Pukara House

Horrible hotel. So cold, staff won’t turn on heat until 6 pm. Breakfast is non-existent. Some fruit and bread with a small avocado and that’s it. The worst part was that our sheets were dirty — there was a skid mark on them! Don’t understand why G adventures continue to put us in such crap hotels.

The location is good. Although dated, the rooms was decent and very clean. The bed was extremely comfortable and good blankets to keep me earm Bathroom was good and there was plenty of hot water. Where the hotel fails terribly is customer care/relations. The last evening I accidentally spilt a cup of hot tea. The cup immediately smashed and hot tea everywhere. Laduvon reception saw it happen and her first words were "You pay for that". It was then that I realized this is a hotel without warmth or a heart! I'd NEVER stay here again, and certainly would NOT recommend it. (Oh and on the first night a girl had her laptop and money stolen from her locked room! BE CAREFUL HERE! )

Room – Very cold, with heating available only four hours per day. Poor cleaning standards and an unpleasant odor.
Staff – Unhelpful and unfriendly. They provide misleading information, for example promising heating throughout the night but turning it off in the evening. Communication is poor and interactions often feel rude.
Breakfast – 1/5. Low quality and not enjoyable.
Lobby – Cold and unwelcoming.
Location – Unfavorable, with the surrounding street in poor condition and an unpleasant smell.

Very cold and humid in winter. Heating available in rooms from 6pm to midnight? only. Mornings were freezing getting out of bed. Very very cold eating area and lobby. Although there’s a fireplace and heater in lobby next to eating area, they were not on. We had to eat breakfast dressed like we were outside in 5C weather. I’m Canadian and found it very cold. Staff was amazing (always all bundled up cause of the cold too)

Stayed here for two nights during our GAdventures tour. The rooms were clean and cozy (especially after climbing the stairs when at nearly 4000m altitude for the first time! ). Nice bathroom and great shower. Breakfast was tasty and the staff was very attentive to get you freshly cooked eggs if you wanted them.

We had a lovely stay in Pukara house. We arrived at 5 am with our bus. After ringing the door we were let in directly. We even booked a tour to the Titilaka Islands in the middle of the night with them as we only had one day.
Our room was cozy and clean. It even had a wall heater.
The breakfast was really good. The selection was just huge. Toast, buns, cereal, marmelade, cheese, avocado, 3 juices and more …

The location is quite central, 5 minutes walk to the square. The hotel is good, the room is large, there is a large bathroom, there is hot water and the pressure is great. There is even a heater, which is definitely a plus, nights in Puno are cold. You just need to tell the woman at the reception to turn on the switch. Then the heater will work. Parking 7 sol, some kind of private yard, you need to call through the reception. A caveat: it’s not really possible to stay at the hotel if you’re by car. The traffic in Puno is hellish, and the streets are narrow, just enough for one car. Therefore, if there is a place 100-150 meters from the hotel, then park your car there and go to the hotel to find out where the parking is.
It’s a rare case in Peru when the reception staff is not pleasant: she was counting the dollar at a very inflated rate, trying to persistently sell a tour of Titicaca, arguing that all the agencies on the street were already closed (no, they weren’t closed, they were open until 21:00). In the morning there was another woman — much nicer.

Breakfast is the typical bread, cheese, sliced meat, and fruit but the organization and service is much better. Staff are prompt to offer you an egg and the tables were kept clear. You have to ring the bell to get into the hotel, but staff are quick to let you in. The rooms are comfortable, and the Wi-Fi was sufficient for streaming. Good rooms and good service.

I had a great three night stay here. The ladies who work at the hotel are super friendly and helpful, they even assisted with organising a day tour at a good price. Rooms are very clean. I didn't find the temperature too bad in the room, there is an extra blanket which is more than sufficient. Showers are hot and the breakfast was probably the best that I have had at this price point. They have ham, avocado, cheese, bread, cereals and fruit along with hot and cold beverages. I would definitely stay here again next time I'm in Puno.

Stayed on a g adventures trip to Lake Titicaca and it’s not too bad. Nothing amazing but acceptable. The rooms were quite warm and the windows opened but could be accessed from the outside. The hotel is basic, as was the breakfast but provided clean rooms and clean bathrooms.

Plain, small hotel on a small busy street.
We stayed in room 209.
Quite an old hotel which needs some upgrading. The hotel had Wi-Fi, warm showers and was within walking distance of the restaurants and square.
We were in room 209 which was quite quiet.

Everything was clean and the bedding was very warm. The heater only turned on after 6 PM, so it was chilly until then (we visited in July). This was a nice place to stay before heading to the lake on the real adventure!

Clean room but hard to get hot water and electronic connections non functionning with european connectors.
