Terrible if u r by urself. No lighting anywhere outside. Room was nice bed clean. Bathroom clean. Cool house.

It's so tranquil and calm here at Relax a Lodge in Kerikeri makes it hard to leave, Klaus is an awesome host. I loved meet his doggo Nika and the 3 not so little pigs. Even though we only stayed for 1 night, it was beautiful and yes I will return thank you.

Been for more than 3 times. One of the best hidden gem in the northland.

It's a Lodge in Keri Keri NZ in the garden of Mandarin covering 10 Hectares of land a marvellous environment to view & live in.

Nice and comfortable with homely fire, very helpful staff and close to airport for early morning drop off being only 5 mins.

Not bad accommodations. Just not at all what it looks like from the pictures, and a little pricey. But I guess it could be worse.

A beautiful place to truly relax. Our cabin was set in an orange grove where you could just reach out from the verandah and pick a most deliciously sweet orange. It was quiet and there was very little traffic noise from a busy road. The cabin was well set out with lots of beautiful wooden features. There was plaenty of instant hot water and the shower was fabulous. Relax a Lodge is only a few minutes from Kerikeri.

Relax a lodge speaks for itself… close to Keri keri airport and able to drive anywhere in the north. Just hope you have a sunny day…

My boyfriend and I are local. We stayed in a bedroom with access to a large living area (i. E. The main house). The individual cottages outside will be ideal for a large family, however, we highly recommend you to stay in the main house because it is EXTREMELY fun. You will definitely have an unforgettable experience. — Claes (owner) : very considerate, friendly and tidy. He has been running the business for years and knows lots of things about Bay of Islands. He makes really good recommendations to attractions. He provides free organic fruit (from his own orchard) to visitors. He even offered to pick up some people who arrived late at 1am (not many owners would do this — and guys, please, try to arrange your own transport. It is not very good to ask someone who is in his 70s to pick you up at 1am). — Nika (dog) : very well-behaved. My boyfriend knows how to train dogs and he said Nika is well-trained. When we left both doors open every morning, she wouldn't walk straight in. She always waited outside for at least a few minutes and only came in when we "invited" her to do so. She is smart and polite. She never bark at people or jump on people. She gets along with us very well. She wanted us to pet her and play fetch all the time. That's the only time she barks (because of joy and excitement). Please do not throw sticks for Nika to fetch. It is dangerous for her as it might cause cuts to her mouth and tongue.

Very cozy, warm, clean and affordable place. Friendly staff and dog. :) Definitely your place if you like to stay in a community type of accommodation and like animals.

5 min drive from Kerikeri. Cute bedroom with access to a large living area, well stocked kitchen, outdoor area and swimming pool. The owners have a dog, it seems pretty old and doesn't jump all over you.

Great place. Casual, good value, great oranges. Pool, pigs, chooks and super friendly dog that loves chasing oranges when thrown.

Lovely place set in beautiful orange orchards. Very peaceful and quiet. Not much info on arrival and we kind of felt like we were intruding into a family home so didn't use the communal areas. Rooms nicely finished and the facilities were clean.

Claes, Inga and Nika (the Dog) is the best hostess ever. We loved it. Cabin is so clean. The orchard of orange is beautiful. We hope to be back some day.

Loves this place. Cosy, homely let's you feel like you're away from all the huddle and bussle.

We loved our stay there, it was comfortable, well supplied and warm. The gentleman running the place was light-hearted, and funny. The lovely dog Nika made the stay even more entertaining. Would definitely stay again.

At first, we were happy to arrive at the traditionally decorated cabin at late night only to find out the next morning that we had to pay extra NZD 15 for another person! We booked twin room for 2 persons through Agoda but apparently they said we only booked for 1 person which was absurd and kept saying that we made a mistake and pushing us to pay the balance NZD 15. The owner was cursing in front of us while asking us to stop arguing with them when he was the one started the… argument and kept on saying that we were at mistake and repeating Agoda never made a mistake! We tried to show them our booking confirmation but the internet was so bad we couldn't load the email. What they didn't know was we were charged double for the same room that we are trying to resolve with Agoda and our credit card company and we didn't go the whole way asking for the supposed refund from them! But on the other hand they were arguing to us that we had to pay more for the extra person when we already paid everything in advance through Agoda. In the end, the owner just said goodbye to us sort of asking us to leave the place immediately because we were not going to pay the NZD 15! I didn't even get to have my breakfast before leaving. Like, seriously?! I just cannot comprehend why they had to treat us in such a way as if we did not pay anything at all when we paid nearly MYR 250 for the room!

Great staff, great accommodation, would definitely stay again n recommend to everyone visiting northland!

Main kerikeri. Friendly Staff and owner. Decore a little bit dark for my taste but ok. Also could have been warned about no shoes inside policy as it was a bit cold on the feet on the highly polished floors. Well worth a stay.

I love the north Island especially around the Bay of Plenty. Miles of orchards, beautiful coast lines and quaint one street towns plotted all over the state highways. So when I had an opportunity to do a road trip up north for a weekend, I jumped at the word "Kerikeri" and "90 Mile beach! " Anyway, like most road trips, someone else booked the accommodation. The place she choose for us was the Relax a Lodge in Kerikeri. I'm not a complete snob when it comes to booking accommodation but I do have a standard I like to be met. I mean, I like camping and roughing it a bit, now and then, so when I pulled up to Relax a Lodge I wasn't expecting a. Multi-roomed B&B (main house) with cabins (3). The atmosphere inside the main B&B was like a monks shrine. I don't know why it was like that but maybe it was the fact that everyone was in bed by 10pm. Or maybe it was the French couple who bitched at us when we were to noisy playing cards?! Okay I admit it was a drinking card game but come on it's the weekend! Either way, we as quests felt very uncomfortable and somewhat less than welcomed. The Amenities inside the main B&B consisted of 4-5 bookable rooms. Some with double beds, some had multiple beds in different sizes. So make sure you tell them about your sleeping arrangement. The kitchen is communal and well stocked with cooking equipment and cutlery. They'll even supply you with the basic herbs and spices. The Living area is well furnished with rustic charm.

Very welcoming staff and dog Nika, lovely cottage amidst the orange trees, very private. The house was clean and comfortable, beds were good, bathroom immaculate and the bubble bath a joy to our kids. We slept till late, undisturbed, it was absolute the most relaxed stay ever! And the oranges? They are the best! If you want to unwind, to relax, to have a lovely time with family or friends in the middle of a fruitgarden with Kerikeri.

For us one of the best in NZ! Claes who is living in the cosy backpacker is so friendly and helpful. The two dogs in the house are adorable. We stayed one week and it was like our own home. Double room with wardrobe, furnitures, hangers and hooks for our stuffs. Only one bathroom (waiting sometime) but perfect. Spacious common areas with many chairs, tables, sofas, armchairs and games. Small kitchen but full equipped (even a dishwasher). “Help Yourself” coffee, tea, sugar and species. Heater in the room and stove in the living/dining room (in winter dress warmly when no fire during the day). Wonderfull outsides (and free organic oranges). An other must is the free Wifi : by Zenbu but big data vouchers for free. We enjoyed our stay.

Be sure to stay there when you are heading to the Far North. It is a great place to base yourself to visit all the beautiful places in Northland.
The cottage are all beautiful and the staff create a very warm and friendly atmosphere.
