Bongo Bongo Divers Hotel

I spend a month at Bongo Bongo and I loved how you get to become a part of their “family”. Every day you meet so many nice people both other travelers and locals from the area who are all stopping by Bongo Bongo. Everyone is so nice and friendly and you will for sure never feel alone in that place. No doubt that I will be back again!

For the ones who have no time for reading this comment all the way through, I will jus say one thing: don't second guess and go to Bongo Bongo. It will be one of your best experience in the Philippines whether you are a diver or not! They are simply awesome! We traveled for almost 5 months in South East Asia. We were told of the awesome diving in Dauin and Apo Island through a friend we met along the way. We ran into Bongo Bongo Divers because all the places within our backpacker's budget were full and what a surprise when we came in and we saw what this place is! The accommodation is absolutely fantastic with bamboo huts, some with and some without A/C (but very good fans), with the best beds we had without a doubt in the whole of South East Asia. Location is prime with 2 minute walk from the dark sand beach with stunning sunsets, the local beach dive spots, and 5 minute walk from (downtown) Dauin and it's small shops and market! Another absolutely highlight and the best of it is its staff: they are all simply fantastic and extremely helpful and flexible to make your experience in Dauin the best! We felt so cosy at Bongo Bongo that after leaving them to explore more of the Visayas, we came back to spend our last week traveling there. They will engage with you, involve you in the after diving drinks in the dining area and just hang out and talk about everything and anything… just like good old friends!

Awesome and beautiful place! Staff was really nice, they're a real family and make you feel at home :) the PADI open water course is done by a professional who's also a super nice guy (shoutout to you Anthony.

Bongo Bongo is simply the best. Magnus and Co. Have thought of everything and provide hands down the most relaxed and lovely home away from home. They will truly accommodate almost any request you have and will show you a wonderful time diving in Dauin and Apo Island. Instructors and DM's are top notch. No matter how long you plan to stay, make sure your travel plans are flexible because you won't be able to leave (at least not on the first try).

Spent 3 months at bongo bongo and went from never having dived before to a dive master it was an amazing experience and all the people were lovely I will definatly be going back.

This diving haven is just a few minutes away from the shore. Very cozy place, friendly staff (shout out to owners Magnus, Shayn, Amado & Ethel, also to our diver friends Marvin, Alfred, Mico, Anthony and alot more! ). Indeed a real Bohemian experience in the outskirts of town. Crisp diving facilities and world class skills for very reasonable and affordable prices. And after we dive, we go chill. The environment is perfect for people who would want to rest, relax, make friends, share experiences and travel advises. All in all, I would rate this diveshop 10 stars but TripAdvisor has only 5. Thank you Bongo bongo for the warmth! Diving made better by genuine friendships and tender care of those who are around you. Bongo Bongo is your home away from home!

Bongo Bongo is one of the most cozy diveshops I have ever stayed at. The rooms are super cool bamboo bungalows. Clean and roomy. The staff is friendly and makes sure the atmosphere is at its best. Love the lounge/beanbag/hammock area too. And they recently got a fuss ball table. Pretty nice! Biggest recommendation from me! Oh and the living is surprisingly high class too :-) top dollar!

Bongo2 is my home away from home. The whole Bongo crew is an extended family away from home and a chill place where you can unwind and destress from your bustling city life. The diving is awesome with a lot of critters and other marine life from the house reef to the different dive sites you can choose from and just a 45min boat ride is Apo Island with its resident turtles to entertain you with lush corals to mesmerize your visual cravings.

What a nice place! We did not stay at this hostel, but came by for a diving trip to Apo Island. Even though we were not staying there, we were very welcome to hang out and get some drinks. The staff was very helpful and the diving trip to Apo was fantastic. It is also the cheapest option to dive at Apo in Dauin! If you want to stay or dive in Dauin, look nu further, go here!

This place and the people who work there has a very special wipe… it is a unique low key place… very affordable prices both for living and diving … instructress from all over the world very cool people I took both my Open water… advanced… And nitrox there 2years ago… Just came back and it is still awesome.

Very nice place to go diving or hanging out. Food can be ordered and is brought. Diving sites are quite nice and the staff is super friendly.
