Colonial Plaza Hotel

Old style hotel. Very clean and friendly and helpful staff. Heater in room so cold not a problem. Conveniently located in the old town centre walking distance from bars and restaurants. Adequate Peruvian breakfast included. Rooms are situated with windows facing a central atrium so noise from early risers can be a little disturbing for those who want to lie in. Staff happy to assist with arranging tours etc. Overall this hotel was excellent value and we were well pleased with our stay.

Nice hotel close to the center of Puno. We had a lovely room facing the courtyard. We had a hard time operating the shower, but manager came by and help with an attitude.

Used this hotel as part of a group tour.
Room — shower taps had the choice of scalding hot or scalding hot. Had to call the front desk to assist and fix the shower. 2 days later I returned after another tour and was given the same room. Same issue occurred and I wasn’t able to shower, as nobody was available to assist at 4:30am (we had a 5:15am departure time). Shouldn’t have to contact the front desk every time I need to shower.
Room was not cleaned in between the days. Floor was dirty and bed was dusty. I think the only cleaning they do is empty the bins and exchange towels.
Breakfast — horrible. Bread was stale and we had to request more, which some was still stale. Hotel staff advised me there would be vegan options. Soy milk in a can was inedible, and avocado was inedible (black strips and spots through all of it). Advised by others in the group that the other options were equally terrible. Boxed breakfast was fruit only; wish they would have made me a sandwich like everyone else.
Would NOT stay here again.

Central location across from the church. Local Dancers outside the church at night. Money exchanges restaurants and main shopping streets all 1 minute walk away from Hotel. Lovely buffet style breakfast.

We stayed during an overnight stay in Puno. After a very long day traveling from Cusco, we were dropped off at this hotel. They do not have elevators and wouldn't accommodate my husband and I on a lower floor (we both have mobility issues along with the altitude adjustment. ) They also do not have small refrigerators in the rooms or access to ice for keeping my insulin cold.
The breakfast " buffet " was minimal and what should have been hot, wasn't.
I was certainly glad that we only spent one night.

During these days I was staying at said hotel on vacation with my wife and the agency made the reservation for us. Upon arrival the service was very poor, the bathrooms in the main dining room were dirty. The general appearance of the room was very poor in addition the room had a bad smell. The bathroom in the room also had a bad smell and had dirt in the shower as well as the channel of the shower curtain, which was also broken.

We had a lovely stay in the Colonial Plaza hotel but the main stand out was the staff. The manager went above and beyond. There was a mix up and they did not have a room for our second night. So, the manager booked us a room at a different hotel, helped us with our bags there, we were leaving too early so would miss breakfast so he hand delivered a prepacked breakfast for us! We were very impressed with the service overall.
The rooms in the Colonial Plaza hotel were spacious and tidy. Only comment was most of the rooms overlooked the courtyard where reception is, this meant a lot of noise at night as you could hear phone ringings and guested arriving in late.

Excellent attention very attentive and helpful.

Well located, very cozy, friendly environments and attentive staff 100% recommended.

Cozy good breakfast and quiet and very well located.

Breakfast at the room. Awesome.
