told us that we have to pay 5 euros a day for the remote control. This felt like a rip off, there was no possibility we could have had a remotely comfortable stay without the airconditioning. They should just skip the free breakfast (the bread was stale, items were cold, etc. ) and give free airconditioning. We also were disappointed about the bathroom. The toiletseat was too small. And worst of all, the shower hose snapped while I was showering. When I notified the staff, they did not seem to care. The lack of care was also visible in the way they made our beds: the sheet didn't cover the whole matress… For the life hackers: if you do not want to pay for the airconditioning, just look up the manual… And figure the rest out yourself ;)
