Nice staff, nice rooms, excellent beds and a good location in Sesimbra. It is nice to fall asleep and wake up to the sound of the waves from the ocean.

It was very good all this perfect thank you very much to the staff were 5 stars recommend to all my friends and family with great taste thank you.

Very welcoming, rustic, friendly staff, well signposted, 9 floors with fast elevators, great cleaning, I will come back.

From a 4 star hotel you should expect more than what’s offered. Short diversity of the menu, as the hotel is old needs some updates on the rooms as it will be appreciated an access ramp directly to the beach, it has direct access to the beach but only stairs (a lot of them) and it’s difficult to go with all the stuff and kids (baby cars etc. ). Over all is ok but for sure not a 4 star hotel.

Overpriced for what it offers, particularly in the restaurant. Clean, cosy and retro. Friendly and helpful staff. Great view of the ocean, nice gardens and pool area. In need of some serious renovation, like the inner pool. Small gym with a view to the beach was a nice surprise.

It is a wonderful vintage place. The hotel stopped in time and that is the reason for its charm. The staff is very friendly and efficient. The furniture and paintings through out of the hotel make you travel to the gold age of summer vacations by the sea in the 50's and 60's. Love it!

We had a very large room with a seating area and balcony with great view, only drawback was that it was below the restaurant and the scraping of chairs on the tiled floor above was disturbing, also it was next to the bar which had cheesy cabaret on the piano till late. This was the 8th floor. The hotel was one of the first in the town and is showing its age although still very good standardLovely gardens, pool, etc. Attentive staff. 10 minute walk to town. High up on cliffs which gives great views.

Really noisy guests. Staff don’t take action to help when drunk guests are being disruptive. When I use the phone in my room to call reception or room service, no one answers. Quite poor customer service overall.

Great location close to the beach and nice views of the seaside. Decent rooms and nice gardens. Staff, specially at the restaurant was being kind.

The Head Barman Manuel jose treats you like family, it's the best place to relax looking at the sea plus fantastic food.

I've been coming here three years. The hotel has an unbeatable location but I think you already need an upgrade to common areas and rooms. It gets very very old for a 4 star.

The hotel has the charm of a 70s DDR hotel just before the turn. Small rooms with leaky windows and doors. The bathroom is very small and the joints are partly marked with mildew. The hotel was very clean. Breakfast is average coffee but unpalatable.

The hotel is somewhat old but the facilities are very good. Breakfast was very good.

Beachfront Hotel with pool worth a stop.

The hotel already needs a good renovation, but it is comfortable, this right opposite to the beach and its kitchen is quite good. A nice place to be in Sesimbra.

I really enjoyed it.

Great location and views. Rooms are clean and comfortable. Breakfast can be improved a lot: juices are terrible, scrambled eggs are overcooked, bacon is raw, coffee is simply bad, … It is a good place to stay for weekend and enjoy the small village and restaurants around.

The place is unbeatable and nice. The hotel has everything you can ask for and spacious rooms with terracotta and sea views. If you have to put some glue, is that it is leaving something vejete.

The first view is deceptive, although the hotel do Mar is a typical holiday hotel from the outside, but from the inside it turns out to be very nicely furnished accommodation. Especially noteworthy are the old clinker floors, the blinds and wooden doors, the beautiful white walls with fan abrasion and the many pictures of local artists. A touch of pousada, antique, simple but romantic. The facilities are ok, everything is important, including air conditioning. The cleanliness is not a matter of course for such a large hotel. The staff is friendly and helpful, The breakfast buffet is a surprise for Portuguese conditions. The hotel do Mar is an inexpensive recommendation for romantics and those who want to appreciate the fantastic sea view and to listen to the surf at night.

Although the hotel is probably a little bit dated and in some ways oddly laid out, as far as we were concerned these things only add to its charm. The whole place is nice and comfortable with an excellent standard of housekeeping, and all the staff that we met were friendly and obliging. I would definitely come back, especially once the 'lightning fast' local road crew have finished relaying the surrounding roads!

Our room was located in front of the pool Nd the view was amazing. Good variety in terms of breakfast. And staff were helpful as well. The location is just perfect in terms of restaurants nearby and an evening walk by the sea!

Restaurant: Breakfast very good and complete. Buffet for evening and or lunch varied even if some servers lack smiles.

A very cozy hotel. A very good attention. Perfect cleaning. Spectacular views. The only uncomfortable thing is the works on the streets D access with car, q are under construction, but not a big inconvenience. I recommend it.

The best hotel. The best food and the best view.

Ancient shed, only the sea view makes itself paid and the balcony. Unfortunately, at the beach was just the summer camp of elementary school children, kindergarten. About 400 children at the beach (beginning of July). The beach was not usable. Breakfast was the simplest thing there is. Very little fruit. Watermelon.

Beautiful hotel, the amazing architecture, designer furniture, art, etc. Are stunning. All the staff was superfriendly and nice. However, the food was not so good. I wouldn't recommend booking dinner here. Someone saved a lot of money on the kitchens budget.

For an old hotel I real love it. From the cute rooms to the relaxed areas. The restaurant is lovely and the staff is great.

Great panorama! Beautiful beach, superb terrace. On the other hand, poorly soundproofed, ambiance year 80, no buffet at the restaurant, long table service and unsympathetic when they are men. Not top with little ones.

Very nice staff, good breakfast. The pool and the gardens are great, and it is very nice to be by the pool looking at the ocean. The bar has a 60s look and an amazing view. Overall is was a great experience.

The location is perfect on the beachfront, although something difficult to find the reception due to some works that we found. Furniture somewhat outdated, although the room is spacious and overlooking the sea, and above all very clean. Nice treatment on the part of the reception staff, who also speaks Spanish. The buffet breakfast is also very varied, although it is advisable to go early for a quiet breakfast and have availability. In general, if you take a good deal, great choice at a very affordable price!

The décor is quaint and dated and the food is nothing to write home about, but the view from every room is amazing, the beds are comfortable and the easy access to the beach is a definite plus. All in all the good more than makes up for the bad.

We were 10 days at Hotel do Mar. Liked us very well. It is a beautiful hotel that stairs was built on a mountain. Each room has sea view and in the evening you can fall asleep when the sound of the sea. The rooms are quite large. The Setup is quite old and rather dark. However, the room was always very clean. Even the mattresses, the requirements and the bath were in impeccable condition.
The breakfast buffet is alright. Personally some variety or some vegetables, such as tomatoes and cucumber slices — have missed you. But it's bearable.
The pool floor is approximately In the middle of the hotel and it has a magnificent view directly on the sea.
There was free Wi-Fi, towels and pads around the pool, a parking lot in front of the hotel.
There is a bar in the House — the cocktails are however quite expensive and not as recommended by German standards. The juices in Portugal are extremely sweet, and it was unfortunately also in the taste of the cocktail. But this is a matter of taste. ;) Here very well, you can drink wine and beer.
All in all a very nice and recommended hotel.
Sesimbra itself is a picturesque fish first village near the sea. A small port is not far from the hotel and is definitely worth a visit. There, also, boating and other water activities are offered. You should not miss this if there is. The tours directly at a very friendly provider on site be booked at the reception.

Muito bem localizado, acesso quase direto à praia. Quartos bons, camas confortáveis. Perde pela falta de uma piscina com medidas intermédias exterior. Snack bar também deixa muito a desejar.

Beautifully located resort with views of the Atlantic Ocean and the Bay of Sesimbra. In front of the hotel a large enclosed parking. The hotel terraces built with balconies in all rooms. The rooms are simply furnished and not too big. The hotel is no place for discerning holidaymakers like also Sesimbra, everything is "normal"! The restaurant was very good, especially the daily changing menu. Deliciously fresh fish especially to recommend. Practical of the lift to the beach promenade.
