Avoid This Hotel If You Want a Relaxing, Stress-Free Staycation**
If you’re looking for a relaxing and enjoyable staycation, **DO NOT BOOK THIS HOTEL**.
**Rooms:** The rooms are shockingly outdated and look nothing like the photos online. The beds are ancient, the carpets haven't been cleaned in ages, and the dim lighting makes the atmosphere depressing. Some lamps didn't even work. The bathroom was a nightmare—old, rusty, with no floor mats, and they use the cheapest possible toilet paper.
**Visitor Policy:** They have an absurd visitor policy that isn’t clearly stated online. We hosted a small birthday celebration for our son, inviting a few friends for a short visit, and they tried to charge us **50 QAR per visitor**! They insisted it was hotel policy but never mentioned it online, and then had the nerve to blame us for not calling to ask. This felt like a scam.
**Playroom:** The playroom is another major disappointment. It’s nothing like the pictures online. Exposed screws on the playhouse make it dangerous, and it looked like it hadn’t been cleaned in ages. The area was small and seemed to be a breeding ground for mosquitoes.
**Pool:** The pool was old and poorly maintained. To make matters worse, I witnessed gym members, still sweaty from their workout, jumping into the pool. Absolutely disgusting!
**Breakfast Buffet:** The so-called “breakfast buffet” is a total scam. Instead of a buffet, we were handed a limited menu (though they claimed it was unlimited ordering).

Not recommended to anyone.
I booked for 2 nights.
As I checked-in in the reception, I was advised that visitor is not allowed. The lady handed me a paper to sign where the rules is written.
I am so disappointed as I am with my two lady friends (same nationality as me) with me and supposed to sit in the room that I booked and relax a little bit.
I asked the receptionist what is the reason why there is such rule, and she just answered me that "that is the rules".
Well I do understand that they can implement rules that they wanted, however, they should at least write it in their house rules so we are aware before booking. That rules wasn't written when I do the booking.
As I was complaining in the reception, the lady receptionist allowed my friends to just drop me in my room for "5 minutes"! and she give extra more 5 minutes from her side as she said.
It was so embarrassing to tell this to my friends as they help me drag my luggage's going to this hotel, I just want them to relax a little bit.
I can also understand if they can give time period for visitor to come over as this is what normal things in hotel policy, however imagine the 5 minutes? It's not acceptable at all.
Also, they collected the ID's of my friend and kept in their possession, which is normally they should only take a copy of it not keeping it with them.
Another thing, the room is so bad that you can hear any small moves from the other rooms.
Overall, It was really really horrible stay.

Nice Ambienceof the hotel. Cooperative staff. More importantly their room space is excellent with fully luxury facilities. I will must go with 5 stars in terms of service, location & rooms.

I’ll start with the positives. I really liked the location and the staff were really friendly. The negatives. The initial room we were in had a horrible smell and didn’t have any towels or toilet papers. Because we were so tired from long travels, we just went straight to sleep. Few hours later my daughter woke up and saw a small bug on her bed, when I captured the bug, it was a BED BUG! A BED BUG!
We wheeled our bags out right away and placed all of our clothes in a plastic bag and left immediately. We were placed in another room on an another floor as it was the middle of the night. After thorough inspection of the room and changing all the sheets in the new room we completed our one night there and left the next day. We were supposed to be there for 9 days! Absolutely NOT!

The receptionist Mr. ABu Backr was very rude. We had a visitor who would stay only for an hour (just waiting for his flight sched that day) but he charged for additional 70qr. We can't do anything if that is the policy, but at least be polite in explaining to the guests.

Incredible bad service. They do not accept my booking because of VISA not accepted they say and then take the caution on my Visa. I suggest to look for other hotel. Badest service ever.

People here are extremely unhelpful and will not move one finger after you have paid them. They dont care about anything. They are rude and uncooperative. I DO NOT recommend this place.

Worst hotel I have ever I been in my entire life, visited many countries and hotels but this one is really unrecommened as it is very dirty room and bad employers and very rude including nonsense polices and regulations that has never been in any hotel in the world and the food just suck… my recommendation dont ever book it its a waste of money.

Everybody was extremely polite, very friendly and helpful. Food was very enjoyable, well displayed and very colorful. Mr Sayed was amazing and made sure we were all happy. Thank you to Management, all Chef's and all staff.

This is my first time in this hotel, I am highly recommended golden ocean to specialy Indian and Mumbaikar, rooms are clean. Specialy bathroom. One thing I mustbconcern with is the Wi-Fi. I hope they will do something about this! Poor connection for Wi-Fi. 🤧😢. Thanks for all staff very helpful and co-operative.

I highly recommend this place with wonderful ambience and delicious food… visited couple of times with family and friends… had good moments ♥️
