Magic Oceans Dive Resort

This was my first time ever in the Philippines and I love it! Magic Oceans Dive Resort was great! All the staff were so friendly, knowledgeable and professional. Management socialized with the guests. The bungalows were clean a very nice! The food was great as well but I would’ve like more seafood. The location of the resort was wonderful! It was in a quiet area. They also have great excursions as well. I do suggest doing one or more excursions. The diving there was amazing! The dive guides are great especially Larry and JR. If you are looking for a place to dive in the Philippines look no more further! This is your place!

Fantastic dive resort with great service from all corners. It may be a bit of a drive from Tagbilaran, but you get your value out of that with the location.
The diving around the resort is high quality and consists of muck as well as wall dives, with helpful and knowledgeable dive guides. My cousin is a photographer, and while he was dialing in some new equipment, they assigned a dive guide specifically for him which was very nice. It's important to keep in mind that the number of customers at the resort at any one time may not always make be feasible, but it's nice that when they can, they do.
The food is high quality, with a daily special and a standard menu if you don't want the special. I recommend the Sotanghan soup, a delicious Filipino soup with rice noodles and various bits of seafood.
The town of Anda is a 15-minute ride away and is a fun local destination with cool activities to do on rest days from diving (if you are so inclined). These include the market, some nightly pickleball, and a limestone cave attraction. Ask the staff for details, because depending on what day you're there, the town may have an event ongoing like a farmer's market. Most, if not all, of them live in Anda.
The island of Bohol has several land-based attractions that you can go see — the staff will set up the tour for you!

Great diving. The resort is in great shape with a wonderful, clean pool and the staff are well trained, extremely courteous and conscientious. The food and drinks are really well done. If you want to go to the beach there is one about 20 minutes away.

Despite two typhoons our stay at Magic Oceans was an unprecedented one!
Although the big stuff, besides lots of turtles, is missing during the diving, the diversity of small stuff is a big reward. In combination with beautiful coral gardens in a relaxed diving setting with very experienced, pleasant and supportive staff and a resort with good food and very pleasant staff made our trip one to remember!
We can recommend this resort to any diver!

Such a beautiful quiet spot for divers. Staff are friendly and efficient. Diving is great. Something for everyone. The manager does a great job and is social with all guests. The meals included are beautifully presented and a great array of cuisine with local flavours. The chefs certainly complement this resort. Felt very at home and relaxed. More European guests which is a nice change and great conversation around the bar or dining tables in the afternoons.

Just spent seven wonderful days at Magic Oceans Dive Resort, and I got in 17 Nitrox incredible dives. The dive operation and guides really hustled, and I photographed some amazing critters like Mimic Octopus, Pygmy Seahorse, Ghost Pipefish. The resort has a tropical vibe and quiet/relaxing atmosphere. The staff was very responsive, the rooms were spacious and the WI-FI worked well. The food was great — they made special dishes like BIKO and Kinilaw at our request, we did 2 couples massage, went on side excursions at Chocolate Hills, and Tarsier Monkey Sanctuary. The bar staff was excellent, had a special sunset cruise followed by a roast pig dinner with live music and dancing — we had a great time, even the weather was great all week and this was supposed to be the rainy season.

What an amazing resort. Quite quaint and great diving. Friendly staff. From the minute you land in Cebu they are waiting for you to take you to the resort. They treat you like family A must visit resort!

As the name already imply it is a dive resort, so it is a really good option for people that scuba dive, but if you are not a diver, the options are limited as there is no much to do by yourself there. The rooms are big, the restaurant have a good variety of options in the menu to be chosen, the dive center has a good space to organize, handle and wash our equipments.
They have 3 boats and good space there. The crew are very kind and always ready to support to jump it the water and return. The resort has a really good spot to dive just in from of there allowing a shore dive, and the places we go by boat in average takes 15 minutes only.
The resort offers an internet connection that works fine for the most of tasks, but depends on the usage might not be flawless. As the resort is locate a little bit far from the closet village, bring everything you need, mainly your medicines and pharmacy stuffs. There is almost nothing you can do a walk distance from the hotel.

Scuba Paradise, Wonderful vacation.
From the time we got out of the van the personal treatment was extraordinary.
The staff was fantastic, they treated us like family members. They knew our names and the likes and dislikes for meals. The experience of being catered to on the boat, in the Dive Center, during the Dives, in the bar and the restaurant was exemplary. The room was modern and spacious and well suited for two bachelors to stay. The meals were served country style and their variety and selection of meals was great. Tried the chocolate shake with a little Bailey's it's too die for.

Amazing experience. Hotel and dive staff were great, ensuring we had a great time. Scuba operation is super well organized, safe and clean steps away from boat and bungalows. Full board was great with options to accommodate taste and preferences. Nothing fancy, but very good food.

Excellent small scale resort. Well organised, friendly personell that will do anything to make your stay unforgettable. We stayed her for 2 weeks, made 31 dives and we felt sad that we had to leave. The variations between the sand/muck diving and the wall diving is great.
Will return for sure.

We had the most excellent dive trip to magic oceans. The dives were over the top amazing. The staff was so nice and accommodating. The resort was clean and beautiful. The food was excellent. We can’t say enough good things about this place. We didn’t want to leave, they made us feel right at home. My favorite part was coral gardens. Breathtaking diving, you just want to stay down forever.

We spent 2 weeks at Magic Oceans dive resort in February 2025. We had been there 2 previous times in April 2019 and April 2022. The diving is fantastic. Warm water with interesting critters and varied fishes on coral-filled walls, or sandy slopes and muck dives all within 5-40 minutes of the resort. We found frogfish and turtles on the house reef and Mandarin fish night dives were right in front of the resort too! Obviously, as repeat guests, we love the resort itself: accommodations, food, staff, facilities. We have stayed in 3 different bungalows (there are 16). All have AC and are comfortable and big enough to spread out the gear. Dining and bar areas are both open air to allow guests to enjoy the wonderful Philippine climate. The kitchen staff are very welcoming and as a non-dairy vegetarian were able to provide a wide array of dishes to my liking. We stayed on the full board program and the food was plentiful and delicious. The entire resort staff, even the gardeners, always had a smile and a nod for the guests. This makes for a very happy, warm, family-type feel to the entire property. The dive centre is large and well organized. There are 3 different dive boats that we saw. Over our 3 trips there we have dived from both Magic Oceans 1 and 3 and they are roomy and comfortable, even in rough seas. Both boats use a stride water-entry and a lovely easy-to-climb set of stairs for exiting the water.

Simply put — this was the best ever Philippines experience that we have ever had! The resort is first class, the people are excellent, being friendly, kind and always giving you their best. The food is amazing and all tastes are catered for, as for the accommodation it is so comfortable, welcoming and so well maintained, it's like a home from home. Ok so getting to the core of the trip — the diving! I have never been in a better place with better diving, it has so many wow moments, it is truly incredible. If you want a superb Philippines holiday with brilliant diving then look no further.

Magic truly surrounds this resort! Situated in a secluded private area, it serves as the perfect diving hideaway. Every detail on the dive boat and at the dive center is meticulously planned. The guides are adept at spotting even the most concealed treasures in the area.
On land, the restaurant offers a diverse selection of European and Asian specialties. Service is both personal and professionally friendly; everyone remembers your name and knows your usual preferences.
The rooms are spacious and equipped with efficient air conditioning, ensuring a comfortable environment.
Overall, my aunt and I thoroughly enjoyed our vacation. The diving was absolutely incredible, with our hotel’s boat often being the only one at the dive site. The hotel staff made us feel right at home.
We will definitely recommend this place to our friends and look forward to returning!

We had an amazing time at Magic Oceans. The resort is in a beautiful, remote part of Bohol. The owners and staff are incredibly hardworking and friendly. They really went above and beyond to see us through our PADI diving course — offering 1:1 classes so that I could master the tricker skills rather than have me drop out of the course (particular thanks to Larry and Jamie! ).
The bar is well stocked — a lovely spot to sit and chat with the staff and other guests about life and the day’s dives — and the restaurant has lots of really tasty, veggie options.
The reception team were great and helped us arrange a hire car and a trike on days that we wanted to explore the island outside of the resort.
We couldn’t fault the service at all — would definitely recommend the resort for anyone looking to learn to dive, experienced divers or anyone trying to escape the constant karaoke noises of the Philippines …
The only thing to be aware of is that it can be quite tricky getting cash out using foreign cards on Bohol, and as there is a 5% charge on credit card payments (though the resort will take some other currencies if you don’t have pesos), you might just want to get out enough cash for your stay in advance.

A beautiful resort, stunning location, delicious food, attentive and kind staff, and amazing diving. We would 100% return one day.
