We stayed in the gorgeous cozy Pod. It was so quiet, the native birds were everywhere and the walks and scenery just amazing. The camp owners were so accommodating and friendly. Nothing was a problem and the kitchen and toilets were spotless. We will be back ❤️

3rd time staying here. Lovely park like surroundings to camp in when you are looking for a short getaway.

Have camped at Ashley Gorge several times and it always been fun and a pleasure to stay. The facilities are well taken cared of by the lovely couple. The nature around is amazing. The pavilion is like a mini museum with great story to tell. Will be back again for sure!

Awesome experience stayed in the pod after camping in tents all the other times highly recommend the pod. Also thanks to sally the owner she is such a lovely helpful lady.

No suitable toilet in dog camping area and prices were to high without suitable amenities close.

We had a lovely stay. Pity the weather was a bit cooler than anticipated and the un-invited sand flies that joined us. Rude.
Facilities are clean and I love the free honey spread and garden veggies. I would love to try the pod next time.

Plenty of room for the motorhome — tons of space unlike some “car parks”.

We are local and today went there for a picnic lunch and an ice cream from the shop. A great place to cool down and relax away from the great Oxford metropolis. Not stayed at the camp but it looks great — tidy and clean.

I visited here in winter, so no one was camping, but there were plenty of facilities etc there. It is a nice place to spend for a picnic etc. The scenery is really nice too.

High mountains covered in bush and the Ashley River which is lovely for swimming. Nearby the Ashley camp ground. Great spot.

Frequent visitor now. Great spot, green with river. Good walks. Showers need a token. Secure gate at night. Kitchen has everything you need. This is picture perfect.

Looks good I haven't stayed here yet but I look forward to staying here shortly.

Cabins getting upgraded. Would have liked a microwave in cabin. Terrible smell just outside in drainage pipes but hosts did everything they could at the time but had to wait until after the weekend to get it fixed properly. Meant we couldn't sit outside as smell was very nausiating.

Great place! Beautiful surroundings and perfect for families. Sheltered and peaceful. The hosts were extra helpful and our stay was delightful. Will be back for sure!

Great place for a picnic. Got a swings and seesaw for the kids, clean toilets, great swimming hole and a nice walking track. Good family outing.

Excellent tent camping for walkers and bicycle tourers with large grassy sites with tree shade. Very clean amenities and helpful owners. Park shop sells a limited range of basic food — bread, canned food, chips, etc.

The toilets here are typical of a New Zealand campground, dirty wet smelly things. The river is nice, but has a noticable quantity of slime on the rocks. There is a swimming hole towards the top of the park. Can't comment on the camping Bay except that they weren't very full when I went.

Lovely quiet spot in another world. Great smimming and nice camp site. Bring sandfly protection. Will come again next summer.

Good tidy campground. Not a massive amount to do in the area but enough to keep the kids happy for a couple of days. Well worth a visit.

Great place to stay for all ages facilities are all kept in good order great atmosphere would recommend to anyone thinking of going camping.

Really nice place. $42/night, powered, 2 people van. You get a free shower token, $1 if you want more then one. Good, fairly clean kitchen and bathroom area. Nice outdoor seating by BBQ. Could do with another BBQ by the kitchen, there was a bit of a wait to use the one. 2 minute walk to the river. Friendly staff.

I have been going to Ashley Gorge many many times for over 50 years and it is still one of my favourite river places in NZ.

Great place to camp and relax, clean swimming River is a bonus.

Great place for young families. Bring a rubber raft and mess around in the river. Facilities and playground are older. There is another playground at the nearby reserve, forest trails, and a new loop walk over the bridge.

Great holiday park just up from the river. Lots of walks and fun playing in the river. We went over show day weekend and it was full with lots of kids and a great community atmosphere.

Great campsite, beautifully location next to river and a 5 minute walk to the gorge. Only complaint was showers cost an additional $1 for 5 minutes, after which the hot water turns off. Also the lights in shower block are timed for 5 minutes, so you can easily end up in the shower in the dark… No tokens, no hot water and in the dark. Led lights are really low electricity usage and could send tasty on a lot longer. Alternatively… Charge an extra dollar or two per person and get rid of the timers.

I have stayed here many times over the years its a beautiful spot with good faciltiesalways take a good bug spray and keep a watch out for wasps the swimming is awesome camping and picnicking are great enjoy!

Stayed in the "Pod"; a teeny, tiny version of a cabin, with no bathroom or kitchen facilities and no electricity. It was separated from the rest of the park, secluded up on a hill and lit romantically with LED candles — it was totally perfect for some time away from the rest of the world! We'll be back!

Great place. Loads of space. Right by a beautiful river and a gorgeous gorge. Lovely owners.

Amazing place, Wayne an Sally are such lovely, welcoming people, spotless facilities, over all a 5 star place.

Friendly staff. Clean and well kept facilities. Allows dogs.

Good service, spacious area for resting, can't expect anything better in this area.

Awesome River near by. But if you want to go down the river from Lee's valley bridge be prepared for a long time. We kayaked it took 3 and a half hours, drifting in tubes a lot longer. Not suitable for young children. However the river holes by camp are pretty good.

Fairly quiet despite public holiday. Decent swimming in the river. Ok amenities.

This is an awesome spot for a river swim. Drive down past the camp ground and then walk about 1K up the river (around a bend). Excellent holes and rocks for jumping off. Where you park up has toilets and changing rooms as well as a playgrounds and picnic spots. It may seem very busy at times but there is plenty of space on the river. The camp ground has good amenities if you are staying longer.

Such an amazing place and great for the kids they swam everyday in the river, gorgeous scenery too might I add. The whole place is well cared for and the cleanliness of the facilities & camp grounds is awesome. Highly recommend Ashley Gorge Holiday Park.
