I really enjoyed staying at the Best Western Hotel in Johnsonville. I wasn't sure of how long I would need the room for, but they were very understanding and offered different options. Also I didn't arrive until 8pm and there was a heater on in my room which was a really lovely gesture.

Was worried it might be noisy being so close to motorway but it was very quiet. Very easy to find off motorway. Easy access to everything in Johnsonville. Room was spacious, warm and bed comfortable.

Was a good place but bedding could have been better.

Location = Johnsonville, slightly far away from city centre but you will find good restaurants around the motel 4/5 Parking = Plenty 5/5 Overall Cleanliness = Good 4/5 Quality of Service = Good 4/5 Amenities = 3.5/5 Positive = Comfortable beds, sky channels, Good view, Large balcony. Negative = Overrated as 4 star, definitely not a 4 star property, Rooms are old and tired and are in need of refurbishment, Air con missing in room and they give old style heaters which is not idle for cold nights. Handy location with convenient parking, rooms were clean and organised complimented with friendly service.

Convenient location, made it so easy to access interislander ferry service. Room functional, staff friendly.

The hotel smells very bad. The beds are uncomfortable. It is dirty inside the hotel and the smell of mold was everywhere. The heater they have in the room does not get rid of the condensation. There was condensation on the windows and the room felt very damp. The extractor fan in the bathroom, the walls, the carpets, the beds all need to be updated and cleaned. It made us feel filthy being at the hotel. The only good thing about it was the wheelchair facilities. Good water pressure of the shower, good height for the vanity and large roll-in shower area. My suggestion is for you to bring the decor up to date — re-paint the walls and update the extractor fan. Also, install a heat pump to help with the dampness/smell in the room. The price we paid for the room was too much for the condition of the rooms.

Bit old but nice big rooms, lots of parking and close to great restaurants. Limited on amenities. Big room and bathroom though.

Interior good, location poor.

Very handy to shops, food outlets and easy access in the morning to the Interislander Ferry.

Great hotel close to Johnsonville and very convenient for Picton Ferry. Bed getting a bit old but everything else ticked all the boxes.

Bloody excellent. Room was great — everything from bedding linen to shower was high quality and spotless. Service, spot on and location perfect for an early ferry sailing.

Had a nice stay here in a suite like room with 3 beds, for 117 USD for one night in April. The kitchen was well stocked as was the bathroom. Enjoyed the courtesy tea, coffee, hot chocolate. Nice to have an elevator which not everywhere in NZ does. Very good strength free Wi-Fi. Two areas definitely could have used improvement, though. The bathroom was in need of a good scrub (it was clean enough for use of course but traces of previous occupant's hair remained, there was also a little mildew on the ceiling). The temperature was also cold and we used the space heater right next to the bed. Since we were not sure how safe it was to use overnight, we were a little on the chilly side.

Thank you for the stay that I and my family had on the night of 18th July. The motel was very good and easy to get at and everything was fine apart from the shower in the bathroom. I had recently had had a hip replacement and as there was no support in the shower compartment to hold on to nor on the wall to help get out of the bath, I was unable to use either facility. I am sure there must be other people who have had similar difficulties in getting out of either the bath or the shower. I have been to other motels in which have had the same problems which may be only very minor to some people, but it was a disappointment to me as I shower every day. Yours, faithfully, Terry Sale.

Tidy and quiet. Close to the motorway for travelers.

Stayed after a rough crossing on the ferry to rest, really easy to find on the satnav, booked through Expedia and very comfortable overall. Left my phone charger there, and have just organised for it to be sent by courier by the very helpful Sam at reception. Overall very positive experience. :-).

The hosts were wonderful, so friendly and very helpful. We had a 2 bedroom unit which was very spacious, modern and well equipped. Shops are only a short walk away. The motorway noise was intrusive, but only with the windows open. Overall quite pleased with our stay.

It was ok, the milk supplied not very good, (as in, not enough of it) and quite pricey for the size of the rooms. Average overall. Good location to the city and amenities. Close to a noisy motorway, but that can't be helped.
