And also congratulation to the girl playing the guitar and singing from the US.

One of my most favorite hostels I've stayed at! I actually didn't like the city itself much but this hostel and their amazing tea house makes it worth the stay! It's very cozy and the staff are wonderful and helpful. We had fun events like the vegan Greek food night for donations. It's easy to talk to other travelers and socialize. I would stay again if I were ever in town.

The hostel is filled with little details that really info you and give you a sense of how much the owners care about your comfort. I especially love the positive message in the showers. The kitchen is fully equipped, the Wi-Fi is strong and the showers are hot. The organized nightly events create such a great social environment. I was lucky enough to stay when they had a free acoustic concert in the garden. If I return to Bucharest I will definitely stay with the Podstel family again.

I stayed at this hostel in Bucharest and I had a really great time there. From the moment I got in the door, I felt very welcome especially from the very sweet and beautiful Daniella, (not sure if the spelling is right). But she is the best, and really looked after me as I was absolutely wrecked from the flying over. The rest of the staff were extremely accomadating, kept the place spotless, and were always on hand to give advice about things and talk to. Henry was able to help me things always there too, even when it was very busy. If I ever do return to Bucharest, I will stay here.

Couldn’t imagine a better hostel. Very clean, staff were friendly and helpful. They have advice and tips for travelling to Bucharest, organise social events and family dinners for the guests. My partner says the vibe was the best part, so open and the space outside in the garden was beautiful. 10/10 would stay again.

Friendly, warm & welcoming. The Podstel felt like a second home. Unique/comfy common area outside with power points & Wi-Fi everywhere you could imagine. Events each night from movie nights to live entertainment. The Family dinner is a good option for food, good price & they won’t let you leave hungry. If your in Bucharest it’s the obvious choice if your looking for a hostel.

Podstel is one lovely place with warm and welcoming people and beautiful events that bring the community together. I had an incredible stay here, met people I would love to see again, and simply didn't want to leave.

Really lovely place! Highly recommend. It doubles as a tea house, with locals invited to come and partake. There is live music and community social events on most nights. The garden is absolutely gorgeous, with lots of plants shading the whole area, and nice wooden tables and chairs to work or eat at, a hammock, and an open tent filled with pillows and woven rugs. I could go on and on about what this place offers. I so desperately wish I could have stayed more than one night. This hostel is a MUST if you are staying in Bucharest.

We used this Hostel for a work Men's football tour and it was the perfect location. Its situated within walking distance of the old town and the staff at the hostel were friendly, accommodating and we fountains of knowledge on the locate areas and actives. It has memory foam mattress which are a great touch, several showers toilets and go kitchen facilitates. Its most attractive feature for us was the outdoor space that they had and the coffee shop. It also has a table tennis table and I heard that the Dan (one of the members of staff) really fancies himself as a player and is willing to give anyone a thrashing on his home table. Would definitely recommend this hostel, and will definitely bet returning.

Such an amazing place! every living soul should visit this place at least once in his life time!

This place is just incredible!
You feel like home from the first moment you enter Podstel. It’s placed in very local, central, beautiful and safe area. There is a small cute garden and tea house in the yard where guests can chill, talk, do yoga or play guitar.
The hostel is very clean, cozy and made with love.

Staff is kind, helpful and welcoming. And the travelers are awesome too. I liked spontaneous parties in the kitchen when we shaded th…oughts and food and laughs at night I’m really sorry I stayed only two days. Will definitely come back to lovely Bucharest and Podstel.

I had a wonderful stay, at this very nice hostel, opened by most adorable guys. This is a pic of me and my cousin, at the Jamaican dinner gathering they organized in the hostel. As random as that ;). Highly recommend the stay and the activities they prepare. Don't miss Ceainaria 5!

Well, As the title said, its not a hostel but a home away from home. And Beware that a crazy family resides inside :-P. A perfect place to stay if you are in Bucharest as a solo traveler. I stayed there for 3 nights in Berch and its neat, cosy yet happening place to stay. More Important is the family staying there, Jason, Dan, Daniella, Ambrose all are so fun. Cards against Humanity is what I 'll remember. "My Ba**s on Your F**E" :-)

Awesome place. One of the best hostels I've stayed at. The staff, the facilities, the vibe are just amazing.

Wonderful place to enjoy the peace and quiet in the big city of Bucharest. Great atmosphere and sweet rooms. The courtyard is also super cosy, the kitchen very large to provide yourself with breakfast. In the evening there are concerts in the garden. Just beautiful. Thank you for the beautiful days in Bucharest!

All clean and prepared for our arrival, the guys who run the hostel are very nice and always offer to help and ask you if you need anything. 100% recommended. If I go back to Bucharest, I'll repeat.

Undoubtedly the best place to live in Bucharest! Jason is an amazing person and you will absolutely love dinners cooked by Amrose! I was so fascinated by every corner of the room, especially the tea zone which has around 50 different varieties of tea leaves! Love the vibe of the place :)

Podstel and staff were great! Accommodations were very clean, comfortable, safe and quiet. There is an excellent lounge with great tea and Wi-Fi. I highly recommend staying here!

Had the best experience I could wish for in this hostel. The staff are the most incredible fun, loving and caring people. Almost everyday they come up with different activity that brings everyone toghter. Definitely THE place to stay.

Decent hostel south of the old town. Staying somewhere north would've been better as this hostel is a bit secluded. Beds and rooms are nice, but heavily lacking in bathrooms/showers. A bit expensive for what it is (for Bucharest). The owners and staff are incredibly nice though!

Amazing experience for backpackers and anyone who wants to travel in Bucharest and meet new people. The staff is always available and ready to meet any request. Easy and friendly atmosphere!

Podstel is ideally located walking distance from the center of Bucharest. The guys running the hostel are super friendly and helpful. We stayed with a group of 5 and they were willing to move other guests around so we could have a room to ourselves. The building itself and garden are very nice and it is cleaned every day. I would definitely recommend staying here.

In May this year I visited Romania on my motorcycle and booked into Podstel because I learned that the Hostel in Bucharest had English and American management it piqued my curiosity. The fact they would allow me park my motorcycle off street in their garden was also a clincher as getting that privilege in a city centre is very rare. The hostel is in a quiet street in a large old house and the three dorms are on the ground floor and upstairs there's a private twin room. The house is in good repair and very clean for a building much used by people coming and going. An important feature for me is there is a tea house in the grounds where there are 45 teas to choose form. There is also marquee where talks, yoga, and performances are staged, or where you can just and drink tea or coffee. Nearby the marquee is a stage where various musicians now and then play their instruments. There is a wonderful atmosphere in the hostel and you soon find it's not a just a hostel to place your head on a pillow. There's life here, a pulse, nothing is too much trouble, you are met with only smiles and there is plenty of advice on hand to get the most of your visit to Bucharest and indeed Romania. The three young men who run the place have a vast experience of hostels and hosteling and have traveled the world extensively before setting up Podstel Hostel.

I stayed in Podstel a few months back as I was traveling north to Poland for a teacher training program. I stayed for two days in Podstel and had a really relaxed stay. Two of the owners went out of their way to make sure my stay went well, Jason and Daniel. Jason not only fed me because it was late at night when I'd arrived and had not eaten from a long bus ride, but he also offered a lot of life advice as he is well traveled and has a diversity of interests. I still keep in touch with Jason by the way. Daniel made sure I had a place to stay the second night because they were full. He found a place for me anyway. If you're in Bucharest, I highly recommend Podstel. I've probably stayed in close to 100 hostels and this was among the best. Thanks again Podstel staff!

The best hostel atmosphere comes from experienced travelers, the same way the best restaurant is owned by an experienced chef. Having provided a laundry service for the previous hostel and getting the chance to meet and work with the Podstel team when they took over, we noticed how the place improved and how they are so good at what they are doing. A great job done by young and passionate people. Awesome!

Stayed in Podstel Bucharest this summer (May 2017) and was very happy with the experience. I like the chilled vibe that has been created, it was more of a community than a hostel stay. Loved the friendly and helpful staff that offered great company and awesome recommendations worth checking out around the city. The tea garden was wonderful for hanging out in the evening and meeting other travellers. It's nice to find a place that wants to make a difference amongst the global hostel scene and create a wonderful stay for its guests. Great location in a quiet area, affordable rates, hot showers and easy access to the airport bus. It had everything I'd ask for in a hostel and can't wait to return again. Thank you for making my stay so awesome. From one happy solo traveller.

It has an incredibly friendly atmosphere, people and staff are extremely friendly. The place truly feels like home. I highly recommend it for anyone who wants to stay, or even work. It is very well facilitated for work and ultimate chilling.

The facilities were very poor. From clogged drains to the small stove. It's a relatively new hostel and the owners are working on improving them. With that said, the owners were awesome. They go beyond their means to ensure an amazing stay. The outdoor area is unlike anything I've seen at a hostel. Very inviting and relaxing.

Podstel is a great hostel, pretty close to the city centre. The owners are travellers themselves and are passionate about what they do: getting in contact with people and offering them a temporary home in the far. They know how to make you feel welcome and as if you knew each other for years, right from the beginning. Everything is uncomplicated and works smoothly. İt's a clean and nice place with a beautiful garden and teatent — there you can enjoy one of the 40+ varieties of tea they offer. Would definitely recommend and will most definitely come back some day!

The space, the staff (owners), location, well. Everything was great. Whenever I go back to Bucharest this will be the place to stay, definitely.

This place just feels like a home away from home, in the best possible way. Dan and Jason, the owners, are great people and are very dedicated to making your stay as enjoyable as possible. You can tell it's not just a job for them, it's a passion. The tea house is amazing, I must have had about twenty different kinds of tea while finding friends in the owners and the other guests. The hostel is about a 10 minute walk away from the metro station and the Old Town. I can't imagine a better place to explore Bucharest and the surrounding cities out of. Podstel Doors is easily the best hostel I've stayed at so far, I will be coming back for sure and would recommend it to everyone.

Podstel is an amazing hostel — definitely the place to stay in Bucharest! The guys at Podstel (Daniel & Jason, I wasn't lucky enough to meet Sam) are all friendly & welcoming, and obviously care about making sure their guests feel comfortable. It's so apparent that they aren't in this business simply to make a living — they are people who have traveled a lot, and have used their knowledge to put together a hostel with amazing features, where they can interact with travelers and help them to have a good time. There is the tea house, which has two functions: there is a bunch of tea that is available for purchase, and there is also a bunch of space (including a loft) for lounging, where you can meet other guests or locals who come in to buy tea. The loft is SUPER comfy, and is probably the best communal space I've ever seen in a hostel. Aside from all of this, their location is great, they have a nice, full-size kitchen, and they have laundry services (which include drying, a treat as far as I'm concerned). Stay at Podstel, you won't regret it.

What an interesting places to stay at. As I designer I really loved the combination of styles this place has. From the Tea room, to Bedrooms and hallways. All the little hidden details and precious efforts of owners to make this place like home. One more thing that made me feel like home is the upgraded they did to security and the policy of wearing slippers and warm socks (which they offer at the doors) inside the hostel. Hostel is close to the city center, has full functional kitchen and cozy bunk bed with lamp. Everything I needed. :)

Podstel is one of the best hostels I've come across in my travels. The new owners (Dan, Sam and Jase) are cracking hosts… they do not hesitate to help and already have a great knowledge of the city. The hostel itself is quaint, comfortable and homely. I look forward to returning to see the progress you've made… good job guys.

This hostel looks a little better on Hostelworld than in reality. The cheapest dorms have metal beds which are not particularly cool. The bathrooms are OK, but nothing fancy compared to the Antique Hostel for example. Get ready for a 50 lei deposit for a tiny locker, 5 lei for a towel and no payment by card. The outside patio with a kind of oriental chill-out zone is a massive plus. The common room is cool and the slightly more expensive dorms are better. Altogether, a very pleasant place to hang out.

Very nice small little hostel. Nice people, friendly staff, beautiful lounge, cheap beer, many teas, feels clean and homely.

Doors hostel has Ceainaria Cinci — a colorful and cozy teaplace, great friendly service, good prices, lovely garden. A place for quiet time or wor or fun — you choose. I just love it!

A/C is advertised but does not exist, only in one room and it does not work.

The tea place downstairs is blissful.

Great hostel, centrally located, shops are close by, awesomely helpful reception staff (Particularly Adien), and an awesome little tented sitting area outside. Plus they're bedrooms are quirky with lofts and such. Only tiny complaint would be the room next to reception could be sound proofed a little more. Could hear everything. Not a huge biggy though. Thanks guys.

The main advantage of this hotel in front of others is unusual entourage and very friendly staff. The location is excellent.
