Villa Chez Batista Hotel

As an option to stay only for one night right next to the beach with food and drinks is fine, but no longer. The rooms are very old and needed full repair, plus no safe, broken air conditioning, almost broken door locker, bad smell in the bathroom, absolutely uncomfortable bed, poor Wi-Fi only at the reception. So this place is very overpriced for the accommodation and for the gourmets that are served. Tuna and coconut milk coctails were good, but the piña colada, fish & chips, kreol fish, beer were absolutely untasty! The staff was kind. About the beach and underwater life. Better to swim in swimming slippers because of the rocks in the water. Good snorkeling next to the hotel side closer to the big rocks, be careful with current.

About the restaurant: in 20 days in Seychelles, this is one of our favorites. Excellent food that offers more than burgers!
We opted for a Tuna Steak and a fresh fish Carpaccio.
Yes it is not given, but as on the whole island of Mahé.
It's hard to believe but finding a restaurant that serves Tuna Steak is not obvious while the tuna there is a lot at sea.

Great location, right on the beach with great views. Accommodation is in good price/performance ratio, defects are fixed according to the complaint. Superior room with air conditioning, ceiling fan, refrigerator, kettle, TV with movie without German channels, balcony. Breakfast is somewhat spartan, other food is Ok. Free internet, but only at the front desk. Employees are rather annoyed except for a few friendly exceptions.

Hotel con location meravigliosa. Si trova sulla spiaggia. Per il resto é carente in tutto: scarsa pulizia, strutture degradate (curate solo le suite), accoglienza e servizi al cliente nulli, qualità del cibo scarsa (Non è vero che qui si può mangiare la vera cucina creola qui si mangia alla maniera indiana), orari dei servizi limitati e non flessibili. Chi decide di soggiornare qui deve armarsi di tanta pazienza, ci si trova davanti a un muro di gomma. Non ci sono cassaforti nelle stanze e se uno vuole mettere al sicuro il proprio denaro deve darlo alla reception che lo conta e poi lo mette in una busta da lettere. Questa busta viene co servata da loro e la si può chiedere solo in certi orari. Insomma hanno in ostaggio I tuoi soldi. Scorretto a dir poco. Ma d'altro canto ci sono pochissimi hotel con una posizione così superba. I tramonti dal loro bar situato sulla spiaggia sono indimenticabili. La matura e la quiete sono compagni del visitatore. Consigliato ma… Hotel with wonderful location. It is located on the beach. For the rest is lacking in everything: poor cleanliness, degraded facilities (only the suites are treated), reception and null customer service, poor food quality (It is not true that here you can eat real Creole cuisine here you eat in the Indian way), limited and non-flexible service hours. Those who decide to stay here must arm themselves with so much patience, we are faced with a rubber wall.

Very good Restaurant at the Takamaka Beach. Great local cuisine, including Fish, Meat and Vegetarian Dishes. Service was a bit slow, but meals were large and tasty. Great and direct view on the Beach from any table, sun sets directly in the center of the beach here. Dinner for two costs about 100 Euro, more with shellfish.

Food very good but you need time and patience.

The view is breathtaking, the restaurant is located on one of the most beautiful beaches on the island of Mahe. The map is varied but we wished to eat Creole. The Cary was good, but really too much for us.

The suite is spacious and comfortable. Very comfortable mattress. The buffet service is very expensive (U $ D 35 per person) with a little enticing food offer. In the same way, the menu of the bar is not very tempting and very expensive. The bar service closes at 20:30 HS and at 16 pm on weekends; Forcing the host to solve the dinner at those times; The villa is very far from the center, there are no other places nearby to be able to dine and the suites do not have electric cooker. This is an unforgivable mistake, if the guest does not rent a car or taxi, he cannot dine on weekends. The bar should be open until midnight always! Another unforgivable question: the Wi-Fi signal has reach only in the bar/reception area. How is it possible that there is no Wi-Fi in the rooms?

We are overwhelmed! Our Junior suite is great. Very clean and spacious. Extra wide and very comfortable bed. We were greeted nicely with a cooled juice, and our room was decorated with fresh hibiscus blossoms. From the Bed sea view. The bay is beautiful to look at, for bathing and snorkeling class. From the balcony the view of the water… fantastic. The balcony is equipped with 2 comfortable wicker chairs, 2 adjustable couches and a table. The glass fronts of the suite are mirrored from the outside. Inside there is a ceiling fan and a quiet air conditioning. There are furniture made of solid wood in colonial style. Very spacious. I find that the room is shared behind the bed and there is a bathroom and a walk-in closet. You can look out over the bed from the wardrobe. Cleverly solved. You think it's a mirror! The rooms were cleaned daily, the towels changed and even small pieces of art from towels adorned with hibiscus blossoms left. The staff is very friendly. The restaurant lacks fans! The staff there is very relaxed, i. E. You have to wait…! We worked with very little staff, and unfortunately you can see it at some corners. It could be cleaned up once, for example At the pool which does not look so well cared for.
Breakfast Delicious! Think very little staff needs to do a lot… The lady from the reception is at the same time maid and waitress in the restaurant!
We felt very comfortable here and would come back again! The sunset is unbeatable beautiful!

The Hotel is situated on a beautiful beach, the rooms are nice and spacious and the restaurant has an amazing view. Firstly we were really happy to have picked this place. We welcome was nice, welcome drinks and so on. We had booked 3 nights — during the second evening we experienced electricity problems in our room — the lights were flickering, the Airconditioning stopped working as well as the fan at the ceiling. Additionally my boyfriend got a little electric shock when he was touching the water tap and shower amature. Immediately we told that someone from the staff in the evening and they said they would send someone. Nothing happened. On the next day we went to the reception and asked when the issue would be fixed. They knew nothing and said that they would send somebody again. In the evening we came back to our room and realized that the electricity problem was solved but the AC was still blowing hot air from the outside into the room. As expected nobody was at the reception anymore. So the second night we were sleeping in a room in which it was hotter than outside, which was even harder for our 2 year old daughter. On the next morning — we were supposed to leave on that day in the evening — we went to the reception again and complained. After my suggestion they offered us to have the room until we leave in the evening, to which I agreed and she said she would talk to the manager.

Nice quiet spot. Nice food. Great pools and spa. Ideal for sun bathing. Children can be noisy uncontrolled. Avoid noisy room 134. Short walk to sips and a restuarant/bar. The superb beach is a few minutes further. Got to go. Visit the fresh fruit girl on the beach, very refreshing. Also the food outlets on way to the beach by the post office are plentiful.

I hoped more, staff rather unkind, kitchen quite good but not cheap, location very aloof, room too dark, miserable Wi-Fi, swimming and snorkeling only possible at high tide, but then worthwhile (turtles seen octopuse and rays)

Good Creole food, nice atmosphere, they should expand as its a bit small.

Location was great, best place to enjoy your evening and to relax. But the rooms and services were not upto the mark. And very poor Wi-Fi.

This has one of the most beautiful beaches in the island! Don't forget to take the villa facing the sea! Limited option for food. The restaurant has limited menu and expensive compared to other similar restaurants. Staff are very professional and helpful!

Service was very friendly. The food was average (and not cheap). The tuna steak was thin and very overcooked. The fish in the fish curry was not very good (curry sauce itself was fine). Lentils were good, as was the piña colada.

Nice beach front dining. Good buffet. Best Pina colada I've had on the island (made with coconut milk instead of coconut syrup so it was slightly less sweet than others I tried which made it taste better and more fresh). Unfortunately the beach is covered with trash and empty bottles left by guests that the hotel does not clean up after. Worth a stop to see the tortoises as well.

Clean polite staff and most importantly the best located Villa in Mahe. Right on one of the best beaches!

Nice beachfront restaurant. Local dishes are very good, the international ones a little disappointing. Nice sunset view. Giant Turtles nearby.

We went there as a group of 8. The way we were treated wasnt good at all. I have a feeling that we were treated that way coz we were blacks. I think the US$ we had were black too. Other guys not black who came much later than us were served and even left before us. We eventually left without being served.

I can only rate the restaurant.
The food was the hammer, just perfect. OK priced it is rather higher and no take away standard, but for the food it was simply justified and the sea view is also priceless.

The restaurant Chez Batista at any rate is the hammer. The delicious pork chop of all time and the King Fish Steak was also divine. Clearly it is very expensive but what in the Seychelles is not?

The beach is awesome. You come out of your appartement, go one two steps and then your feet can feel the warm sand. Breakfast, lunch and dinner in front of the sea is a really cool experience. The service was ok. They were sometimes a little bit rough, but all in all it was ok.

Chez Batista is located at the amazing beach Anse Takamaka. The restaurant has a nice view and you can enjoy a drink while watching the sunset. We've been here in low season (June) and we were the only guests and no troubles to find a place. We had grilled fish, which is okay but expensive (approx. 900 SR). Actually you pay for the view ;)

We were looking forward to have lunch at the restaurant but we lost our appetite when we saw the giant turtles (6) being fenced in a small pen (about 20 m²). One turtle got stuck between the bars and couldn’t move at all. We left the place immediately.

Nice plays to stay. Only one restaurant nearby and closest shop is in 30 minutes, so better rent a car.

This is a must go to beach. The reef is quite close in so the water currents are a little strong at times but perfect for a nice swim and sunbathing.

Host does not exist. Barely own picnic tables. No atmosphere. Canteen dish. Very little choice at exorbitant prices for the location. In short do not recommend. As also suggested by lonely planet.

Stopped here for lunch. The most incredible views of the ocean! Would highly recommend this hidden gem.

A beautiful and quiet resort, for me one of the most beautiful beaches in the world. Warm and attentive care. Creole cuisine and juices of all kinds leave no wishes unfulfilled. The beach is not crowded and the rocks you can see turtles while snorkeling. Price and performance for Chez Batista Villas is absolutely correct. The rooms are clean and you can choose from Standard to a little private outdoor swimming pool. A place in this world of Dreams and Stay invites. Dr. Martin May.
