The hotel is well located. Near the train station, the city centre, public transport and tourist sites. However, the room is small, the bed very narrow for two people. The room was more or less clean but the smell was not at the top. But we only stayed one night before we got home. So it was for a night of relief.
We had a room where we had no noise from outside, very quiet at night, overall we were satisfied.
The staff are super friendly, very polite and nice. Breakfast was fine for my taste, simple, no artifice but all it takes to start the day.

It's a terrible place. Stinky rooms that smelled of mold. Ordered 3 rooms through booking, non-refundable payment. As a result, I lost 300 euros in two days. The administration did not return the money even for the city tax, and in the hotel we did not stay overnight. I strongly don't recommend.

Very good service. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The only constructive criticism is the girl at the front desk, she's a long black haired girl, I don't know what her name is. It'S in the morning. I Did Not like some attitudes and ways of answering… We are always good at talking to her… But she had unsuitable answers for tourists and less tourists who do not understand Portuguese well. We Do Not want to be dismissed or punished but they do talk to you, because they are not ways to treat people who are paying your salary. Everything else was excellent, the staff were very friendly and helpful. Extremely kind, affectionate, willing and were available if I needed something, because my husband was sick and was Dr. Elisa Carvalho to see him in the room. I Also appreciate the delicacy and excellent treatment of the girl who is at reception first thing in the morning before she enters the black hair receptionist. She Is blonde and very pretty and treated us with great delicacy, attention and GRATITUDE. José Daniel Ferrari and Pilar Cormenzana. Room 207. We stayed on the 5th and 6th of June. Central Location, clean but old structure and not exactly perfectly kept. Bathroom uncomfortable and tight. Sanitary fittings and Old taps.

Very basic across the board! Rooms are empty with one desk, two beds and one picture. The place looks like it is falling apart and very out dated. However, we have been to Tangier and this is a 4-star in comparison. We came to town not knowing it was during their national car race through the streets. The staff was no help with information and did not inform us that due to the hotel being on the race route, we would not be able to get back into the hotel until late that night. Fortunately, porto has a lot to offer and we kept busy for hours. The other part was parking. You can use their garage about a kilometer away, but don't ask them how to get there, they will just get mad and tell you they don't know because they don't drive. Breakfast is included and is ok, but basic. The only warm items are the coffee and the toast. And do not try and take anything to your room such as an apple or you will be charged! The one cool thing was the window in our room opened to the street and had we have been able to get in, we would have had great seats lol. Avoid if possible, but if not, bring your attitude because you will need it.

Excellent location, meters from the San Bento station. The facilities are comfortable although they could be better maintained.

It was a very nice hotel. Reasonable rates. Heating in the rooms limited and non existent in the bathroom. Friendly staff.

A shop like the old-time! Excellent service and quality, all made by the know-how of a family for more than 100 years! Well done! A must see!

Old hotel, the rooms are pretty uncomfortable. For example, in mine there was no table or chair, but there was a bidet…
Very cold in winter, despite the heater. And, if you are settled on the 5th floor, the Internet can not even dream — even if you paid for it at the time of booking.
Breakfasts are pretty good by Portuguese standards. But the main plus is the great location, almost the most center in 50 aunts from Sau Bento.

Very old Hotel with corridors with beautiful tiled, very well located, close to Porto station. I was very cold, the bathroom is not heated. The facilities are not the best. The closet had a damp smell that made it impossible to use. The breakfast is good but the human attention is of very poor quality. Unmotivated employees, among them does not circulate well the information I called a doctor, they did not let it up, I had to ask again and wait another 3 hours. A disaster! I don't recommend it at all. It was a bad experience!

The hotel is not heated c is a freezer the lavatory split the broken bidet no shutters the shower is not heated no remote control for TV and 3 chains a broken socket The lock is mounted upside down the Wi-Fi does not work on 5th floor so no Wi-Fi In my room. No bathroom in the room nor toilet fortunately there is power it is like in the Middle Ages I forgot the hot water false count at least 10 minutes to have them turn off all the lights of the hotel to save money… non-existent soundproofing The only advantage of the hotel is full center that's all!

It's a nice hotel with a great location just needs some work done to make it even better.

Impossible to sleep much noise and the reception still above on the defensive… I don't advise this hotel.

The location makes it ideal for visiting Porto. The facility would need renovations, breakfast is buffet but doesn't offer much.

Very dated hotel despite being a beautiful building really full of character. Feels like a trip to the 50s walking through the hotel corridors. I had a room on the top floor that felt like a very run down luxury suite with 4 beds, very spacious and with a terrace lounge right outside the room. Must have been grand in the past but needing some work. Breakfast is very good and lady serving it is very nice and helpful. The reception staff are not particularly customer service oriented but get the job done.

Really bad service with Reception staff. I had emailed them to make sure I had Wi-Fi in my room (I needed it for work) & they said I did. When I checked in I was told I didn't. There 'solution' was that I pay more money to be moved to a new room or go sit in a lounge room 4 floors down. I was not happy with the service I got & they didn't seem to care. It was always 'someone else's' mistake. Breakfast was included in price which was good value & room cleaning staff were very nice & friendly. Shame about Reception staff. I would not recommend this place.

It's okay for one or two day, lovely staff but the should buy some furniture it's look like a jump back in the 50's!

Does what it says on the tin. Don't expect the Ritz, because you aren't paying for it. Rooms were small. Bathroom was cramped and pretty disgusting. But the location was great and the decor was interesting. The staff helpful and friendly. You get what you pay for, and it was fine for the price.

Located in the very centre of Oporto single room but with everything you need, the full breakfast and the very nice dining room with the typical Portuguese tiles.

Exceptional location right in the city center for this hotel from another time. A lot of charm in the decoration of the fillings. For the rooms it is much more rudimentary. Can be a little noisy. If you are by car count 15 euros parking (24h) in a nearby underground parking.

Right in the center of the city parking one can higher a I believe €7 ~. Room and bathroom clean comfortable bed, no double glazing so you sensitive souls loud me personal impeccable breakfast included in the varied buffet room. And at the reception we make the effort of speaking French and TT the indications in are also written in French in addition to the other Langue5

A very top located hotel to reach by both metro and train easily. You can view the hotel as soon as you leave the Sao Bento metro station. The lateral entrance of Sao Bento train station is just across the hotel as well. You can even leave your room and catch the train departing to Braga in ten minutes. Porto is quite a hilly city, therefore an accommodation next to public transportation stations is priceless. Nevertheles, almost everything of touristic importance is within walking distance to Hotel Peninsular. You can even reach the scenic Luis 1 Bridge and the Villa Nova de Gaia bank of the Douro River with a short downward walk. As for the hotel, it is a bit old and somewhat gloomy, but elegantly decorated. Our room was spacious and comfortable with air conditioner, TV set, mini bar and a safe. It was a pleasant surprise to find both a jacuzzi tub and a shower in the bathroom. Breakfast was good enough and was served in a classy hall. I certainly recommend Hotel Peninsular. As a last note, if you'll reach from the airport by metro, be sure to purchase an Andante Card and charge it with a title of Z4 trip ticket and make a switch to D (yellow) line at Trindade.

Economic. Ok for 2 — 3 nights, if you can adapt and prefer the price to the service.

Place of yesterday very clean home well ensuring service breakfast excellent, private parking a few meters, ideal location to get down to the Douro.

Small hotel in very good location near the center of Porto. My room was not very comfortable, but breakfast was good and staff very helpful.

This hotel is absolutely not suitable po7r a handicapped person but it estctres dilapidated.

Yes the whole layout of the hotel building may appear dated but this adds to the charm and after spending time in a sterile modular modern style Ibis Hotel it made me feel a little bit more humane for the 4 day stay. Excellently located, great staff and kept clean at all times.

Hi, I have reservadouna room dobleen this hotel to enter from day 2 until April 4, then I réserved a room more than one unique person for 64 euros for the same dates, but knowing that it has no windows, defeat it and hire another double, and surprise send me a charge of 32 euros, when in the booking conditions puts the cancellation until 30 March is 0 euros and today We are on February 24 would eye, care?
