Libertad Jungle Lodge was amazing. I spent a long time researching different lodges near Iquitos and am thrilled to have found Libertad. First off, the pricing is very competitive. Second, you get your own tour guide and boat driver, versus at other lodges it seemed you were normally stuck with a large group. With having your own tour guide, you get to pick what you do each day and have full control of the schedule. We did most of the excursions and I was surprised at how each one turned into a great experience. Thirdly, they take wonderful care of you. We were picked up at the airport, taken care of the whole time we were there, and dropped off at our hostel in Iquitos, all without having to pay any additional money. The food was my favorite I had in Peru. Fruit and a different fruit juice at every meal. Though, I might suggest bringing a few snacks. Lastly, Libertad is run in conjunction with the village next to the lodge so your money is going to helping those people. One word of warning, you are going to the Amazon jungle. It was hot and humid, there were mosquitoes, and the showers are cold, even considering how hot it is. Take more mosquito repellent and sunscreen than you think you'll need. But if you are looking to experience the Amazon and love adventure these should be minor issues to you. I highly recommend Libertad for an Amazon jungle excursion. Shout out to May and Mario for being exceptional guides. We had a blast!

We would highly recommend Libertad to anyone wanting to visited the Amazon. There are simply no words to describe what an amazing time we had! From booking with oli, airport to lodge and back, everything was seamless. You have a private guide (ours was Larry — what a legend! ) who looks after you from the second you land in Iquitos. We stayed for 4 nights and fitted in everything we wanted — sloths, monkeys, amazing birds, massive lilly pads, visiting the community, seeing the sunrise etc etc, but wished we'd stayed longer. It was that stunning. The food is incredible — you won't go hungry! And they've totally nailed the balance of relaxing vs exploring. They give you wellies for walking in the jungle, so as long as you have a long sleeve top and long trousers (plus bug spray) you should be fine! We can't thank Larry and everyone at Libertad enough.
