Great place to stay in Porto.

Fantastic historical building exceptional staff.

Excellent location riverfront in the middle of all the festivities.

The rooms overlook a separate building 2 meters away with clothes hanging on the windows. We went with another couple they British, and we Spaniards, I don't know if that was the reason but at Reception they gave us a worse room. They booking with booking and paying less had views of the Douro River and balcony, we booked directly on the website of the Pestana hotel chain, we paid more and they gave us a room overlooking the back street that I commented. We talked about it at dinner on our last night there and found out what they paid for and what their room was like by chance. They should take care of those details, if you pay more you must have a better room. Attached photos of views of both rooms.

The only place to stay in Porto. Brilliant service and room with a view.

The hotel is located on the sidewalk of the river. The locatin is a lot of tourists many restaurants street performance and generally speaking it is ebullient. The hotel is equipped with all the luxury necessary for any normal tourist. The staff are friendly and do thier work Effectively.

We started our tour around Northern Portugal here with 3 days. Luis, the GM, and his team made us feel so welcome and went out of their way to assist me. They organised a private space to celebrate my wife's birthday. Great local recommendations. And the location of the hotel is just fantastic. Take a room with a view!

Great location, standard of bedroom and maid service excellent. Concierge service helpful. Breakfast service slow and disappointing, more staff needed or better training.

Location wise you cant do better than this if you want want to be in the. Middle of all the action. Great view of the Douro River, surrounded by a huge variety of restaurants where you can feast on fresh fish aplenty. Sit outside and watch the crowds go by, the river cruise take off, impromptu musicians or magicians perform … it's magical.

The most amazing hotel. Part of Unesco world heritage site, with stunning views of the Douro, Gaia and the Luiz 1 bridge. The staff were wonderful from the moment that we set foot on the pavement! The rooms are really beautiful and the breakfast buffet that is beyond belief — think artisan foods, organic honey from a small farm, sheep's milk cheese, medieval dishes recreated by the chef and expertly presented by Joao. Wonderful place, I hope to go back soon!

Very good value for money and privileged location in Oporto.

The staff does not behave like a staff from a 5 stars hotel. I’d give it 3 stars the most. The day I’ve arrived there was no one to carry the luggage no one said hello no one cared. The staff talked to each other like they were drinking at a pub ignoring the guests. The receptionist looked stoned and told me to drive the car in a forbidden way route to the Parking lot. Huge discussion after that. Later we had dinner in the hotel “steakhouse” restaurant and got food poisoned by a burger smelling like kerosene. Bad experience but the hotel was good.

Very nice Hotel in a convenient location. Beautiful view of the bridge and the Duoro. Very friendly and helpful staff Cleaning OK. Good breakfast I put 4 stars because the price is quite high compared to the quality of the room (Suite with view on the second floor).

The pestana boutique hotel is so good location in side the porto. Porto is lovely city lovely people best habitats I love crazy porto life and all. The pestana hotel so clean 402 room has beatifull view for all river brige light centrum nearly pestana so many activities and so best little local restaurants and caffe. Porto kitchens is best fish amazing rabbit fantastic. When u go there u do river boat tours. I advice so exciting everybody porto and pestana hotel.

I really like Porto, a well kept historical place. This hotel is like a landmark by itself, facing the river front with colorful building. It is fully restored and expect a 5 stars room service, so as the price. The breakfast is fabulous. Very good location indeed. However, my advice is to ask for room with river front, it is definitely more expensive, but this is the selling point of this hotel.

Hotel composed of several renovated adjoining buildings, place Ribeira on the quays opposite the cellars of the wine producers of Porto.

Great service. The breakfast was excellent. Good clean rooms (to the river ZT small). Coffee maker and kettle in the room. From here everything is easy to reach: Home goes downhill.

Hotel with charm especially if you take room with a view of the river, in typical stone building and right next to the piers where the boats leave to navigate the Douro to Otrolado is the bank of all the most important wineries in Porto.

This hotel is wonderful! It feels exclusive and has great breakfast. The rooms are spacious and very trendy. The balcony rooms overlook the river and it is definitely worth it!

Fabulous location on the Douro river in Porto within walking distance to major attractions. Friendly attentive staff. The building is a UNESCO world heritage site. The rooms are well appointed with modern amenities.

It is a good hotel, simple but neat. Location is great for tourists but a bit noisy to sleep. Breakfast is nice and rooms are good. My air conditioning was broken and the hotel did not manage to fix it, as I slept only two nights there. When I reported the problem, at check out, they offered a 15% discount. Obviously I would prefer a good night of sleep, which I did not have, but I found the offer thoughtful.

The perfect hotel for Porto-class location.

Lovely hotel in a premium position in Porto with excellent river/bridge view during redbull air race. Extremely attentive staff upgraded us and surprised us with bubbly and cake on our wedding anniversary. Couldn't be happier with the stay and the city.

I am simply in love with this hotel. The location is the best part, the restaurant the knowledge of the staff the menu options the food quality. I simply miss all of them till now.

For the very unprofessional service, you do not get the price list letter that are very high in relation to the quality.
A few simple chamomiles had to be reprepared and the lemonade was water with two slices of lemon

Simply amazing, you cannot beat the location overlooking the Rio Douro. Highly recommend booking a room w a view of the river. Class act staff, beautiful rooms (people say cozy/small but coming from NYC, not so) with large marble bathroom including soaking tub. Really easy to walk throughout the city, walk over bridge to Vila Nova de Gaia or even take tram to Matosinhos. I highly recommend stay here.

Absolutely everything was perfect. We stsyed on our wedding night and it couldnt have been better. Prome location with great views, beautiful rooms and stunning food. Room emaculate and staff extremely polite and couldnt have been more helpful. Will certainly be one of those couples that returns year on year.

This has to be one of the best locations in Porto. On the river front with spectacular views. If you are lucky enough to get room 602 you will appreciate it even more.

Very nice hotel. In an old setting, the rooms are modern and very well renovated. The staff are very nice and the breakfast delicious. Only downside, either your room overlooks the river. Either on the building opposite, which is very close and it is much less good.

Excellent location.

My husband and I stayed at this hotel for the second half of our honeymoon. We paid extra upon arrival to upgrade to a room with a view of the river — I highly recommend this. The double Juliette balconies overlooking the river street made for amazing evenings in the hotel, listening to the live music on the streets, and watching the sunset over the Douro. The room was incredibly comfortable and well appointed. We ordered room service several times, and not only was the food high quality, moderately priced, and delicious, but all of the staff were kind and ridiculously helpful. The front desk staff offered advice on local tours, restaurants, and even helped us figure out train fares to other cities in Portugal. The other hotel we stayed at in Porto was cheaper, but this was well worth the price for such a fantastic stay.

So comfortable and such a patient and painstaking restoration/renovation of 20 adjacent historic structures along the Douro River. I would be thrilled to return here.

One of the most pleasant, enjoyable places to stay. We can't say enough about the great service from every employee who worked there before-during and after the Easter 2016 weekend. If there are stars, we give it five out of five.

We were in 2013 with the motorcycle on the road and stay 3 times. The hotel although very central, easy to reach (with Navi). To find the staff very friendly and helpful to a parking lot, which was not easy.
Rooms very nice and clean. Great views of the Rio Douro (with the book take into account). The building is great renovated without forgetting the history of this building.
Breakfast very rich on historical wall.
The Pestana is a hotel that I will book at any time even if not very cheap.

More of this hotel is the area and the night views, if you take a room with views to the Duero… aunqe is a little expensive for the price average of the hotels in Porto,
