Didnt stay here but treated myself to lunch as the restaurant has spectacular views. Starter and dessert looked amazing and were delicious but sent main course back as it was cold. Came back looking like it had been zapped in microwave… even the salad garnish… sent it back again. Staff were very apologetic and removed it from my bill. Complimentary coffee on the bar terrace was a nice touch.

The Hotel is located directly on the coast with amazing sunsets. It is not installed, clear, clean, beautiful rooms, very nice staff and very tasty food. The Night, the pure sin and sooooo delicious! The sea view from the balcony was worth the trip!

Best place to eat fresh fish in San Miguel.

The outdoor setting of this hotel is exceptional, the vegetation is magnificent. The pool is a delight to all. The view from the restaurant / small dej is magical, the food is good. Flat on the bedding and on the fact that it lacks a bit of development for children like a pool for example. This hotel is worth visiting, a cove sublime to bathe a few meter, it is extremely well located for exploring the island.

Each of the Sao Miguel, I highly recommend visits here to check in, I am completely happy and satisfied. For me clearly the best Hotel on the island! Super clean, great large rooms, best location, great view, very good Service, everything here is.

The location is unique and the view gorgeous — the Hammer. The rooms are very large and all with sea views. Breakfast could be extended a little, for the dinner was always very tasty, something for everyone. We liked it very well.

Nice room, great views, clean and in top condition. Friendly and competent stuff, well versed in English. Good cuisine. Clearly my favourite vacation spot.

A wonderful stay in Paradise. Beautiful place with GOOD food. Especially enjoyed placing music in the lounge. The beaches were magical!

Good hotel, nice staff. Amazing surroundings. Small beach nearby and ofcourse the hotel pool, with bar. If you don't feel like a big dinner, you can always have a burger and fries there (until 7).

Relaxing in Perfection The Caloura Hotel Resort is an perfect Place to relax. It is realy quiet there. The Rooms have all that wonderfull View to the Atlantik. For me nothing can be better than this Place at the Azores.

Great Hotel in a fantastic location directly on the Atlantic ocean. To reach the small sandy beach by foot. Very friendly staff. We were 2 weeks there and we felt very comfortable. Only the Buffet could be a bit more varied.

Beautiful, peaceful location. Outstanding views from room's balcony. Staff very helpful and friendly. Bar restaurant had good food, reasonably priced. Included breakfast was nice also. Plenty of onsite parking.

Beautiful location on the island. Centrally located and yet quiet. Beautiful sunsets while enjoying a great cocktail made by Catarina! The food is fantastic also.

What an amazing stay our large group experienced at this beautiful resort. Every thing about our stay here was beyond perfect! The staff is amazing, the food, space and beautiful views. Top notch.

Location — Incredible views and location. 5+ stars. Stairs down to beach. Facilities — Modern, well kept common facilities. Awesome, sparkling pool. Easy, close parking. Service — Check in was very nice esp. Given we had some self-induced check-in difficulties the staff handled politely and patiently. Rooms — Amazing views from the balcony. However, given the price, I'm disappointed in the quality of the room. Some furniture pieces are scraped, toilet seat was broken, no vent fan or window in bathroom, Wi-Fi is very slow (I'm not streaming anything). Pro-tip — get a 2nd room card (not offered on checkin) so you can leave it in the room card slot for power in your room when you leave (say for charging something or keeping room temp non-sweltering for your return) — — All power to the room is turned off when you remove that card. Easy 5 stars if they updated the rooms.

Tranquility, good starting point to explore São Miguel with a rental car. Nice staff. Small scale hotel. Shame that internet access was so bad.

Excellent hotel! The view of the ocean is amazing, the pool is quite large and at this time of the year, you don't have to fight for chairs at the pool (end of June, don't know how it's in July/August). Its really peaceful and quiet, especially since the hotel isn't really child friendly. For example the food (we only tried the buffet) is great for me, but I can imagine kids don't liking it that much. Breakfast is also fine with a great amount of different kinds of bread and bacon, eggs, sausages, cheese, ham etc. The Wi-Fi signal in the room (we were at the second floor) was quite poor so I ended up using my own mobile data a lot more (free roaming, finally! ). We used the snackbar (open from 10:00 to 24:00) almost every day to have lunch but also for the excellent cocktails. Snackbar isn't very cheap but the food is really good. Finally the staff (with no exceptions) is one of the most friendliest I have ever witnessed while on holiday!

This hotel is great. The location is perfect for exploring the island. The food in the restaurant is great. Different buffet every evening for a great price. The pool area is spacious and never seemed to get crowded. Staff was really friendly and helpful.

We spent here five days in July 2016. This is a nice quiet Hotel with friendly staff and a great view over the ocean. There is a fine pool, which is welcome by the guests. There are not many places for swimming in this region: the hotel's access to the sea is not easily accessible and uncomfortable. However, there is a small public beach (not under surveillance) hundred meters down the road. The building and the furnishing are visibly old, but everything is clean and kept in order. The restaurant is ok, they use local ingredents a lot, however, we usually preferred the snack bar. This is no party place, but a relaxing and comfortable home between your excursions. We enjoyed our stay here a lot.

Catarina and Mariella (Brown hair) made our stay the BEST! Just something as simple as espresso on the terrace gazing at that beautiful open sea… This hotel rocks. We loved everything about it. It is on the most beautiful part of the island… flowers, beach, pool, food, wine, whales, dolphins, mineral springs, and the staff at the Caloura… top notch! We can't wait to come back!
