Great place to stay. Well appointed rooms. Great friendly service.

Stayed here as a Luxury Escapes package and we weren’t disappointed. The staff were welcoming. We had wine and a cheese plate waiting for us. Our room was a junior suite and was lovely and spacious. Breakfast was nice and had a good selection.

Stayed at this place as a consequence of a voucher so didn’t really know what to expect. Wow! It turned out to be amongst the best places I’ve ever stayed. Every aspect of the hotel was perfect but we were particularly impressed by one staff member who made us feel very special. Thanks to everyone at the Hotel Montreal especially Jana! Can’t wait to get back to Christchurch to stay again.

Quaint boutique hotel conveniently located, walking distance to parks, shops, bars and restaurants in centre of Christchurch. Polo themed decor. Spacious rooms with a kitchenette. Extremely friendly staff, and a very personalised approach to hospitality. I was greeted by Vicky — hotel owner (or manager, or both, I’m not too sure.

Such an elegant restaurant to dine at. Really attentitive and professional staff AND the food is delicious!

Fantastic nights stay. Huge big bath and a great shower with two different options. Rain or regular. Heated mirror so no misting up. Very comfy beds and lovely bed linen. I would highly recommend. Staff are very nice and personable. Definately recommend this hotel.

Best customer Service I have experienced for long time. All staff including are very caring and accommodating team. Great location, quite and very nice spacious rooms.

Hotel Montreal was a nice overnight stop in Christchurch. We pulled in around mid-day and grabbed a snack in the Polo themed restaurant before heading out for the afternoon and evening. The room we had was spacious and included a kitchenette. It was very comfortable. We were out early the next morning after a nice breakfast.

The bar is a bit posh, lacking in atmosphere and you get questioned on the way in.

I have eaten many times at The Polo restauarnt, and loved it, but this week I returned and prices had gone up, and less food. Bit disappointing. As easy parking, close to town, friendly staff, shame about the Chef changing the menue and putting the prices up.

This is my favourite place to stay! Every visit I am looked after by the staff and management at a level I have never experienced before. I enter after a 15 hour day and it like coming home.

I recently spent the best part of a week in this amazing Hotel. From the very moment I booked this Hotel for myself and a colleague, the Manager Vicki engaged with us to ensure our business trip would be a comfortable one. Every single staff member excelled as outstanding communicators, the restaurant was 6 star in food quality and wine options. My one bedroom suite was incredibly comfortable considering this was my home away from home for nearly a week. I will return without a doubt… soon.

Came today for a wine and cheese platter, thoroughly disappointing, it was $30 for the platter and received three small slices of cheese and a smidgen of quince paste and honey comb. One of the waitresses acted as though we were an imposition. We won't be coming back, pretentious and over rated.

A good place to rest up in the city centre.

My young Family and I have had a wonderful experience staying here. Andrew and his team took great care in making us feel welcome and so SO comfortable. Will definitely be coming back.

Amazing restaurant, came here twice and the quality was top notch both times. The wide range of tapas is amazing. I especially enjoyed the croquettes. Also the Picada platter was very nice. The Hereford was smooth as silk and the food was served hot, which is unfortunately an exception in most restaurants in Christchurch. For the desert we had the churros which happened to be amazing as well. Very friendly staff. Will definitely come again.

This was the best service we had on our trip in New Zealand. The serving staff were tops. The room was roomy, but the shower was magnifique. I loved the warm floor in the bathroom. It felt like we were guests in someone's personal home. Lots of horse and polo pictures. The check in desk was just a desk, which meant it was accessible as you walked past, which felt personally inclusive. I loved The Montreal. It was also within walking distance from the tourist tram, but not right in the noise of the city.

We stayed here for 3 nights for our wedding in March and could not fault them at all. We had a wonderful experience. The staff went out of their way to help us with all our requests and always with a friendly smile. The room we had was beautiful and the breakfast in the morning is one of the best I have had in a hotel. Totally loved it all.

Excellent food and great setting.

Great establishment. The building has been renovated throughout and looks amazing.
