Conacul Archia

I attended a very nice wedding.
The food was excellent.
The service was extremely good, each table had a waiter that served us very promptly and discreetly in the same time.
The restaurant was very nice decorated.
The rest rooms were very clean and had top quality soap and hand lotions.

The manor is a unique location for nature lovers, fresh air, and the charm of a Romanian village. The space is thoughtfully designed, and the Villa across the river offers all the amenities a family with children could desire for relaxation and reconnection. We also chose this location for its equestrian center, as we are fond of horses and enjoy activities alongside them.

If you need a change of pace or scenery this sprawling destination is quite a jewel. From authentic Romanian food at Restaurant Carol to the biggest bonfires to watching horses prance outside your window in the morning it would be hard to find a more unique hotel.
I loved the thematic rooms (each room is 1 of 1) and if you are lucky enough you may get a chance to speak with Horia who runs the family business now. His dialogue on the juxtapositions of what Romania was like before and after communism are like a living documentary you can interact with.
So much value can be found at this great place and I highly recommend it to anyone looking to get a way!

I recently had the pleasure of spending a weekend at Conacul Archia in October, and it was a truly an unforgettable experience. The hotel was impeccably clean and offered a level of comfort that made me feel like I was at home. The staff went above and beyond at every time of asking.
What stood out the most was the landscape of Deva and exceptional food; the meals were nothing incredible. It was some of the best food i’ve ever had. If you're planning a trip to Romania, make sure Conacul Archia is at the top of your list!

Everything was perfect, location, accomodation, staff, food. But mostly we enjoyed the horse riding. The horse trainer is excellent! Being with horses in the nature was an experience beyond any words. The horses were well trained, clean and perfectly looked after.

Tripadvisor seems to indicate it’s a 5* hotel. It isn’t. It is currently 4*.
Comfortable bed. Good shower pressure and temperature. Hotel grounds are very pleasant. Big — too big — portion sizes in restaurant. Excellent ciorba with mushrooms. Good wine. Quiet area.
I chose this hotel to enjoy a bit of luxury. It was very, very disappointing.
Arrival — very dirty doormat. No lift.
Check in — receptionist scruffily dressed. She wrote the Wi-Fi details on a sheet of paper on the back of which were photocopies of three id cards. Data protection?
Room — dark and cramped under the roof. Shower had no means to hold the shower nozzle. Bathroom very small. Bath towel small and thin. Do not go for a room on the top floor especially if you are tall. Carpet stained (bleach? ). Broken radiator thermostat. The washstand in the bathroom was badly rusted and corroded with rust flaking off it in large pieces. Poor TV signal.
Restaurant — night one — no duck available, night two — no fish available. I love papanaşi but the ones I had were so heavy, like large stodgy golf balls. Stop trying to be clever, just make good papanaşi the traditional way.
Breakfast — uninspiring and uninspired buffet on the first morning. On the second morning there was no buffet but breakfast à la carte — I assume because there were so few people staying. I ordered muesli, toast snd croissants. For the muesli the waiter brought a bowl of raw porridge oats! No fruit, no nuts! I am not a horse.

This place is a top hotel.
The rooms are individually decorated and to me they looked quite ok.
There are some small things to cover for the amenities to be in perfect shape (leaky showers, an AC unit with some inside leaks as example) and this is important as you're branding as a top-class hotel, but nothing major.
The pool area is nice, also the horse back-riding options are a treat for the kids and not only kids…
The restaurant is quite a nice experience, the staff (Asians) are friendly and professional, the a-la-cart menu for lunch and dinner is quite special.
In all, a great experience!

Wonderful personal, beautiful place, a little bit far from the town. It is a very old place but the decoration was great. Good food, swimming pool and plus, you can enjoy a ride with beautiful horses.

Awesome place to stay. We stayed a nice decorated attic room. Had a tasty breakfast. Definitely will come back again. There are wonderful horses we had a ride it was so fun. All the common areas are clean cozy and nicely decorated. Recommended for whom want to have a calm break in a wonderful ambiance.
