Steigenberger Residence Doha

Very disappointing stay – serious hygiene and service issues.
Upon arrival, we were shocked to find fruit/drain flies in every single room of the apartment — in the cupboards, bathrooms, and inside the beds themselves. This was present from the moment we arrived, clearly showing the apartment had not been properly cleaned or checked before new guests checked in.
What makes this even more unacceptable is that we are staying here with a child. Having flies inside the beds in an apartment meant for families is completely unhygienic and distressing.
Because of trying to rectify this situation with staff, we lost our entire evening and were unable to go out as planned. To make matters worse, the TV was not working, further showing that even basic checks are not carried out before guests arrive.
We complained and were moved to a new apartment the following day, which again disrupted our plans as we had to wait until the afternoon to move. This meant we were unable to enjoy a full day out as originally planned.
For compensation, we were only offered use of the hot jacuzzi and a late checkout, which is frankly diabolical considering we had to spend the night in a fly-infested apartment with a child and lost valuable time from our trip.
We are still currently staying here and, quite honestly, cannot wait to get home. This experience has been stressful, unhygienic, and completely unacceptable.

I had a very disappointing experience at this hotel due to the extremely poor attitude of the supervisor and some of the staff (not all of them). They lack basic manners and professionalism. The supervisor, in particular, does not know how to handle problems or communicate politely with guests.
Additionally, I had placed an order through a delivery app and accidentally selected this hotel’s location. I immediately contacted the delivery service and asked them to leave the order at the reception, as I was far away and planned to come the next day. When I arrived the next day, I was informed that the chocolate had been thrown away. This was completely unacceptable.
I had already paid for the order, and they claimed they tried to contact me, but I never received any call or message. There was no apology and no compensation offered.
Overall, this was one of the worst customer service experiences I have ever had. Very disappointing and unprofessional.

The room on the residential side was excellent. The location was average but reasonably accessible. Unfortunately, the reception staff were quite unwelcoming—there was no greeting, and their attitude felt dismissive. In contrast, the rest of the hotel staff, including the bellboys and housekeeping team, were outstanding. They were always friendly, smiling, and polite.
Overall, for the price we paid, I would have expected a higher level of service, particularly at reception. That said, the rooms were clean, well maintained, and well equipped and the room pool space etc was great.

My experience with this hotel was extremely disappointing and far below acceptable standards. I booked through Booking. Com, where it was clearly stated that the bed type would be confirmed upon arrival. Despite this, the manager and front desk staff completely disregarded the booking details, and the staff member even suggested renting an additional bed — an unreasonable and unprofessional response. The manager, unfortunately, provided absolutely no support or solution.
Furthermore, the room itself had multiple serious issues: water leaking from the shower, no drinking water provided, and a clear shortage of towels. These are basic requirements that any hotel should meet without question.
Overall, the stay was highly uncomfortable and did not reflect the quality expected from a hotel. I strongly do not recommend this property.

Amazing place to stay BUT HAD TO CHANGE THE STARS AS THE ENDING WASN’T GREAT.
Our apartment was beautiful and large — we had amazing space for my sisters two young children!
The rooms had everything you could think off and staff always replaced and refilled everything everyday which was lovely to have!
Only downside to the rooms which is why I didn’t give it 5 was a few things were not working like two of the remotes out of three, one bidet in one bathroom.
**** Also to note all staff are amazing but the actual front desk hotel staff are not helpful at all and systems for checkout can only be done on the day which isn’t great. We also just paid for extra checkout and they have just said we only have the room and not the dinner included which was our original package anyway and we paid an extra £150 for a few hours for the room… but not the buffet included which we had included anyway…we just spoke to the manager Rayen and Dina who said we paid for a late checkout only and did not even communicate the fact we paid for late check out without the dinner? We paid a high price but with nothing included. This disappointed us massively. Before this the stay was amazing — all staff are great but on the front desk they aren’t helpful or accommodating or even care they just want us to pay extra for the food even though we paid for extra checkout!
The food service was exceptional!

Not a great experience! The location is not good, in middle of busy street, traffic, and away from tourists sites! The price is expensive! The room is noisy & the a/c is awful! The service is slow and bad! The cleanliness is poor; you could see stains and disgusting spots on carpet and sofa! The bathroom towel is too old it has holes in it, torn up! You have to beg for extra bedding, blankets and sheets! The valet service is slow & service you based on attitude! If they don’t like you, they make you wait longer, like what happened to me with this guy named Sultan! I’m not sure what I said or did to him, but he made sure I waited longer & slipped other people inline!

This hotel delivered one of the most unprofessional experiences I have ever had, especially for a 5-star German brand.
I booked and fully paid for a Premium One-Bedroom Apartment, clearly written on my official voucher.
Yet the hotel placed me in a lower Deluxe category, which their own staff later confirmed in writing.
So the situation is simple:
I paid for Premium and received Deluxe, without notice, explanation, apology, or compensation.
When I asked for clarification, the hotel avoided responsibility and pushed the issue to the travel agency, even though my voucher clearly shows “Premium” and the downgrade was confirmed by the hotel itself.
This is not a misunderstanding, it’s a serious failure in transparency and professionalism.
The downgrade affected the entire quality of my stay.
I invested significant money, planned everything in advance, and expected the Premium experience I paid for, but the hotel delivered less and showed no initiative to correct their mistake.
A 5-star property should never behave like this.
Delivering a lower room category than the one paid for, and refusing accountability, is a major breach of trust.

The Residence is okay to stay for a few days, nothing special. Long term not recommended. The Rooms are average with almost zero closet space, beds are well used with soft mattresses. The couches has indents from being overused and old and not replaced. Found the AC to be very dusty, even with the once a week cleaning facilities. Many times I have found the garbage area littered with garbage and clearly it is not well monitored by the staff. The area is busy dirty and overpopulated. No paths or places to go for a walk. The outer windows can do with a cleaning as it appears not have been cleaned for ages.
After staying there for 8 months, I have moved out 9 days ago and still have to chase for my deposit refund. This should be a simple thing to do, yet I am the one doing the follow ups. The Residence Manager is non responsive and just doesn't care.
The only highlight is Sarra and the reception staff at the residence desk who always smiled and helpful.

I have stayed in many hotels/apartments all over the world however Steigenberger Residence tops all of them. The apartment we stayed in was amazing and comfortable. The room was always cleaned to a high standard, honestly Top 3 places I’ve ever stayed in. Staff are very friendly, valet parking was good. They have a roof top pool which the kids loved. Don’t think twice about booking this place, it’s top tier 👌🏼👌🏼👌🏼 thank you to the staff at Steigenberger residence for making our stay a wonderful one, we will definitely be returning when travelling to Qatar 🇶🇦

Adil and Shabibur are top workers always helpful and friendly. Their service is 5 star. They will go out their way to help get anything you need making the rooms clean and top. Top people.

I have stayed at this Residence many times. I am grateful for the consistently comfortable and wonderful service every time.
Whenever I arrive from Japan to Qatar, even though it's in the early morning, Mr. Arsal is always the one attending to me at the front desk. He is incredibly kind and provides meticulous service. Every time I stay here, I realize that choosing this Residence was the right decision.
If you are planning to stay for about a week, I highly recommend a Residence than hotel. It comes equipped with a kitchen, a washing machine, and other amenities, making for a very comfortable stay.
Another point is the food delivery service: it's usually impossible to have it brought up to your room if it’s hotel, but at the Residence, they bring it right to your door.
You can also request housekeeping 24 hours a day, just like at a hotel.
There are cafes and restaurants on the ground floor. Even as a Residence guest, you can use the hotel's gym and other facilities.
There is a supermarket right next to the hotel, which makes it convenient for buying daily necessities.

We have stayed here for less than a year.
Special thanks to the housekeeping staff, Mr. Evan and Rifat, who clean our house every week. They really make my life easier.
Compared to my previous apartment, this place provides regular pest control, air-conditioning, and plumbing maintenance. So far, I haven’t had any problems with cockroaches.
I’m also glad that Talabat, Carrefour, and Lulu deliveries are allowed to send goods straight to our door.
Any reported damages are also resolved quickly.
Almeera is just next door if you want to buy groceries.

It's been a great stay and comfort with Steigenberger. The house keeping staffs are super awesome with their prompt schedule and cleanliness which is beyond exceptional. Would like to mention about Evan and Rifat who are amazing in their daily duties related to housekeeping delivering 5 star service.

We absolutely loved our stay at this hotel! The service was exceptional from start to finish. Our room was spacious, clean, and very comfortable. The kitchen was well-equipped with all the utensils and tools we needed for cooking, which made things super convenient.
Breakfast was delicious, though it does get a bit crowded during peak hours (08:00–09:00). Still, the F&B crew handled everything amazingly well—big kudos to them!
The gym had plenty of equipment, and there was even a table tennis area that added a fun touch. The hotel itself is quite large, so be prepared for a bit of walking.
The highlight for us was definitely the pool—what a fantastic space! Our kids especially loved the children’s pool and nearby play area. Huge shoutout to Lil, the lifeguard—he was absolutely the best! Friendly, attentive, and great with the kids.

This property rating should be 3 stars. Its service is so bad including staff behavior. The breakfast is so boring and bland. The room is very uncomfortable and overall service is very outdated. I regret staying here.

Stayed in the residencies for 10 days and could not fault Steigenberger. The rooms were cleaned every day, staff were super polite and it is ideally located for the metro.

I would not book Steigenberger residence Doha again. If there is any problem they will not look for a solution and will keep all the money.
We couldn't go to Steigenberger residence Doha because Qatar Airways would not give a transit Visa if we stayed at Steigenberger residence Doha. It was something out of our controll and even a little compensation would be appreciated, but they kept 100% of our money. We travel a lot and it happened before that we couldn't reach our destination and then the hotel always tried to look for some kind of solution, but in this case there was zero effort and so I would advice not to book with them.
