I expect free beer out of this post upon my return, which there will be one. Definitely one of the coolest hostels I've stayed in. My girlfriend and I stayed four nights here to surf and it was awesome. The food is great, the place looks wicked, the pool is incredible, and the people are amazing. It's such a great atmosphere. Andy, Tom and Kat were the best hosts ever. Taking us on booze cruises and forces us to shotgun beers like it was our day jobs. We also had some casual nights hanging out and relaxing having family dinners. It's a 5-10 minute walk to the beach which isn't too shabby, but it isn't beach front if that's what you're expecting. Popoyo is very rural as well. A good thing to know going in is that there is nowhere to take cash out anywhere in Popoyo. It's a 20 minute taxi to the nearest ATM (at the airport). The Mag Rock resturant does take credit card, but won't do cash back. You can get cash back at one place in Popoyo the town itself if you ask around. Might be smart to rent/share a dirtbike with a few people. It's a cheap way to get around easily. Thanks again for having us Ruamoko!

I spent 3 nights at Ruamoko las month and it was one of my best travel experiences ever. The environment is incredibly chill and friendly but they also know how to throw some fantastic parties as well, it’s a really awesome mix. They are located about 5 minutes from the beach which allows easy access too and from but also gives the hostel a bit of a community feel and improves safety as the beach has a lot of traffic. The owners are all great guys as well who are committed to providing a great experience while also remaining professional and friendly. Their bar tab system is a huge plus as you can pay increments rather than be shocked at an insane bill at the end of the stay which happened to me at other places. Would come to Nicaragua again for Ruamoko alone!

This place is great! The staff are awesome, super friendly and do a good job of making you feel welcome. The beds are nice and big and the dorms have two bathrooms in each room which is nice. The beach is just a short stroll from the hostel.

Unbelievable new place. Super convenient to the beach and close to everything in town. Amazing pool and the guys who run it are super accommodating! Upstairs yoga and surf boards to rent. Came down from Texas and will definitely be back! The breeze keeps the temps cool and cozy. If I could give 6 stars I would!

Highly recommend this newly opened retreat. Owners and staff are great. Made to feel at home the moment we arrived. Accommodations are awesome with super clean and comfortable beds, crazy nice pool and great facilities. Food prepared by Izzy was easily some of the best chicken in Nicaragua. I've stayed all over Central America and this has to be one of the best. Definitely looking forward to a return trip. Best of luck Ruamoko crew. Much success headed your way. Cheers!

You should really stay away from this place if you dislike awesome people, tasty beer & food, epic sunsets, good service and/or anything else amazing as you are very likely to be exposed to all those things. Seriously the best hostel, can't wait to go back!
