Lovely cottage but the heater for the room just isnt good enough. Thank goodness for bed/blanket warmers. No frills good location, loylts of eateries nearby. Good Wi-Fi!

Quaint little cottages. Beds are comfortable and rooms are cleans. Has heaters in both bed area and bathroom as well as heated mattress pads.

This was a nice little place to stay not a place that you would stay for a long time we were there for two nights and that was enough they are quite small units they were very clean came with your complimentary tea and coffee and milk well equipped with shampoo and soap. My only negative would be if you're not going to do a proper service in the units don't do a service at all. A part service is quiet offensive. But would stay again.

Excellent accom. — value for money, cottage has all you need — warm, gd shower, bed, tv, Wi-Fi — central, restaurants, touristy activities.

Nice tiny little accommodation in a remote place. Close to the main town.

Location is great. Room is slightly on the older side, but it was clean. Pretty decent considering Franz josef isnt a big town. Wifi at the area slow though.

It's good place. On the day we arrived, the owner organized the guests to see the glowworms in the evening that was really interesting.

Such lovely accommodation, had everything you could want for a cosy stay.

We had a great host who recommended the places for us to visit. Room was clean and nice.

We originally had arranged for a tiny place right next to the mass of campers where the Wi-Fi did not work and it was noisy and exposed. We went back to the office to plead for something better and they sent us here for a nominal amount more. Nice room, quiet location, friendly people. Recommended.

Cottages are well appointed with excellent facilities and within short walking distance from town but set in private bush setting.

Shower wasn't working properly but everything else was good.

Close to town, awesome hiking trails from just off the road, a few steps to the glacier hot pools and a pub around the corner. Cottage had everything you could need, coffee & tea pot, microwave, fridge, indoor & outdoor seating, views, comfort beds, heated blankets, 2 USB charging ports & plenty of electrical outlets…

This is a lovely little. On arrival there were two scones waiting and the room was lovely. It was very quite and warm as toast. We left and it wasn't until we were nearly in greymouth that I remembered I had left two instant kiwi tickets on the spare bed (winning ones). We called the office and there house cleaning staff had already turned them in. This would seldom happen anywhere else. We were blown away. They even said they would post them home for us with no charge. Great little place to stay.

Beautiful little place with a spectacular backdrop. Nice and warm. Cottage number 1 has the best view.

10 Cottages in Franz Josef was a great place to stay, very conveniently located for outdoor activities and for exploring the township. Although the units are furnished plainly, they are very comfortable. Customer service by the staff was unmatched; we were greeted pleasantly, offered recommendations for restaurants and directions to the supermarket, etc. And then upon leaving a precious item behind, the staff was very helpful in returning the item to me, shipping it back to the US since I was not able to return to retrieve it, and staying in constant communication throughout the whole ordeal. Highly recommended for all travelers!

Myself and two friends traveled throughout the South Island of New Zealand and stayed at the 10 Cottages for a couple of nights. It was the perfect place to stay after adventuring all day on the glaciers. The cottages were so cute and fun to stay in, and had a great view. It's great for backpackers too; we did three loads of laundry! It's also fun to be in walking distance of restaurants.

Warm friendly staff member. Mountain view rooms were nice and modern. Room was already warm when we arrived. Will definitely use again.

Quiet location, great view and only 2 minutes easy walk from a very nice restaurant (Alice's). We booked a mountain view cottage and really enjoyed a wine in the evening on the balcony outside our room taking in the view before heading for dinner. Ask the helpful staff how to find the glow worms around the corner from the cottages, a must see in the evening and FREE. The free Wi-Fi with no limit worked very well. If back in NZ we would like to stay again.

Awesome place to stay! These little studio cottages are very clean, modern and livable. Has everything you need with its own kitchenette TV and complimentary Wi-Fi! The price was very reasonable compared to other accommodation in the area! Would highly recommend staying here it was very comfortable and cosy.
