Clean, great location, friendly staf.

I stayed here 3 nights a week for 2 years whilst commuting from the UK for work. Comfortable and spotlessly clean hotel with a great breakfast.

I had two computers STOLEN at the hotel.
I arrived at the hotel before my room was ready. The receptionist told me to leave my luggage inside a ''luggage storage'' where clients put their bags. They gave me stickers with numbers to mark my luggage and unlocked the door. I left my luggage inside and when I came back, one of my luggages was opened and two laptops I had inside were stolen. The reaction of the receptionist was to deny responsibility completely. The luggage storage had NO security camera inside.
Essentially, the receptionists unlock the door to all clients, but they don't check that the clients take ONLY their bags and that they don't start opening bags that don't belong to them. I decided to talk with someone responsible. A lady arrived. When I asked her why there was no camera inside the room, she said : "Because if there was a camera inside, then the hotel would be held responsible of any missing items, while now it's the clients responsibility".
When I asked her why didn't they have a guard who checks that clients take their and only THEIR stuff, her reply was: "The hotel doesn't have the budget to hire more guards". The worst thing of all was that even though the laptops were just stolen, I saw the receptionists still telling to the clients to put their bags inside the room, in front of me.

{Highly Recommended} A-Class hostels… Very lively common room. Hostel staff is very cooperative. You get your own private kitchen in every room. Private Washrooms and good environment.

Anker Apartments is doing business in an unattractive way for new visitors/reaidents of Oslo. And also the dorms (sovesal) are shared by 25 or 30 people. Some ofbthe dorms are for both genders (male&female). Not sotuible for females where men sleep. I was witness to a sexual relationship between a man and a female in a dorm. Conclusion: do not rent or stay at anker apartments!

Very small rooms. Very congested rooms. Hardly space to move around. There is tram and bus station in front of the the hotel. Opening the window will result in lot of noise and closing will kill you with heat. The lifts are always busy and will make you wait for 10 mins. Minimum. On the day of the checkout the cleaners opened doors three times asking if we are out. Possible suitable for solo travelers not meant for families with kids.

The overall experience was alright, the beds were comfy. Nothing special. It was a bit pricey since you had too purchase the bed linen and towels.

The sockets weren't in the most convenient location for all the beds. Stayed in an all girls 8 person dorm and the atmosphere was quite nice. I think overall it was comfortable enough and I think it is one of the cheaper options in Oslo. The location is convenient and within walking distance of the city with the tram and metro nearby. Our sink was a little clogged for a day or two and had to use the kitchen sink (also in the room).

I'm traveling through northern Europe and this hostel was by far the worst of all. Sure, it may be the best deal for Oslo pricewise, but if I could chose again, I wouldn't go to Anker. The atmosphere is highly unfriendly, my room (that I shared with 16 other people) was dark and the staff wasn't really helpful. Would NOT recommend.

Very far off, and not too well connected. The room was dirty — not only the bed and the floor, but actually even the trash from the previous guest was still in the bin. I had a private single room and it was also rather noisy and very expensive, compared to other hotels in Oslo and taking into account the standard of cleanliness, quality and friendliness of staff. The second star is for the 24/7 supermarket that is right next to it and which comes in very handy.

It feels just a bit unpersonal, we got there by motorcycle and they couldn't tell us where we could park it and we just had to figure it out. I can't imagine we are the first bikers to ask that question. Beds are good and kitchen is fine. Don't forget to checkout the 11th floor, it has rooftop access with a great view.

There is no utensils in the room, otherwise a regular hostel.

Great place to stay a night or two and explore the city. Public transportation is easily accessible from there and many points of interest are located close by. The dorm rooms are quite big and the beds are comfy. The bathrooms are clean. I can recommend this place for backpackers!

Amazing view from 10th floor, queensized bed, my room was elevated a over the trafficnoice so I didn't find that bothering. Slept like a champ. The breakfast was great. I think the price was very fair compared to the quality of my stay! I'd recommend a stay here!

Within walking distance to the city center and many points of interest. A supermarket just a few steps down the road. Beds were comfy and the room (I slept in an eight bed dorm) provided a kitchen (facilities can be borrowed at the reception), which no-one used but the fridge was good to have. Stuff was friendly and helpful. It was quiet at night, so I could sleep very good. What I didn't like is that they charge an extra fee for the bed lining (I guess this should be surely included) and there were definitely not enough sockets! My bed had none, I guess just very few beds had one near. Also no light at the beds.

In fairness, unusually hot in Oslo so had to have windows open. VERY noisy from trams outside until late at night and starts very early morning (no aircon). Staff friendly and convenient location.

Great staff. Though the rooms are very warm alwith now AC, so you're forced the sleep with the windows open. And a really loud train runs right outside starting at 4:45am.

This hostel is clean and pleasant and centrally located in Oslo. Only an 8 minute walk to the central train station. Hostel rooms are clean and have an ensuite, Wi-Fi is average so don’t expect a strong connection. My only complaint is that you have to pay extra for bed linen, which I have never experienced anywhere else before. So that’s a hidden fee that you don’t notice when booking. Otherwise it’s quite a pleasant hostel in Norway.

Presence of a 24/24 welcome with advice on things to do in town. Joker (grocery store) is next to shopping.

Good value for the money and decent location — about half an hour walk from the Central station. Its quite cheap which I'd say made it worth it, but there were quite some things that weren't great: the bathroom in my room did not have any lock, which is not that nice when sharing a room with 7 strangers. There were also quite some people in the lobby that were not staying at anker apartments, and that sometimes made things feel a little unsafe. Sheets and a towel need to be rented for 70NOK. Although there is access to a kitchen or kitchenette in the various rooms, all equipment must be requested at the reception against a deposit. There was at least a fridge in my room which was nice, as well as a table and some chairs. Lowest price in Oslo when I was staying there, so if that's what you're looking for for then I'd recommend anker apartments, as long as you do not expect anything fancy.

The hostel is not in good conditions. I am used to rent towels, but it is the first time I see you have to pay for renting the bed sheets and the kitchen stuff. It is in general not really clean (we had ants in our room) but it is kind of ok. From our window we could see rats in the back garden everyday. And finally, I have to say that there was people dealing and using drugs in the street next to the hostel (you could see it from the door) ; I know it is a common thing in the city of Oslo in general, but it does not feel safe or good. Price is fair for Oslo.

A very pleasant surprise. Holds a very high standard despite the low price. Would definitly recommend this hotel if you are looking for a cheap hotel for a weekend getaway :)

Typical hostel, six-bedded dorms and shared bathroom. A little bit outdated but overall well kept. Personal available.

In this hostal Anker Apartament we have been twice consecutive victims of money theft. This happened on April 13th and 14th, 2018. We went to the reception of the hostel and have not given any solution, nor Siquier have been directed to the room to ask for explanations to the suspect and not to identify it, having the hotel an individual they call "security" that fulfills functions of Ensure good stay for guests. The only solution they gave us was that we think room.
We go to the police and as always, they did not do anything different to receive the complaint and ask us to think hotel.
We went back to the hotel and again refused to identify the offender, they did not even consider the photos we gave them. The thief was in bunk a-16 while we occupied the bunk a-11 and a-12 all of the same room shared.
We warned the other guests of the presence of the thief in the room and discovered decided to leave the hotel and deliver the bunk.
The hotel did not care, nor the copy of the police report that in writing we gave them, nor the photos of the offender we sent them, nor the complaints and claims presented. They never did anything to ensure the quiet and safe stay of the guests.

Well located kitchen and bathroom in the rooms. Sheet for rent It's shame.

The hostel is pretty good for the price you have. The staff is very friendly and there are always people in reception, 24h.
The room was not well soundproofed to the street, the trams were heard a lot throughout the night.

Among the cheapest that there are in Oslo nothing bad.

Best hostel in town that I could find. Lots of people staying longer term though. Families are certainly welcome. Bar is decent a kitchen is clean. Wi-Fi is just not good though. Good location near the most lively part of town.

Anker Apartment is spacious, beautiful & worth the price. It is a little far from the city center but the direct bus (Ruter Bus no. 30) from Oslo S stops right in front of the hostel. The reception & staff is very friendly & eager to help. Kitchen is spacious, clean & organised. Utensils are clean. Although you have to pay NOK 100 as a deposit but that's a good thing. There is a Joker supermarket just inside the hostel which is very helpful. Facilities are really nice. There are enough washrooms & toilets around the hostel. It's worth the price & cheapest you can find in Oslo.

For its price quite, although normal Wi-Fi in the room was not enough-often had to go to the central room.

Very well located near the centre of Oslo, there are also bus and tram routes just outside. You have to rent them bedding as the cost of the night does not include it. Remember to bring your towel.

Single Hotel Apartment But first of all we were going for the biathlon World Cup.

Look at the address well. The navigator makes you wrong.

We were in OSLO for the Biathlon World Cup. The hotel was especially the place where we could eat and sleep. This is not the ideal hotel but perfect anyway. Good value for money.

The hostel is very good, and is close to the central, but the rooms lack lockers, and electrical connections near the beds.

The staff is really friendly and everyone speaks English! There is free breakfast provided for anyone to take! The rooms are comfortable and its nice to meet other travellers.

One of the cheapest hostels in Oslo.

Silently, you can take a 20-minute bus or a feather from the centre. There is a grocery store in the same building.

The organization is horrible and do not mind at all to the comfort of the customer. The rooms are too full, no one respects the spaces of others and nobody cares. Unfortunately, one of the few things that ruined my stay in Oslo.

Not very clean and away from the Metro but close to the young district of Oslo, you can breathe an Eastern European atmosphere.

5/5 for it's cleanliness, friendly and helpfull staff, reasonable affordable price (for Norway standard), good Wi-Fi connection and well managed facilities. However I would like to give minus one for it's policy which is obligates all visitor to rent the bed linen (if you violate this rule you'll get fined 200 kr, couldn't understand why they didn't include this linen service into the accomodation price). So I suggest for other visitors to bring your own bedsheet, pillow sheet, blanket linen and towel if you don't want to pay extra 70, — kr. But overall the place is really good.

The room is spartan (bed, cupboard, table, chairs) but clean. The bathroom seems to have been re-made. In the kitchen there are two hotplates, otherwise you can borrow a kitchen box on site for a deposit. The staff are nice. The location is great to reach by public transport. Mange Takk.

You get what you pay for. Stayed in a 8-person room, which had 4 bunk beds. You had to bring your own linen and towels, or rent them and put them on yourself. The pillows and duvets had stains, but the apartment seamed clean. There was no breakfast. It was okay to stay here, but when we had to pay for sheets it got just as expensive as better hotels. That and the reputation of the apartment hotel made us choose a different hotel for our next night in Oslo.

Friendly staff that were really helpful. Rooms were very clean, with heated floors in the bathroom. The only thing I didn't like was that my room was near the exit door to the floor so I had the added noise of traffic and the door slamming every time someone came in or out of the floor.

Very nice. It has kitchen in the rooms but has no dishes or cutlery… You must order them at reception and deposit 10 euros. Sheets not included and you must pay 5 euros. Good location.

Despite many guests very organized, clean and quiet.

You have to book and pay for everything, it is not made clear before on the website. Apartments have a kitchen, but you have to buy everything extra pots, cutlery etc. The room was very clean and the breakfast was good.

The staff was very friendly and helpful. I was pleasantly surprised by what I saw. With minuses-in large rooms lives 20 people, and sockets only 6, and not very good location from the main attractions, but by public transport you can drive literally to the corner of the house.

Quite a distance from the train station but staff were friendly, charged a fee to rent bed sheets which was a bit extortionate considering I had already paid twenty pounds to share a room with twenty-nine other people. It's an okay place but I only recommend to solo travellers.

Cheap and cozy hostel. Not a party hostel. Very peaceful and clean. 10 minutes on the bus from Oslo central station.

Overall, my wife and I had a good stay. Very good location. Terrible Wifi in the rooms. Friendly service. Restaurants and Convenience Store close by. Kitchenette in room and utensils can be hired for three hours for a deposit. No microwave in the room, which is a minus. And no toiletries.

If you like to be 24 (! ) People in the same room, tell me. When Thomas Cook sold me the ticket, explained to me that this is a room with 2 bunk beds. I chose to pay more than once again the initial take to stay alone. These are rooms of 1, 4 or 24 pers. Pas2.

Friendly people, but I found the place to be lacking charm. The building looks pretty outdated. The room I was in wasn't too bad but with five people in it it got quite warm, even in the winter. The bathroom was really tiny. There was absolutely no kitchenware in the room, but you can lend it at the reception. I had hoped for there to be at least some glasses, plates and cutlery though.

The hostel is very nice. You have to rent linens and towels. The room equipped with 2 chairs and 2 beds, table, closet and small kitchen with fridge and stove for cooking. You can also use the laundry and the dryer for your clothes — it's cost extra money. The parking on the street in front of the hostel is free from the afternoon till the early morning of the next day. If you are looking to put your car for the whole day the hostel has its own parking — but not a cheep one. The hostel is on the river and very close to shops and restaurants.

Great hostel all in all. The location is ideal as there is a tram stop right outside and is close to local shops and restaurant's. Staff are helpful. A few small comments… The beds could be more comfortable as you can feel the wood slats when you lay down. Also a lock on the bathroom door would be good and the curtains dont block out much light from the streets.

Liked it. A good lobby area and the room was okay. Was however not a fan of the bed linens not being included in the price. Would still recommend them as a suiting hostel.

The price-service ratio seemed somewhat overrated, as being a Hostel charge for the rent of sheets, frets, towels, and other extra services. The price is the lowest in Oslo, but it is still high. It has good location, clean rooms and small but functional bathrooms.

Well equipped, ample space, friendly staff. Only drawback is one toilet in a bathroom together for 8 people dorm which is too tight during peak time, and no public kitchen but just a hob in the room for cooking. Utensils and pan and stuffs like that have to brought from reception. Not so convenient especially for travelers want to save some. Money in Norway.

This place is right in the center of the city and really close to all the clubs and the good places to eat. The staff are really friendly and will go all out to help in any way. They went the extra mile and provided all the information required to spend the 2 days in Oslo.

Clean and fine. Spacious kitchen. Inexpensive. Fast and nice check in and out process. Maybe they could have some form of privacy curtains around the bunk beds thought.

The staff was always available and helpful and friendly. I felt secure because there were lockers I could store my valuables. The lobby area is very nice. It's well decorated, has many outlets, a computer and a foosball table. I found it important to have a good lobby because I wanted to be awake later than my roommates. The only negative things about it were the laundry (which is through a garage and the dryer doesn't work great), and the bathrooms in the rooms. The bathrooms were really tiny compared to the size of the room, and the shower didn't have anything blocking the water from getting on the rest of the floor, so we had to wipe the water off the floor. Other hostels have had better setups for bathrooms, but all in all a great stay!

Located close to city centre. Six bed dorm was large. Staff always on desk. Food and other bars nearby. Negatives: Linen was 50NOK extra which of course meant you had to make your own bed and return the sheets on departure. Plug placement in room was very strange. Shower is more of a wet room and keeps the floor constantly wet.

Located in the area of Grünerlokka. A little bit away from the center. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The rest is filthy. They don't even clean the cupboards. I found underwear on someone else's closet before me. When you lend the kitchen material for the apartment is dirty too and the Nordics among which you put the same sheets.

Location — it is about 20 minutes walk from the center the apartment has bathroom and kitchen although it has no frying pan, pot, plates or cutlery, you should rent in and reception, like the towels and the sheets. The beds are very comfortable and the heating is always on, so it does not pass cold. Value for money I would recommend to 100%

Cheap accommodation in Oslo. Not in the city center. No breakfast. You have to bring your own bedsheets and towels. Otherwise you can use theirs with payment addition. There's a kitchennette in the room. Bring your own kitchen utensils or borrow them. The room is broad. The lobby also spacious and modern. Internet is slowly. Got to lobby to have better connection. There's also a mini market next to lobby. Selling fresh and non-fresh foods.

The location was is quite nice (in walking distance to central station). The room I was in was spacious, but had only few power outlets, so that some people chose to charge their phones in the lobby. The personnel is kind and patient. For the price I had not high expectations and was therefore not disappointed, so I can recommend it, if your goal is only to spend the night.

A cheap, clean and safe hotel, but lacks quite a bit on customer service. Everything more than just the room cost extra, including bedcovers, towels and kitchen utensils. There are no breakfast options available, because the hotel have no restaurant or dining room.

The hostel is good and located right in the middle of the city with access to bus and tram just outside the door. The only thing that I did not like was that you have to pay for the bed linen and towels. They also do not provide any bathroom accessories like hand wash, shampoo, etc. I read the information, so saved the money on the bed linen and towels by bringing my own. The kitchen utensils can be borrowed for 3 hours and is an option. It gives a typical hostel feeling, seems like you are back in hostel.

Bathroom and common kitchen for a dormitory of about 10 people. The sheets are to be paid, or to provide oneself, and they forbid the use of sleeping bags!

The place has sufficient amenities, is close to the heart of the city and managed by friendly staff. The roommates were very friendly and have advice regarding my upcoming travel. It was a uniquely spectacular experience. I highly recommend this place.

Staff was exceptional friendly and helpful. Rooms are wide with plenty of storage, clean and quite. There's a fridge and a bathroom in the room which are great so don't have to share them with the whole hostel. Plus there's a little kitchen in the room which requires you to borrow the equipment like pans, plates and cutlery from the reception in exchange of a deposit. I honestly borrowed a plate and a knife for making some sandwiches and they didn't ask me for any deposit. I really liked this hostel and the staff were always very helpful. The lounge gets quite crowded specially during check-in time, but there's plenty of sofas where to sit and plugs everywhere where to charge your phone. You got then luggage room and lockers where you can store your stuff. Nonetheless there's a bar at the reception which I never used but looked at the prices around it is very cheap. The location is just perfect, there are like three supermarkets around the hostel, bus stop/ tram stop is just across the road or at the corner, and in 10 minutes walking you are at the Central station. I fully recommend this hostel this is a very deal for the price.

Good hostel however the dishes as well as the sheets are for rent at the reception. In addition it is forbidden to sleep in its duvet.

You get what you pay for. I have stayed at many hostels throughout the world and Anker was on par with the others in Europe. Bathrooms were clean, beds were comfy. No kitchen though; they have individual two plate hot plates in each room and you borrow utensils from the front desk. Location is perfect and is close to marts and such. Overall, I would stay here again.

Nice place, they are there to make money that's it. Bring your own sheets because you will be forced to pay 60 Norwegian Krona for it. Looks and feels a bit like a psychiatric facility. It is possible to rent free cooking pots and pans which is nice. There is also a Joker, mix of convenience store and grocery store in the building.

Great hostel, only flaw if you have car not the parking in front even if the sign permits and the hostel girl tells you that there are no problems. This is the flaw, bad information, but otherwise it is very central clean, they charge you the sheets if you haven't brought them and/or towels.

Clean, comfortable and cheap for Oslo… In a good central location, we have a cracking view of the city and breakfast has a wide variety of food. Staff are friendly and helpful. The bar serves the cheapest pints around.

Dorms without individual lockers or individual light. The common kitchen closes from 1pm to 14.30 and then from 10:00 to 6:00. The equipment is for rent of course, nothing on the spot. Apart from two pans for 16 lights…

For the price the hotel OK is.
You will find but expensive parking outdoor or directly at the Park House — Hotel.
There are nice pubs in the immediate vicinity. It is also not far to the tram stop.
The employees are very nice.
The breakfast selection is large, but not drop-dead delicious.

Very basic hostel. Good location in a beautiful city. Could do with ventilation in the bathroom / cooking area as there is no way to get rid of cooking fumes. Very friendly reception, bag storage available on site before check in. Everything you would expect of an inexpensive hostel. We have loved our stay.

Just visited while a friend was checking in. Room looked good and receptionists were nice.

The rooms were clean, and the beds were comfortable as far as a hostel goes. However, this hostel was great for its atmosphere — people are always sitting out in the lounge (mainly because their Wi-Fi is somewhat spotty in the rooms, but fast outside), but there was a friendly atmosphere. Workers were awesome, giving great tips about Oslo and its features, and also looked like they were having a great time. I will definitely stay here again.

Free Wi-Fi. Good connection, enough to talk on Skype. The breakfast was ok, there were so many people and because of that food take some time to be restored. Nice view from the 11th floor. Good location and price.

Great hostel, nice rooms and services. Breakfast is not recommended as it is very limited and not fresh. Heating is quite high in winter, as it is inside the rest of Oslos buildings.

Good location, with the nearest bus stop 30 takes you to the museums, FRAM, Kon-Tiki, etc. And 12 tram will take to the Park Vigeland. You can walk to the train station, Central street, etc. The Ratio quality/price is also good. Tea set in the room no need of poprosit to them. The Breakfast standard. Daily I only offer fruit.

Very cheap for Oslo, it is not a palace but basically well organized.

There's NO hostel atmosphere. Wi-Fi speed is locked at max 230kb so it's impossible to do any work or to download anything. It's a bit of a mix of people 50% travelers an 50% workers.

Stayed here before, great staff, I'd stay here again. No complaints.

Avoid. Didn't have the pleasure of staying at this hostel, in fact, I had found other acommodation and notified Anker Hostel within their cancellation period. They charged me the full amount of a full night's stay despite my cancellation request. I notified my credit card company. Then, upon requesting a refund from them, I was then informed that they had deliberately and erroneously reported my cancellation request as a no-show despite my cancellation email. Cold reception from the staff through email. Not pleased at all with some shady and manipulative business practices which I plan to address further with both the hostel and those responsible.

The installation are not that bad for the price but the attention is awful and the Internet doesn't work at your room, so you have to go to the reception to use the Internet and even there you can't use it normally.

The hostel was great and very close to the train station. But the stuff isn't nice.

Anker is the cheapest hostel in Oslo. (triple room — 840/820 NOK). The room are clean, comfortable and bright.

No towels and bathroom supplies.

Small rooms, unfriendly staff. Parking kosts 230 NOK per day, 15 min walk to the city. Wifi was stable and fast (40MBit/s), breakfast ok.

Close to the central train/bus terminal, so perfect for early and late sojourners passing through Oslo. It's in a slightly dodgy part of the center o' town, but nothing to worry about even at 3 am, in my experience. I stayed in a 6-bed room, and it was all just. Fine. Bathroom is tiny, with the shower space located just a few feet from the toilet. Kitchen is in the room, and you borrow pots/pans from the front.

Booked a double, got a six-bed-dorm for myself instead. Perfect location, streamable Wi-Fi, pantry and 24/7 friendly staff. Free parking between 17-08 just outside the door.

Comfortable, Central and with a great buffet.

Decent hotel for the money you spend. It has free Wi-Fi but very low speed. The rooms are ok but very manimalistic (only the essentials are put in). The staff is very helpful. Breakfast is the same everyday with no dessert of any kind. Besides that, the hotel is good for the money you spend.

Esutve days at Anker hostel and friendliness of the receptionists treatment, room service as technicians of the place was very good. Also I have to say that I knew of two thefts people there hosted, perhaps by the way neglect of victims. Generally very well, excellently located and communicated, give good tourist information and it seems to be the most cheap in Oslo.

Medium-sized hostel, some boring personnel with Wi-Fi, in the Empfangsberich and TV. According to my research it is in Oslo the cheapest (still ca 30 Euro per night in the 8 rooms). Located only 5 minutes from the train station. Not just in a super neighborhood but near a tram stop. You can walk to Oslo but also good. Room clean and well furnished. We had a 8-seater with kitchenette and shower/WC, which have been cleaned every day. Bed linen will also cost extra (60NOK), breakfast: 55 NOK. 1min to the adjacent anchor kitchen. Lavishly but not necessarily to eat themselves sick and this is there quite cheap to do in Norway.
Who wants to sleep cheap and not too high demands, will be there happy.

Good for an economical weekend in Oslo.
