Matakohe House Hotel

Our visit to Jackie and Daniel’s bed and breakfast house was a most memorable time for us. The accommodations were super comfortable, clean and set in the most relaxing, beautiful environment. You wake up to the sounds of the exquisite NZ birds and then you are greeted with the most delicious breakfast and coffee! The homemade muesli and jam is to die for! Jackie and Daniel are master chefs! They also clearly love what they do and they greet you, all the time, with such a joyful disposition.

Peaceful, friendly and accommodated all our needs. We were welcomed at the car by the self appointed receptionist.

This place is amazing. The hospitality is great, rooms great and so is the food. Stayed here 14 years ago and was determined to stay again as I loved it so much. I was not disappointed. Thank you not sure I will get back again but will certainly recommend you.

Went to lunch with my olderly mum the other day, And what a lovely place & the people running it charming & couldn't do enough for us. Only problem they aloud people smoking in the eating area on the terrace! When I asked them politely could they put it out the ladies said go sit some were else! REALLY. So mum & I sat around the corner! SO NOT RIGHT.

Highly recommend the mussel and kumara fritters. Also the beef stroganoff and kumara was excellent. We finished with freshly made carrot cake which was also excellent. This is the place to come for lunch as you drive up north or visit the Kauri Museum.

Fantastic place, warm homely welcome. Had the steak and schnitzel was succulent wanted to lick the plate. Rooms very clean and lovely decor. Breakfast also exceptional. Thank you Lyn and hubby. Deborah and Jackie.

Visited here from California. The owners give the place such a homely feeling. I had the salmon, and have to say, it was the best cooked salmon I have had anywhere. The rest of my family had the rack of lamb, and loved it just as much!
