Nice location next to Mathallen and close to both buses and trams. Delicious breakfast with a great selection of items. Friendly staff. But it is definitely not valued for money as the rooms are quite simple with no fridge/minibar, coffee maker or basic amenities in the bathroom. The restaurant was closed for the summer, but they did serve overprized small pizzas and you have to serve yourselves as the staff didn't care about you and served the pizzas in a pizza box even though we sat down to eat!

Nice hotel of the Scandic chain. Located at walking distance from Mathallen and the Akerselva. Boasting a delicious complimentary (free) breakfast. Personally I think this one is more business like hotel but it is cosy and a serene atmosphere. Nice conference facilities for small and medium sized businesses. The service is great.

If I'd have to choose two words to sum up my stay at Scandic they would be enjoyable and fun! What I appreciate the most about boutique hotels is that usually, they have some awesomeness. Scandic Vulkan isn't an exception when it comes to that. From interiors to the service, everything has a really unique character and a cool vibe. Located in Vulkan, one of Oslo's most hip city developments the hotel represents the Nordic design and minimalist style like no other in the area. … During my stay, I was welcomed by a very friendly staff who arranged a special room with stunning city views on the top floor. I enjoyed myself a lot there while sipping a glass of prosecco and watching the sunset, which believes me, it doesn't kick in before 11 pm. I was literally just a few steps away from many interesting hot spots such as Bar and Rooftop Vulkan, as well as street-food stalls, energetic and alternative restaurants and coffee shops and eye-catching canal walks and street art. Food has played a really special role during my stay at Scandic Vulkan! I fell in love with their breakfast. I'm telling you, you'll never go wrong when having breakfast in a boutique hotel. It's always super chill and laid back and you'll find yourself surrounded by a cool bunch of people. I had the most delicious salmon gravlax accompanied by scrambled eggs and freshly made nordic pancakes, their restaurant also offers a gluten and a dairy free section for intolerants. Simply smart and yummy!

Good sized room, well maintained, clean and very functional. A good breakfast complete the pleasant stay. Location is not a central as some of the other Scandic hotels, by public transport into the city centre is quite easy.

Nice, comfy hotel with modern, stylish rooms, free Wi-Fi, located in a pretty cool area with several decent eateries nearby, a nice park and a short, inexpensive bus ride from the city centre. Excellent breakfasts!

Nice hôtel, in a great neighborhood, minor finding : some nightclubs around the corner can be a real pain for a good sleep.

Excellent and well located hotel to visit Oslo, with a different decor, modern and daring, each of the doors are decorated with a different illustration.
The design of the rooms is noticed in all the details, comfortable and perfectly conditioned with all the services.
The staff is very friendly and the area where you are located has options to eat, take a walk to Rio or have a beer.

It’s just ok hotel not so good and not so bad just so so. No standard toiletries provided only shampoo, body wash and hand soap. Location is good, you can catch a bus to the city center just only 3 stops. Room small. Bed was ok but the pillow suck! Need to change it. Cleanliness was good. Breakfast was fantastic! Variety of selection.

Hip hotel in an interesting neighborhood. Rooms are typical Scandinavian and very comfortable. Great dining opportunities behind the hotel at Mathallen. Nice trails along the Akerselva.

Fantastic value hotel within a 10/15 minute walk into the centre of Oslo. Rooms are spacious and clean with incredibly comfy beds. Staff friendly, free Wi-Fi and a great breakfast with lots of choice.

Breakfast is Scandic standard always good. And outside the Vulcan area is extraordinary! I have been living in two different rooms here and both were way to cold and could not get the temperature higher — that’s the loss of star.

Heating System didn't work. Froze all night. Turned out they knew before as there was a central problem with whole hotel system. Temporary heater they brought up also didn't work. Asked for manager but he/she was at home,,,,,, tucked up in a warm bed no doubt. Street noise is also bad EVEN THOUGH I asked for a quiet room. Looks nice but experience is worst from my 130 hotel nights per year.

Very nice European hotel comoared to others. Great room and shower. The only reason I have four stars is the location for tourists and lack of things to do in the area. There is a great food court in the back of the hotel though.

Very tasty breakfast! Room was small, but nicely finished. Bed was soft.

We got a strange, hospital-like room (complete with handicap toilet railing, emergency alarm buttons, seat in the shower and adjustable beds with rollers), with no cupboards, drawers, refrigerator or kettle/coffee/tea, and the beds/covers were pretty dusty. If we had been more than one night, this would be a big no-no. Other than that, nice location and views.

Nice hotel. Everything was wonderful, this trip will be forever in my life. Now Oslo is my favorite city. I like their culture, people are friendly, there is no aggression and drunken people. They appreciate and accept any religion, it is a perfect place for any person. Walking around the streets is nice, clean everywhere. The main business card of this city-building, they are all different, and each stands out for its unique design, which can be seen only in Oslo.

Love this hotel. Walking distance to all the bars and restaurants in the Grunerlokka neighborhood and is located across from Mathallen. The beds were very comfortable, staff friendly, and free AMAZING breakfast.

In the basement of the hotel a super market where I could try smoked whale and a variety of products so there is how great beers. The prices are not to scare in Oslo, we must find some that do.

Clean and modern hotels, good shower, East access to the city centre either by a 20 minute walk or one of two buses. Music from the plaza below can keep you awake but as I heavy sleeper it hasnt bothered me. Oh and a good breakfast.
