Superb hotel with seen impressive on the Douro river. We come every year to spend a night in this magnificent establishment.

Beautiful infinity pool overlooking the Douro. Lovely room & hotel staff. Spa was outstanding.

Modern hotel with fabulous views over Douro river. The infinity pool is perfect to get tanned, relax abd have fun taking selfies with the heavenly background of the river. The breakfast is very good and the restaurant has delicious local dishes. Heaven on earth yes it can be!

Fantastic views from all rooms across the Douro, modern, comfortable rooms. Have yet to try the Spa and pools.

The Douro Royal Valley Hotel is located in a pretty quiet village. Ideal if you wanna get a little rest from the big cities. The design is minimalistic, but I was missing a little bit more atmosphere, it was a bit too cold for me. They really need to fix the touchbuttons of the elevator. It might be fancy looking but everybody I spoke to had a problem with it‘s responsiveness. On the 7th floor there is the outdoor and indoor pool. The outdoor pool is a infinity pool. Narrow but at least pretty long so you can swim some laps if you want. The indoor pool is also big enough for some water fitness or just relaxed swimming. The gym was very small, just had like 4-5 machines in it. I was looking forward for a bit biking, but there was only a treadmill for cardio. If you like a minimalistic style and a calm area you will enjoy the hotel. As you can see in my pictures the location is very cool and the views are awesome!

Excellent stay. Relaxing and secure rooms. Restaurant service, local food and ambience very pleasant. Gorgeous spa/pool areas and tremendous views from room, spa and bars.

The experience in this Hotel couldn’t be better. The staff is really nice, the food is awesome and the hotel is very well situated. We love to spend time in hotels along Rio Douro, and this one is our favourite.

Amazing view of the Valley, beautiful, quiet, restful. Clean, modern, comfortable and spacious room. Restaurant not bad but can do better. Restricted card if several days on site. The dishes are lacking a bit of purpose at times. (Too salty, too heavy in the stomach…)

Rooms could be better specially the bathroom that doesn't include bath tub but the view to the river is amazing from balcony and also pool.

Amazing hotel and location. Spectacular outdoor pool.

The hotel is situated next to the duoro River in the beautiful duoro valley. Sadly the hotel itself is not beautiful, but a big block of concrete. The rooms are big, nice and clean. However on the second morning the water was not getting hot. The spa has an outdoor and an indoor pool. Walking to the spa from the rooms in the fifth floor takes about 10 minutes. You have to take different elevators and to walk a few meters. The hotel is new, but a lot of the rooms and places look just empty and you feel like something is missing. The breakfast was very good. The restaurant is ok, the prices are high, the portions tiny. Most of all the hotel lacks professional personal. The staff in the restaurant and spa is not very attentive. One of the restaurant managers was just rude when we were dining one evening.

To rest there is no better.

Very stylish and clean Hotel in the Douro Valley. Probably the best Infinity Pool in the region with an astonishing view. Rooms/Suites are spacious and also in clean Design. Spa treatments can be recommended and the food is delicious. Not to miss if you want to dive into the Douro region.

The main reason to come here is the view and it's breathtaking! The rooms are also very nice, friendly staff and a really great restaurant with good prices. I highly recommend this hotel. And oh, did I mention the view…? ;)

Spectacular views. Very good restaurant. Luxury facilities.

Hotel is fantastic. I love it. But… The Restaurant took too long (1, 5 hours) to serve the diner for two and was not full. The codfish was good but very cold. And the the bill had one item w price 14€ when the correct was 6€. No more comments. ; — (

Excellence in the details.

Stay was fine nothing special, hotel has spectacular view its quite place, down town is far away its nice to stay in if your taking a road trip. Spa wasn't that good, looked professional but staff aren't, compared to the other spa's I went to.

Exceptional place. We had booked 3 nights and extended our stay. Great service, amazing scenery, top level services (pool, spa, tennis, kids club, bar, snack, restaurant…).

Nice room. Horrible Service. Women at reception said it would be a 30 euro taxi ride turned out to be 105 euro then she blamed me for not confirming with her about the taxi even tho they said everything was ready and no kidding if the hotel is booked that the person is coming! Shocking! never coming back! Terrible customer service and doesn't even consider about customer just cares about the money in your pocket, thats the 1st day. 2nd day breakfast was below average at best. We left for a walk and when we came back we had to wait 10 minutes for someone to open the door to get into the hotel.

The restaurant is a great. The view is to die for. Great service.
