Just wonderful, cant wait to back again. Clean, service was lovely, and it's worth the money.

Best views great staff all over and food was really lovely and fresh. Just loved the experience and our stay we will stay again top floors are well worth the extra $$$ the view of the sea and visiting seals is so lovely. Yep give this a top rated place to stay.

Tv not working. Too much noise from the sea. Never told us about disable bathroom etc. Looked rubbish and was the high prices charged … should check room through first b4 we arrrive.

The bed was very uncomfortable
The noise from the sea and waves were so loud
Kept my awake most of the night the windows needed to be more double glazed
Had breakfast the first morning I was there and he too a 35 minutes to make two poached eggs
My partner who had cereal and toast finished his and had to sit and wait for me
We were the first ones in the restaurant so they can’t say it’s because they were busy

Spent our last night here in Dunedin after travelling North and South Island for three weeks and it was a lovely hotel to finish with. Room was great overlooking the ocean and had dinner in a great Italian restaurant called Esplanade. Lovely hotel and really enjoyed Dunedin.

I chose Hotel St. Clair for a farewell coffee as my friend is moving to Auckland. The view from the windows is breathtaking especially when the sea is roaring and the waves are big like they were yesterday. We were given excellent service. The coffee and cakes we chose were both delicious. Thank you Staff.

Awesome view, really roomy and comfy rooms and a great bar. Coffee and food is so good you should book on arrival.

The views are amazing! The hotel is perfectly positioned on one of the best surfing beaches in New Zealand. The staff are very friendly and efficient. Just a stroll down to cafes and a good gastro pub which does takeaways. Can't fault it!

Whitewater Ocean views! Large comfortable rooms. Clean. Beach across the street. Good restaurant.

We have to day the best food for the Last 10 days in the Southern island. Congratulation to the kitchen also for the fin Service. An old swiss restaurateur.

Great little hotel by the sea. Visiting from Sweden this is our first stop on our tour of the South Island. Our room had a fantastic view of the sea and surf. The friendly and attentive staff made the stay a joy. Can truly recommend it to all.

Nice view! We were lucky to be seated facing the ocean. The wait staff were very helpful and lovely! Food could have been better as the steak was a little bit overcooked. Overall we had a good time!

A very nice place to go for a meal or just dessert and coffee. Or a Wine/Beer. Sea front views.

We really enjoyed our beachfront room. The location is great if you want to be near the beach or just need a general base of operations — but don't expect to be near downtown Dunedin. Overall the whole experience was perfect for our two nights. Parking in their underground garage is a little limited but parking out on the Esplanade is free.

Lovely large rooms with lounge areas and some cooking facilities. Pier 24 is a very good restaurant as well.

The hotel with the best views in Dunedin, overlooking St Clair beach. The top-floor corner room is especially amazing, with views over the entire beach & esplanade, and relaxing sounds of the waves so close throughout the night. Classy & elegant, with one of Dunedin's best restaurants downstairs. Makes for a beautiful romantic getaway.

We love our stay here. The room was spacious and clean, the bed was really comfortable and staff was welcoming and friendly.

Since change of ownership it's gone downhill and I've seen lots of complaints on Facebook.

Had a one night get away surprise from my partner for my birthday, the hotel was amazing. Great water pressure in the shower, bed was really comfortable and the view from the balcony was stunning, even in overcast weather. The brunch menu at the restaurant is fantastic as well My only complaint is that the Eggs Benedict costs $7 extra just to add bacon. Don't get me wrong, my brunch was amazing, but $7 more for bacon is a bit too much, hence the 4 star review.

Fantastic location. We had a room with full sea views with a balconey. The hotel is very modern with all facilities you will need. Very friendly helpfull staff and a superb resturant next door offering breakfast, lunch & dinner which was some of the best food we have eaten in the first two weeks of a four week holiday. A very big thank you to Danielle for making us feel very welcome after a long drive and making us feel at home.

Been to it 3 times. Never liked the service. However, good quality food and nice view.

Great Experience. We stayed here just one night when we came to watch the rugby and escape the ongoing aftershocks in Christchurch. Very comfortable room, great service and the food from Pier 24 was excellent. Prices were very reasonable. We will be staying here again next time we visit Dunedin.

We stayed here for 2 nights in the summer, booked 2 rooms, and was very happy with it. The hotel is brand new, with modern furnishing and equipments equivelent to most 4 or 5 star hotels I have stayed in. The view, although we didn't book the sea view room (just to save some money) but we could still get a fair view of the sea from our balcony. The sea view rooms has perfect view, which is very obvious as you can tell by just looking at them from the outside! The room were clean, tidy, spacious, good lighting and air conditioning, big Sony LCD TV. And the beds were comfortable. There is some parking space in the hotel basement. There is bar and restaurant in the hotel although I didnt dine there I had a look at the inside and the menu, I would think it's a pretty good place to eat and drink if you don't feel like going out. Overall experience was excellent, and the prices were reasonable, good value for money. I would recommend this hotel.
