Sinalei Reef Resort & Spa

Resort was very nice, felt very welcomed by the staff especially Glory who made my stay as an anxious first time solo traveller very comfortable. She went above and beyond to making sure that I was looked after and when she wasn’t working, she would tell her co-workers to make sure to check up on me to see if I was doing okay so thank you so so much Glory!
I stayed in both the garden view room and the villa and to be honest I preferred the the garden view with the outside bathroom room as when going toilet in the villa, smell tends to simmer quite quickly in villa due to lack of a bathroom fan.
With food I enjoyed the poke the most followed by the oka which I would frequently order alongside a main meal. Also I loved the island fries and wished that I could take it home with me :, )
It is important to add that I stayed at this resort for 7 days with the first half of my stay being one out of like 2 or 3 guests staying here during quiet season so if going during busy season (mid year), you may not get the same experience I did (frequent staff attentiveness, checking in with me etc as they’ll definitely will be busy with a whole bunch of guests) so definitely recommend going during off tourist season for best experience. That being said I’m sure staff will still be as welcoming to you as they were to me during busy season. Thank you to all Sinalei staff for the lovely stay and experience!

We cannot thank Illy Tanielu and the amazing food and beverage staff at Sinalei Resort, Samoa enough for the incredible way she organised our daughter Emily’s wedding to Nathan. Planning from overseas felt completely stress-free thanks to Illy’s clear communication, professionalism and genuine care.
Everything on the day was seamless and beautiful, allowing us to relax and truly enjoy such a special occasion. Illy’s attention to detail and warmth made the wedding unforgettable, and we are so grateful for the memories she helped create for Emily and Nathan.

We had our wedding here this past Thursday, and we truly cannot put into words how grateful and happy we are with the entire experience.
From the very beginning, our event coordinator Illy was absolutely wonderful. Her professionalism, kindness, and attention to detail made everything feel seamless and stress-free. Illy and her team brought everything together so beautifully, and most importantly, my wife was truly happy, which means everything to us.
A special shout-out to the beautiful staff who worked so hard behind the scenes and on the day itself. Every interaction was warm, respectful, and genuine, and it really made us feel cared for and supported throughout our special day.
The location itself is simply breathtaking. Surrounded by lush greenery, flowers, tall trees, and coconut trees, the atmosphere is peaceful, romantic, and naturally beautiful. It is a place that always feels calm and special.
Sinalei is not only a stunning resort, but a truly wonderful place filled with heart, beauty, and amazing people. We are so thankful to have chosen this place to begin our journey as husband and wife, and we will forever cherish the memories made here.

The set up was breathtakingly beautiful, the food was just delicious and the staff, as always, were warm, friendly, and always there to help. Great Location. Staff are lovely but very unorganised. May need an efficiency trainer to run them through basics running things smoothly. They have a great Vegan/Vegetarian menu that you may need to request. May need more training on how to make events run smoother. But lovely service workers. Spa Massage ladies are amazing. Defs worth the money for the spa treatments.

I'd love to give a better overall rating, however — I got food poisoning from the carbonara I ordered.
The location is amazing — quiet, prestine.
Overall — could probably get better value for money staying somewhere cheaper. Rooms are nice enough, but not for how much u're paying.
Service was good — staff were really nice & really helpful. However on 2 occasions they ran out of food very fast.
Again, wish I could give a better rating. But now leaving probably never able to eat carbonara ever again.

I recently stayed at Sinalei and had a mixed experience. The hotel is beautiful, and the staff were friendly. The buffet breakfast was great, with a good selection of local seasonal foods.
We weren't given a pamphlet outlining what the hotel provides, which would've been helpful. There supposedly is room service but there are no phones in the rooms so im not too sure how youre meant to order food in the room.
The staff seemed like they were all in the dark because communication wasn’t the best.
We also experienced power outages in the room a few times ventilation system in the rooms could be improved. From my understanding Wi-Fi wasnt included and for the price you pay youd expect to have atleast a TV in the room.
Overall, I wouldn't say it's worth the money you pay but you have everything you need at the resort.

Very nice resort in great location on south side of island. Rooms spacious, very light and airy. Comfortable king size bed, tea and coffee supplied. Great outside shower.
Restaurant on the jetty over the ocean is great, good menu selection — recommend branching balls and chicken roulade. Also a restaurant for breakfast close to the pool as well.
Had fabulous bbq dinner on beach on Friday wirh good selection meats and salads.
The spa options very good, good range of massages and beauty treatments. Recommend the massage with the coconut scrub, nice and relaxing and scrub felt great. Lovely friendly staff.
Staff all very friendly and helpful.

Went back here with my wife. I just say it's gotten worse and worse. The rooms are very very dated for the prices they charge. Mould in the open aired bathrooms. There was black hair in the shower walls and left over food in th fridge which rattled all night. Air con rattled all night and yesterday as full of mould as if it has never been cleaned. Housekeeping was inconsistent. Some days they cleaned our rooms and some days it was missed all together. Food was below par. Had the steak one night and it was so chewy it was off. Must have been frozen for months and brought out. Chips oily as if the cooking oil has never been changed. In the morning there was a black hair in the breakfast fruit and when we pooped our heads into one of the open door kitchens staff had no uniforms on let alone hair nets. You also had the owner peeping around again on good old JOE. This was a turn off for my female partner by the poor having him snooping around all the time for an old old. We went as they had a special on but we will never go. Do not go here. Old property with old dated facilities, poor food and service and an old owner in Joe around the bushes.

Walked here for dinner from our Resort which was close by. We were lucky that it was Seafood Sunday. Ordered their seafood platter for 200 Tala which did not disappoint. The whole lobsters and fried whole snapper were the highlight. We left with a full tummy and contented. Will definitely try staying here when we're back in Samoa.

My partner and I booked this resort through Luxury Escapes and stayed for 6 nights.
* Communication was spotty. It took over a week to get a reply to a simple email before we arrived. We also had some mix-ups with the reception staff and took a few attempts just trying to book our departing airport shuttle which we eventually managed to lock in.
We did have lovely genuine service at breakfast by the manager (I think) which was really nice.
* The place is beautiful right when you arrive, with amazing ocean views and really lovely gardens. The pool and beach spot could do with a couple more lounge chairs.
* It was very quiet and peaceful, without too many people around.
* The beach is fantastic—the water is clear, calm, and the perfect temperature, we also got a boat out for a couple of hours to go snorkeling and spotted some turtles, beautiful coral and colourful fish.
* The room was fine. The bed wasn't the most comfortable and the pillows were lumpy. The outdoor bathroom is a great idea, but it's not great if you get bitten by mosquitoes. We had to keep the door closed constantly to stop bugs from getting into the room, which was annoying during the night.
* The food is all quite tasty maybe not the healthiest if you’re looking for fresh “farm to table” offerings like the website suggests, and you’ll probably getting sick of eating tuna for all the fish options by the end of your stay.

A beautiful place run and staffed by beautiful people. It is locally and independently owned, focused on being environmentally responsible. The workers were all so lovely and accommodating. It was difficult to leave the stunning gardens, the constant sound of the mighty south pacific ocean, and peaceful vibe. If you are looking for a sterile resort with overly sycophantic service and no soul, this is not the accommodation you are looking for.
If you are looking for peace, kindness, natural beauty, a lovely pool, sacred land, extraordinary stories and history, and a place to spend your money that supports the local community, you've found the right place.
The villas we stayed in were very clean, spacious and comfortable. There are also plenty of nice spots around the resort to relax and read a book or chill out in other ways. It was easy to access the free to use kayaks, life Jackets, and snorkelling gear. I felt safe kayaking around by myself.
I will definitely return.

Sinalei is a very nice resort, and staff are helpful. We were welcomed by the security officer even if we arrived at 2AM. The food is very good (oka is amazing, we ordered it every single meal and we never do that usually, we just couldn’t stop eating it). The view from the restaurant is great.
The room was nice, we had a classic fale, plenty of room, very nice outdoor shower, AC worked very well. Umbrellas are available in the room in case of showers.
Tennis court is old but great to have. It was always available during our stay.
The pool is very nice.
There was a wedding during our stay, which meant beach closed for the day of the wedding and the bar was also closed because staff were all on the beach for the wedding I guess. That was a little disappointing.
The water activities center where we could rent (no fee) masks, snorkels and fins was mostly closed, we needed to find an employee somewhere else on the resort to help us out.
We rented a car and definitely recommend doing so, you can visit the island. We think staying at the resort all day would be a little long given the caveats.
Overall, good resort, with a little fine tuning to do!

We arrived yesterday for a 10 day stay. So far the resort has been a mixed bag. On the positive side the massage service was awesome and meal last was tasty and generous. The main negatives are, features the ‘Resort’ tells you are available which are clearly NOT. For example, the Beach Hut, that provides equipment for water activities is supposed to be open between 8:00am and 4:00pm, it was locked up tight at 2:00pm. Also, the Pierside restaurant and bar was closed at the same time despite being advertised as open from 11:00am to 3:00pm. Apparently, the resort had a wedding there on Friday, which must mean you cannot open the next day! When I asked about why both services were not available, the response was to state the obvious, plus no apology or solution.

We spent a day here. The staff were very friendly. Unfortunately, there was a dead mouse on the stairs, which was rather off putting. The lunch was good. The beach, however, was not enjoyable. At low tide there is so little water. And while sitting in the beach, dogs constantly pestered us. We were glad we weren’t staying here.

This resort is the best we have tried on Samoa. Food was outstanding and generous, staff genuinely look happy to help and to be working there. Really clean, comfortable, well equipped rooms. Best time thank you!

We were staying at a nearby resort but decided to try this over the water restaurant and we’re happy. The food was first class with friendly Samoan hospitality. See one photo with a group watching the turtle feeding going up and down, then we had the rainbow in the background. We were invited back for the banquet and fire show the following night. The rainstorm chained that idea so maybe next time. With suitable weather a lovely place to dine, cheers from Ballarat VIC.
